Dude...Tom Scholz, the founding member of Boston, created the guitar pedal and invented the computer diodes and transistors that went into attaching that by cable to the guitar, to achieve the sounds you hear. It was unprecedented..nobody in any band had what Tom created. A few years went by, and he patented the devices and they are still being manufactured today. He made millions off his inventions. The voices are all Brad Delp. There was no other vocals and Tom dubbed all of them in. Tom played ALL of the instruments and dubbed them in. The album was littererly produced in Tom's basement. When Epic Records signed them, thats when they started looking for additional band members who listened to the demos and had to copy the style of Tom's production. It was a masterpiece and all done without the record label knowing how it was produced. Tom also produced the spacecraft sounds you hear in the album and songs by then at that time state of the art electronics. Tom also wrote all the lyrics to the songs on the debut album. It was genius...it was a masterpiece..and has stood the changes of time and continues to get air time and played in homes all across the world. Tom Scholz is still alive, he is 78 and is enjoying his life. There will never be another Boston...ever..just like Michael...never will there be another Michael. The 70's and the 80's were the absolute best time for music to explode and to capture the soul of the beat for people world wide to enjoy.
If you liked this, you would LOVE Fore Play/ Long Time.... They didn't put out any bad music my guy, and most all of it has a positive message, which is rare. You'll love Boston, go into the rabbit hole.....
It was so good back then. It was a GREAT time to be alive. We didn't compete to be the most beautiful or fight about someone getting ahead. It was hip huggers and natural looks. Miss my younger years and the ease of just being yourself and hanging out with everyone.
Every single song on Boston's first two albums are all fire! I think my generation of music was filled with positivity and feel good messages. Not to mention...The Music was slamming!
Boston is one of those bands that produces music that makes you feel good. It does not matter my state of mind when Boston comes on... Instant attitude change happens. Boston is just an amazing amazing band that we were lucky to have.
I first heard this album, but particularly this song, when I was 15 or 16 years old. I spent the next 43 years searching for Peace of Mind.... I finally achieved this goal last October, 2023, after Hurricane Ian ravished SW Florida where I currently live. I weathered the storm alone in my house, in a little cubby room with my candles, music and God. When I emerged from that cubby after the storm had passed, I was a new soul. I had faced every fear in that 15 hours of madness...By the time the eye of Ian was directly over my house and there was calm and silence before the back eye-wall hit, I came to believe, to KNOW who I am and my purpose for exixting in the here and now. I spent the second half of the storm sleeping peacefully, KNOWING God was in control and, no matter how or when He chooses to decides to call me home, I have a purpose. I walked into the renewed sunlight after the storm no longer afraid of dying. It is this Peace of Mind that gave me the courage to no longer fear living. Music feeds my very soul. It speaks to me when I am all alone, it speaks for me when I can't find the words. I am turning 60 this year, and I have never felt more alive and at peace than I do today. I am truly blessed!!
I had a 1972 Chevy in 1976 I was 22 (it's been a minute) I had an 8-track player in the dash and Boston cranked until I wore that 8-tracout My dashboard in steering wheel felt every drum beat every drum fill Every song is great!
Not a tambourine, "dead notes" on the guitar. I remember when this came out, blew everybody away. There was never a band that was so melodic and heavy at the same time. A perfect album if such a thing exists
Glad to hear you admit that popular music back then (70’s-80’s-early 90’s) was just better. I agree completely. The variety alone was off the charts. You should also listen to Kansas’ “Leftoverture” album, Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon” album, The Eagles “Hotel California” album, Fleetwood Mac’s “Rumours” album, Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” album, Supertramp’s “Breakfast In America” album, Foreigner’s “Double Vision” album, Journey’s “Escape” album, Queen’s “A Night At The Opera” album, The Police’s “Synchronicity,” album, The Cars’ “Candy-O” album…. the list just never ends from that era. I sure miss that time.
I was 25 years old when this song came out. I loved it back then and I still love it today. It was an iconic band because their sound was so unique for the era and it blew us all away. Great vocals, instumentation, message. Enjoyed your reaction. Billy Boy
Never could've imagined that I would've had this album in different forms, vinyl, cassette, and CD for 48 yrs and counting. Still Smokin! Gotta love 70s rock and roll.
This was my first rock album purchase. I must have been 12. Great song. Great album. Thank you for your reaction. Boston was a fantastic band. I'm fortunate to have seen them live 3 times.
Your reaction is spot on. The sound you thought was maybe tambourine is Tom deadening the strings and strumming a rhythm. Your remarks on the music sold me on subscribing. Superb video.😊
Thank you young man for what you said at the very end about their talent. Yes, they were definitely beyond their time and they have the most unique sound to this day….
The system in society for so long has been demanding me to do something for it. I recently came to the realization that I have to spend time doing something for myself. This just came to my mind listening to this song recently. 🙏
Yes it was a tambourine and yes an acoustic in the beginning, that’s one of the best debut albums ever if not the best debut album ever imo.. the whole album is good not a bad song please keep reacting to this as much as possible until you complete the album
There’s a band called Toronto! Your Daddy Don’t Know was their biggest hit! Jeff Healy, an AMAZING blues guitarist with a twist…😉…Blue Rodeo too! Enjoy brother! ✌🏻🇨🇦✌🏻
Think about being 16 and hearing this the day it came on the radio with a car full of teenagers and hearing this music for the very first time! It kinda freaked us out at first but it was just sooo damn good😂 I mean back in the day we heard music and sounds that were never heard before by human ears! From yes to Steely, The Beatles to Boston and all the rest. I get a little teary when I see that you get it, you hear and feel it✌🤘🎶
You are way ahead of your age and I'm glad to see you recognize what great music is and how sad the music is today in comparison... Good for you my young friend and keep on doing what you do, enjoying the greatest music that I grew up with 💜
Great reaction. My favorite song from this album? Well, honestly, which ever one I'm listening to in the moment! Bought this album in '76 after hearing More Than a Feeling on the radio. Haven't gotten tired of listening to it for over 47 years. Not many albums pass that test.
A name for you to check out and react to is a Canadian blues guitarist Colin James....I highly recommend you have a listen to Just Came Back (To Say Goodbye)...👍👍
In concert, it is Brad Delp (the vocalist) on the tamberine. The whole debut album is hits, but I'll suggest next doing one of my favorite songs of any artist, "A Man I'll Never Be". It is their first power ballad, and it was great when just Brad and Tom performed it by themselves at the concert I saw in 1995. Check out a fan video on it with the lyrics: ua-cam.com/video/9vIL1nY3j6I/v-deo.html
LOVE THE REACTION!!!!!!!!!!!! :) “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe in Him so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” ~ Romans 15:13
Boston didn't make a bad song on this album at all. Listen to your people and they won't steer you astray.

