- In this video I will restore Art Noveau chair from the beginning of the 20´th century. It was brought to by by the client, who got it with the house that he bought. It has rather unusual design, because of the black color and high backrest. I really enjoyed this restoration process.

Title: Art Nouveau chair FULL RESTORATION (with pro tips)
Anybody else imagine someone 100 years from now looking at this and saying, "You can see here where this chair has been expertly restored by a master craftsman"?
His videos are my favorite restoration videos on UA-cam. Not only is he very talented but he's also very funny 🙂
when it looks like an easy job it means that you master that art.
If I were a broken chair, I'd want AT Restoration to be my surgeon.
Watching this man restoring furniture is one of the most rewarding, entertaining, educational and professional experiences, ever. As I've said once before, if these restored items could speak, they'd sing his praises. He's what to furniture restoration as Michaelangelo was to fine art 🎨. Well done, Sir 👍👏
I'm 72 years old and I can totally agree that the sheet metal seat was quite the surprise. I've been refinishing furniture since I was 20 and I've never seen anything like it. Awesome work as usual. Where were you when I was refinishing and repairing the 1920's waterfall dressing table? I could have used some advice😁
“What’s under the last layer?” LOL! Done! Fascinating and Beautiful restoration!
You are;
An Artisan, master. Professional, craftsman, journeyman .
- I believe you could pass that talent to others and become a PROFESSOR !
I’m always waiting for your next video. I was trained in the classic techniques of cabinetmaking and furniture and so far have not found anyone with respectable skills except for you! When I’m watching other videos I’m usually cringing and covering my eyes in disbelief.
We are thinking of becoming suppliers of blindfolds for chalk painting videos..;)
Thomas Johnson from Maine is also excellent on You tube.
@@philipwilliams5808 I was just about to say the same thing. Thomas Johnson is a master. I miss Ella.
@@bluecurlygirl We all miss Ella :-(
IT IS GREAT WHEN WE ARE INSPIRED BUT....
TO INSPIRE SOMEONE ELSE , IT IS EPIC!
Your attention to detail never ceases to amaze me. I simply love how you fix even the smallest of issues and make everything new again. Bravo!
As always, beautiful work!!
Watching you restore furniture is the most interesting, soothing and satisfying experience. I honestly can't wait for the next one. Thank you 😊😊😊
Your chair is beautifully restoerd . Where can I buy this material , is it leather or leather.ette ?
I agree and I actually love that he doesn’t talk but you know exactly what he is doing.
Around 1pm here in Adelaide, South Australia. Nice way to spend a cold Saturday afternoon admiring your work - great as always!
Doing the same thing in Sydney!
And NSW Mid North Coast !
Just the thing to distract oneself on a wet and miserable day.
That’s right, it’s winter there. I’m in hot Dallas, Texas and it was 95 degrees here today🥵! (Although we have a strange cold front, for May, coming through tonight and going to be rainy and 65 degrees tomorrow).
Rags to Riches! Can you imagine the original furniture maker's amazement and pride plus his surprise at all your power tools.
This is a prime example of the restorers' art, with all its skills, at which you excel as few others do.
Thanks and kudos!
It's 11am here in Singapore when I'm watching this with my morning coffee. Truly a wonderful start to my Saturday. And that beautiful chair reminds me to make more coffee.
You are truly Master of Restoration, sir! You have a fan in me!
I look forward to your videos. Can't wait for the next one.
I love how you're never wrong with a radius of the blocks for the missing wood parts. At first it was extremely bizarre to see how you never use a chisel for this, but then I've started to enjoy your way of repair.
I have done it so many times that it is already in my muscle memory.
Beautiful chair-you never see intricate design like this nowadays. I’ve never seen a piece of metal in a chair like that before either; you would think it would pop or snap when a person sat down. Good job.
I feel at peace every time the shellac is added 😌
Beautifully preserved for another 120 years 🥰
I think you re-made it better than what it was originally made!!
No words...you are a true 🎨 artist. I have a broken dining chair and know of no one to fix it. You are a rare breed. ✨️ 💺
Another beautiful transformation. I really enjoy it when clients are wise enough to trust master craftsmen to do what they do best and leave the decisions to them,
Beautifully done AT! I continue to watch with delight.😘
When I saw the staples going in I thought "this looks terrible!" When you put the pins in they looked fantastic!
Just WOW! Says it all. Makes my heart glad that there are folks like you around saving the past and keeping history out of the landfills. Thank you.
Hi Ahti, loved this restoration.
It always amazes me to see your attention to the little details that others ignore. And I realize how long it takes to complete a project. Hours, days, if not weeks of hands on work not just the waiting times for drying and materials to arrive. Bravo sir, you are a Master of your craft!
My favorite furniture restoration channel!! The range of skills, the attention to detail, and most of all- the clamps!!😁😍
It is so satisfying to watch such a beautifully proportioned elegant chair being given a new life by this dedicated and highly skilled master craftsman. Bravo!
Great job! Your work as a restorer is much more professional and productive than that of your government!
