We may have praised North Korea to the skies, legitimized a brutal dictator in the eyes of the world, and promised to stop our army's practice strikes in the country all to reward Kim Jong Un for agreeing to meet with us, even though that is something he wanted to do anyway, but we didn't also lift sanctions on the country, so obviously the deal is much better than the one we made with Iran.

I also find it worth noting that Trump described the military exercises as "provocative" and "war games", seemingly legitimizing North Korea's take on the drills rather than the more neutral tone which the US has traditionally adhered to. But Trump's language always seems to favor dictators while deriding our previously held standards and allies.
As relations with Kim are strengthened our ties to Canada are strained, not only with tariffs, but with personal attacks aimed at their Prime Minister. In fact, the bonds we've formed with many of our closest allies are being worn away with broken deals and mean spirited Tweets.
Meanwhile, Trump lashes out more vehemently at American citizens who get on his bad side than murderers who have literally threatened the United States. Celebrities and football players are painted in a harsher light than genuine criminals, both at home and abroad. The reversal is astonishing, especially since his supporters seem to be in favor of this confounding behavior. That America would walk hand in hand with brutal regimes to the cheers of its people is profoundly disturbing.
And he hangs another ally, South Korea, out to dry without even warning them. Given, you can't warn anyone if the idea just popped into your head and you act on it a moment later.
This is about party, not about ideology. Republicans are brainbleached by FOX to think everything they do is awesome and everyone else is bad. If Trump said Kim was bad and Trudeau strong, they would cheer just as they do the other way around, because they don't care about the message, they only care about the messenger.
It is quite obvious really, neither if Trump insults Kim or compliments him, they will find a way to defend it, because he is in their party and that is all that matters... you know, this strongly reminds me of 1984.

This is why we have a Diplomatic Corps, State Department, career diplomats. They're the ones who get the deals made and when the deals are done that's when the world leaders meet and sign papers.

For the purpose of 'dealing' with Kim Jong Un, a few statements like that are probably justified. I suppose it's a legitimate concern down the line that Trump may not be lying though.

And he called the Iran Deal weak. A deal that had specific mechanisms to achieve denuclearization. He did this simply to say he did for his fans. He knows they won’t look into it any further than hearing what he has to say about it and they’ll love it. Also how many times do he have to see this guy praise dictators before we accept the fact that it’s because that’s the way he wants to lead.
Keeping it real. The guy is a killer dictator living off his people while they're living under some stressful conditions. And our guy actually praises him for being "tough" and doing a great job. (45 also praises duterte the killer leader in Philippines.)
