Ohhhh maaan!!! 2014 highline jetta tdi in my laneway has been doing the EXACT SAME THING for about 3 months. Intermittent light, couple limp mode occurences, brake pedal hard to push, just randomly annoying af. I have had enough and was lucky enough to find your video. Huge smile on my face as you saw that voltage jump on your software. I wish it wasnt dark out right now i would be going straight to brake booster. Gonna look at it tomorrow. Awesome, love it, Thanks!!!
Fantastic content I’ve got a p2564 and your video has helped me understand how the system works. On my scan tool I’ve no signal voltage at all o I’ll do some checks.
I’m so freakin happy that I found this video because I now know what the solution can be though I have exactly the same problem with actuator testing fine when stationery but triggering the fault code while driving. Thanks a ton man 👍😃
Good catch. As we know the plastics and rubber components on cars degrade over time so touching them can certainly make a problem that's small at first get worse.
Everyone keyed into signal fluctuating with brake pedal. That point made diagnosing easy. It would have been easier if the brake pedal was "hard" all the time or at least more than it was.
Howdy! I watched both parts with great interest, eagerly waiting for the second part!!! I sensed that there were some problems on the vacuum side, when the pedal was pressed and the value of the turbocharger position sensor changed. I suspected the servobrake hose direction valve!!! But the vacuum hose from the power brake was broken! Great job on smoke diagnostics! Congratulations! Good health! I have the same error code on my Wv Polo 1.2 Tdi P2564. The turbocharger was refurbished and now I have this error, before the refurbishment I didn't have it! I'm still documenting the working values of the position sensor. I suspect that the position sensor was not calibrated correctly.
Brilliant video, I have a diesel Skoda Superb with the same code, I tried a new N75 valve but no joy; time to check for leaks now before getting a mechanic involved. Thanks.
Hmmm. You've given me something to think about. I too have experienced a hard brake pedal but figured I needed new pads....I'll dig deeper. Thanks. I've a 2015 Peugeot Expert Van here in the UK. 2.0hdi 130bhp. Only thing I've not checked is electrical side. the turbo is recent but now thinking it's just not working. can get a full vacuum and hold it. turbo works in low gear only.
Awesome troubleshooting! Got 000175 - turbo vane tested good but with only .9v max vac! Don’t have a smoker so vac tested both end points and it held at 21 n 22.5 respectively. Q- would I still need to smoke test the vacuum lines? Many thx in advance.
Much appreciated video CoolAirVW RM! I have a similar issue but my voltage in group 120 is at 0.45V while at idle and if I run the measuring block and engage the N75 it will stay at 0.45V then jump to ~3.5V when it shuts off... nothing between. I have replaced my wastegate actuator (G581) and properly adjusted it and my N75 now. The vacuum system and individual lines all seem to hold vacuum just fine on my Mityvac. I am unsure how to proceed. Thoughts on if this could be a wiring issue or ECM?
Awesome job! The vacuum lines are a pain in the a** I dont have a smoke machine, usually i just light a cigarette and blow the smoke inside, and voila, leak found😄
i like to watch troubleshooting of cars i have. altho this is a newer model than what i have. it helps me think in and outside the box when my turn comes to troubleshoot. in this case tho, i'm wondering why not just replace the plastic with a hose? so it stays flexible and will last longer than the plastic?
I had hard peddle when i hit brakes 2 or 3 times the vacume pipe off the inlet manifold was blocked withnoily carbon bdeposits and also brittle and probably leaking changed it the car had brakes like new from then on.0cost 3 pounds foto fix i think
I have ww cc 2013 2.0tdi auto dsg 177 bhp there is problem Wen my engine is cold and I start there car this light flashing and car going in limp mode but wen my car get hotter and get temperature car no limp mode car it not smoking nothing everything find only wen cold. I had new Turbocharger Actuator And new Turbo Pressure Solenoid Valve N75 and still same nothing change really don't know what to do mechanic say it turbo but I don't thing it Had it diagnosed and it coming up with code p256300 but what is weird is wen I start the car and hold brake pedal no no lights flashing or limp mode but if I let go then light flashing and limp mode ????
I dont think that is a code. I probably will not be able to give you good advice with the information presented. Your probably gonna need to get ittmto someone knowledgeable.
Hi did the voltage Go down in idleing after changing the hose or did IT still show 1.4 or 1.7 because Like Out Said IT should BE at 0.75 +- at idleing right? Thanks and good woork
Yeah sorry i tought IT would Show you the Video im talking about. IT was about the video about the fault Code p2563 in the silver VW Jetta i think where you discovered the broken hose coming from the vaccumpump
I built a smoke machine (ua-cam.com/video/BP2ffBSD2A0/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared) and simply followed your fault finding process. I had the IDENTICAL problem that you experienced and, thanks to this video, was able to quickly and easily fix the problem. Many thanks!!!

cool! I hope it helps!
It was indeed cracked in that same spot. Thanks again!
@@matt3595 Ha ! thats great! I'm glad you found it
Thanks so much. I had a car with the exact same issues presenting itself today. Found the issue in 5 minutes thanks to you!
So cool! I'm glad the video helped.

Those somewhat rigid hoses are notorious for breaking with time and heat. Great video!
Vw just keeps using them.
That is unbelievable diagnosis and catch!

Good troubleshooting. Looks like fun.

When putting in gear or the aircon on the engine may bog down ior pick up and alter vacume?
shouldn't alter it enough to matter