A shop with hand and power tools to die for
An expert and imaginative replacement of missing or damaged parts
Clear captions
An experienced and dedicated craftsman devoted to sympathetic restoration
And a new subscriber who’s delight to find your channel
There is a tool like a curved screwdriver with a forked blade for prising out old nails and tacks. You made a beautiful restorsation of that Art Nouveau chair.
You blow me away every restoration. This chair is so beautiful. Not only did you restore it to perfection, I received an excellent education about the style of chair.
they call him "The Clamp Man" :) that is a beautiful chair with a very cheeky secret message inside! :)
i wish you would live in my hometown so i could have my old coffeehouse chairs being restored by you!
this new video made my saturday afternoon. thank you once more and again :-)
I wish I were half as good as you are my friend.
No restorations = no half-assed bodging you have to fix.
Great job and video, as usual.
Another incredible restoration, Ahti! So love to watch the care you take with every piece, especially for one’s that are over 100 years old. You are a true master craftsmen. Stay safe.💜
I love your restoration so far the most among all the furniture restoration videos i’ve watched.. very detailed, nice working space and good editing. Please post some more. Wishing you the best.
New life for an olde chair. Beautifully done.
What a beautiful job ❤
Art Nouveau and Art Déco are really my favorite style of fourniture 😍
I can watch your videos during hours 😂
Hello from Belgium 🇧🇪😘
Beautiful chair! I’m so glad you could make it’s owners happy again! I wish I could be there to learn from you in person!
Goodness I love the outcome, I've seen so many chairs like this end up in the trash. You brought it back hopefully for another hundred years love your work. 👍🏼👍🏼
I enjoy watching your video’s so much. I tried to Watch other furniture restauration video’s but non of them do it like you. Not the same attention to detail, quality of work and craftmanship. Always makes me look forward to you next upload.
Wow! As always, and amazing transformation with your expert eye for details. It is very inspiring to watch your work! Thanks so much!
Ahhh... now we are all happy 😊.
Congratulations on both jobs well done!
Your talents are exceptional!

Exstreamly good A T. 👍🎓😊
Beautiful job done. I love it. The client will love it. I bet that's what it originally looked like.
Beautifully restored chair. It can be used for another 100 years. 👍
This chair is beautiful. Restored to its natural state and beauty, glad that your client went to you instead of the trash pile. You do such beautiful work. Have a great day
Best thing about this piece, you're the first person to restore it, you don't have to work around what a previous restorer did.
I totally enjoy watching your videos and how great you are at your job or hobbie.
Hi AT beautiful restoration good job friend
Amazing to watch. You must have every tool under the Sun!
It's such a lovely chair, I'm glad you could save it.
I truly appreciate whoever has kept this chair without trying to “fix’’ it. They waited for your sure gentle touch. Very beautifully well done sir. Awesomeness.
Thank you to whoever invented air staplers.
Your work reflects true art and dedication. Thank you 🙏
It was a real pleasure to watch and actually hear the tools you were using and not some dumb music. Great job and thanks for no music in the main part of the video!
Love how this one is original is made
This helped me with information about a old rocker I have. I didn’t know they made faux leather back in 1907. I thought my rocker had painted fabric but now I know it may be this same material, and that my rocker may not be any older than 1907. I’m still doing research on it.
Gorgeous! Love watching your videos. 😊
I love Art Nouveau. This is beautiful
Well, you did it again! Simple attention to detail. The beauty you bring to your craft is in the masters class all by itself. Thank you for sharing!
Good for another 100 years!
A really fine restoration of that 120 year-old chair.,
Amazing work. Such a beautiful chair. I love your videos. Also you are very handsome!
The clamping the chair to table to get it even. Really good tip I appreciate. Thank you. Great job.
I like how you draw around your chisel for the double mortise tenon. Better than measure, the chisel will now fit the cut perfectly
Please tell me that you have people under your tutelage. I'd hate to think that no one is learning from you. You are in a super position to empower others with amazing skills and optimizing their potential. I'm (always) watching your videos in Durban. South Africa
Wow, thanks!
Anyone complaining about the last video’s not so full restoration should be satisfied with this ;)
Love your videos. Nice find at the end of the day …
Your restorations are always so amazing. I love your work.
Hello Ahti! I am praying for your Country to come through all the terrible times over there. God keep you all safe and well. That was a beautiful chair. I learn so much from you already. I think I could build a chair myself! Lol. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏾🙏🏼🙏🏽☝🏻
Thanks LInda!
So rare to see a modern "Master Craftsman". Bravo on all you do, it's amazing!
The Secret Message was funny. The craftsmanship as always was above the mark! Thank you for sharing your videos!
Oh what a beauty, I was very excited to see this restoration. A very unique chair and a great restoration.
I would love to know what the customers say when they see the fantastic job you have done!
Gorgeous restoration and beautiful fabric choice!
You are truely gifted!!!
Alright I'm impressed. I will subscribe just to see more restorations.
The one millimeter added bteween the flowers and the uprights at the back is a nice detail, it makes the carving more prominent.
