They’re absolutely amazing live. I got to see them in Pittsburgh in 2017, and DC in 2018, and both shows were stunning. I had a ticket to see them in Brooklyn this month, but they canceled the entire North American tour, and I’m still patiently awaiting the rescheduled dates (I assume that the band is waiting to see when and how things eventually reopen).

Still reeling from a performance of this two nights ago in D.C. Terrifying. NC & BS have the insane talent of presenting songs of high art and theater that could easily fall into hollow pretension and somehow making them into intense, shared personal experiences. And it’s unheard for a band with a 35 year catalog to have almost half of the set comprised of material from the past decade and for that to be on par or better to the classics such as Eternity. This is no nostalgia show. This is a long rich road leading into the present. To quote my wife after the show: we’ve seen many insanely good concerts - this is something different altogether.