Boston sounds like Summer. All I can say.
yes!
Absolutely. Don't have a summer without them.
So cool that you are diggin Boston!
61 year old white dude, who grew up on this music! 😊😊😊
It was so good back then. It was a GREAT time to be alive. We didn't compete to be the most beautiful or fight about someone getting ahead. It was hip huggers and natural looks. Miss my younger years and the ease of just being yourself and hanging out with everyone.
Not a good time to be alive today...feel sorry for these youngsters...hope peeps vote right next time😢😢😢
Although we always have nostalgia about our youth, I’m with you. It was totally a beautiful time to be alive.
Such an upbeat and positive band - Best DEBUT album ever!
Every single song on Boston's first two albums are all fire!
I think my generation of music was filled with positivity and feel good messages. Not to mention...The Music was slamming!
This album will be 50 years old in the summer of 2025. Let that sink in....
As they say, " whoa!"
Great song. Great group. Boston does feel good. Kansas, " carry on my wayward son." Nice reaction.
Kansas carry on, on my channel!! And thank you😁💙

We blasted this album all summer
You have no idea how happy you made me to see a young person loving Boston. Thank you.
This is my all time favorite Boston song.
The album cover isn't just a guitar, its 9 guitar ships fleeing an exploding earth.

Brad Delp's voice soared! RIP
I remember first time hearing Boston on the radio the next weekend went and bought this album. Still have it 😎
A song that helped me get through some dark days in my early adulthood.
I was 25 years old when this song came out. I loved it back then and I still love it today. It was an iconic band because their sound was so unique for the era and it blew us all away. Great vocals, instumentation, message.
Enjoyed your reaction. Billy Boy
This style/genre was often referred to as "arena rock" by music magazines back then.
I always say that this album is the BEST one to introduce Rock ‘N Roll to someone! Cheers! ✌🏻🇨🇦✌🏻

Boston was a staple in the 70’s, a definite album in any rock album collection!🎸🤘R.I.P. Brad Delp.🙏 Boston used no synthesizers in their music.
Great to see the younger generations still jamming to classic tunes keep exploring...
Your reaction is spot on. The sound you thought was maybe tambourine is Tom deadening the strings and strumming a rhythm. Your remarks on the music sold me on subscribing. Superb video.😊

I'll say it again... every song was a hit!

And how about that cover! Everything about this album was pure fire.
There’s a band called Toronto! Your Daddy Don’t Know was their biggest hit! Jeff Healy, an AMAZING blues guitarist with a twist…😉…Blue Rodeo too! Enjoy brother! ✌🏻🇨🇦✌🏻

Memories....ahhhh! Thanks for that!
There isn't a bad song from these guys❤ Maybe you could react to Dear Mr. Fantasy by Traffic studio version it's honestly a trip❤
This one shines, but my favorites are "Don't Look Back" and "Rock and Roll Band" (this one tells their story; use the lyrics when you listen".
10th grade...in the car tape player constantly.
Concert was real good. Tom Scholz's gold Les Paul shot sparks out of it. Pretty cool
I really enjoy your reactions. You’re wise, keep up the great work.
