Thank you, this was a great help. VW specialist couldn't help so I went ahead and did it myself. Safety pin bent straight to get the voltage and a £13 Mityvac copy of ebay. Used an old bike 10mm thin spanner and bent it to fit and sawed the ends so it would turn in the limited space. I am now struggling with ABS Operation 01130 008 implausible signal. But this I don't think is related. Although occurred within a week of Turbo and accuator replacement. Top videos post some more up. Thanks again
Absolutely brilliant. I'm in Aus but if I was local to you I'd be on the phone right now asking to book my CC booked in. It has a problem with what I'm pretty certain is boost pressure but beyond that I'd prefer to leave it to someone, that is obviously all across this stuff, such as yourself .
Hi, can I ask you what codes did you had? I tried many garages and they said is full turbo… but the car pulls sometimes and I believe is from this actuator. I have P0299
@alexcovaci24 in all honesty, I took a guess. The turbo was not smoking, and the core was solid when I tried to move it and the engine was absolutely fine... if its pulls sometimes then my guess woukd be the actuator. Did that job 3 years ago and the car still pulls great with the original turbo and 148,000 miles
Hi Dom A massive thanks for the video after watching I done on my Audi A1 CAYC 1.6 diesel engine, been going round in circles for weeks with issue after changing the engine, because of your video mines is fixed, it was reading 1.76 volts, i done with Multimeter and miti vac. Thanks again
@@hafysharif5559 I've got the same problem with p256300 and P00AF00 after changing engine, turbo was fine before? How can actuator get damaged or voltage out of spec?
Really good vid, Dom, perfect show & tell here. My Mk6 GTD goes in for a new TA fit next week - local workshop - I just hope they know about the 0.4 V target! Cheers!
Many thanks for making and sharing this video would underboost code for a4 2.0ltdi ultra along with limp mode be also caused by dodgy actuator i replaced boost sensor and car continues to go into limp mode thanks.

My actuator is a different set up vaccum pulls rod upwards doesn't have 2 nuts on it either has small adjusting screw on turbo is it the same 0.4v? I'm getting 5.56v ignition off.
Having issue with audi a4 2008 2.0tdi ... get a boost control poistion range perforamce fault.. ive noticed the fault is only beging triggered when vehicle is idling, no loss of power, do you no what voltage i should be reading with car ticking over ?
I have a 2011 Passat 2.0tdi, the actuator arm isn’t threaded. Trying to use vcds to do basic settings on actuator however it fails. I’m guessing it’s because the voltage reading aren’t within spec. How do I know what they should be? Should I use a vacuum pump and do as your video?
Hi great video you did say that you occasionally give advise so my 2014 Passat 2lt tdi has the glow plug lights coming on with a code of p23800 I have changed the turbo switch but still the same, it will produce vacuum for about 30 seconds with no light open and as soon as the light comes on the vacuum goes. however if I pump up the actuator the light stays off totally any ideas
Does anyone know the Part number or a link to the "Lock Clip" for the actuator nuts? My lower nut came loose and worked its way all the way off the actuator rod!
My turbo was refurbished 2 months ago and now I am getting lo boost flashing coil light and engine management on I don't no if my acyfatter needs set up any ideas please thanks
Hi mate I have cc 2.0tdi dsg 2013 have problem with limp mode wen there car is cold but wen the car get hot it okay no limp mode wold you look at this if I com down mate please
Got the same problem on VW Golf 2.0l TDI, changed the turbo actuator and the mechanic said he couldn't clear the fault, now I believe he did not set it properly it reads 3.45V ignition on engine not started and 1.79V when engine is running on idle, I compared that to my other same VW that's working fine and was different, it read 3.45V ignition on engine not started and 0.79 engine running on idle, Any help I'd appreciate, Thank you so much.
Hi I have a Audi A3 2.0 TDI on a 2005 plate, it started to go into limp mode when I accelerated, this was at 135k miles and when I pulled over turned off the engine and re started it it would be ok, this went on for a while and my garage fitted a new turbo which has now done 15k miles and the problem has come back, garage has put some turbo cleaner in and says it should help but this hasn't worked before, can you advice please...Thank you..

Dom, I’ve done this by adjusting the top and bottom nut within range 3.5v (no vac) / 0.4v (w/vac). When I turn the key on its stuck @ 3.5v as seen on my short video ua-cam.com/users/shortswRMWxZogCHE?feature=share I swapped an N75 from my Transporter 2.0 CR and the value is still stuck @ 3.5v.
