  • This dresser is made around 1900´s. It came to My workshop from the old private residence in Tallinn. It is one of the many items, I have restored for this house. It is not rare model, but it is still nicely designed true 19 century antique. It was unusual to see that all the original handles were still attached, so I gladly reused them.
    My favorite tools:
    Kärcher steam cleaner: amzn.to/3jltvLf
    Bessey edge clamps: amzn.to/3A6i7K3
    Dovetail jig: amzn.to/2VeM7Vw
    Workshop vacuum: www.amazon.com....
    Random orbital sander: amzn.to/3A925PK
    Oscillating Spindle Sander amzn.to/3lq9t4X
    Camera: amzn.to/3e5CG0V
    Led goggles: amzn.to/3we7mq1
    Protective shield: amzn.to/3Pnthmj

This is one of your best videos ever. You must spend hours and hours editing. Loved the effect where there were two of you. I appreciate that you save the music for the reveal only. You time lapse and 'real time' perfectly, and it's so well done. Birch is not my favorite wood (usually stains blotchy, for one), yet it really works for this piece...maybe it's the ebonized wood that takes it up a notch. Truly a beautiful restoration! I am in awe of your skill and artistry, Master!

Thanks David! I think I spent about 6-8 hours to edit this. 90% of the footage goes to trash, because there is so much repetitive work. I think my record was 90GB per video and final result was like 6GB. I forgot the show it on the video, I primed this dresser with thin shellac layer first, it reduces the blotchiness. Here in Estonia the birch is very common furniture material. Thanks again, it is always heart warming to read your comments.

Oh wow, what a beautiful job! It was a nice piece to start with, but dudes....you took it from nice to flat out glorious! The staining the detail on the top was stunning, I am always impressed with your ability to color match. And your ability to recreate any details that have been lost to time and 'critter chewing'.
Very, very well done. Thank you so much for posting!

Upon unboxing, I was immediately upset at how the rails were very noticeably bent. But I kept going, all tools needed to assemble were included ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxqtX4Dxs6aecAZEuz6GY5-d81YecKCshn and I had it set up in about 30 minutes. Honestly I love this thing, make sure to read the measurements and measure your space so you know if it'll work for you. I bought this to put inside my closet, underneath where I hang my clothes and it is absolutely perfect! It is VERY sturdy and all drawers glide easily and mine are stuffed, and they are still flush when closed.

Wow, I really like that dresser with the contrasts in colors.
Last night I was looking at my grandparents little secretary and got tired of the front door leaning down below level when open, so I took the sliding stops off to see what it would take to fix that and I realized that the hinge areas had been torn out and kinda repaired. I decided that I wanted to maintain the beautiful veneer, so I decided to chisel out the base oak and leave the veneer. I will then find some oak to glue in between then reshape the original curve. The holes for the pivot anchors will be an easy fix of drilling, dowels and redrilling.
I figure that will be the easy part. The hard part (for me) will be figuring out how to finish it. I think I'll end up taking it to someone that knows, to get advice and supplies.
Thank you for the inspiration and ideas.

Have saved this, as I have a bureau with the feet cut off and had no idea how to attach new ones. You taught me that! 🙏 My Italian father and grandfather were brilliant at, not only restoration, but creating furniture.
