So sick of the fanboys downing Eloy. Lol I was pissed off as well when Jay was fired, however... Eloy is doing things behind the kit that no Slipknot drummer has done during a live show in a long, long time. YES Joey wrote the parts, YES Joey was a HUGE creative driving factor in Slipknot, YES Joey was insanely talented. But in the majority of Slipknot performances, you'll find that he uses a lot of off-track fills to take up space and 'cheat' the parts he played in the studio. Not to mention, Joey played sh*t FAST during a lot of their live performances. Sorry, but Jay can't even be in this conversation. The FACT in this matter remains that Eloy Casagrande consistently delivers the precise performance that these songs demand. Anyone that tries to downplay what he's doing or take anything at all away from his performances clearly knows nothing about drums, let alone music.
The point of off-track fills to cheat during live shows is an important point that isn't discussed enough tbh Jay over relied on this technique to the point it kind of made the songs boring (particularly those with blast beat sections). While it's painful to admit with the loss of Joey, Eloy is the best drummer on a technical level they've ever had. It isn't that Joey is necessarily "worse" than Eloy, but, there's just such a difference in the way they both trained and practiced. Eloy comes from a place of training and studying more like a classical musician would for percussion and it's extremely evident in his playing and technicality.
I think you’re mistaken…. Slipknot will never make songs like the ones we know and love again. Slipknot is slowly turning into a cover band at this point. At the end of the day both Eloy and Jay are/were just covering Joey’s parts. And being that Joey was the one who made the parts, he could improvise any way he wanted to on stage. Sometimes raw and crazy imperfect drums is better than super technical and perfect. Keith Moon would be another example of that
I just saw them live for my 9th time at the 25th anniversary show. Joey is goat. I have HELLA respect for Jay and a sour taste about how they dropped him. But Eloy..... Eloy is built different. I haven't heard Slipknot drums sound like that in almost 20 years. I saw them for their 99' debut and now in their 24' lineup. It was a WHOLE NEW show.
In the studio and in performances, sometimes there are slight differences in beat variations, this is normal and can often be heard from any band, Joey always gives variations of beats in performances while in Slipknot, that is actually his right, he is the one who makes the beats, there are no restrictions on doing something as long as he creates that something. , that's how creative he is in playing the drums, the devil always does things beyond his reach, it's crazy like no other, basically Joey is the devil, Jay is a not bad drummer, while Eloy has power in the beat, it's a simple thing in this.
With all the respect that all of them deserves, here it is my 2 cents as a metal drummer: Eloy is the most technical. Eloy and Joey are very good to put the music and creativity in first place. Joey and Eloy play drums with character, with emotion that is palpable even without seeing them, just listening. Joey created so much new drum parts across the years and didn't see Jay bringing the same stuff into the table and we are yet to see what Eloy will bring (composition).
@Stefanoski88 The fact that i never stated that, tells me a lot about your reading comprehension. Either way.. just list me 5 drummers. Educate me. Im really curious.
@bituos Depends on the drummer. Look at Gene Hoglan. Dude doesn't use electronics and he drums circles around Eloy. Inferno from Behemoth, only triggers his bass drums. Everything else is him. If Eloy were to play Extreme Metal, I'd bet he'd definitely trigger his bass drums. Good argument though.
Honest opinion, Eloy is going to revive Slipknot while doing proper justice to the past (Joey), bettering the present (Jay), and giving hope BACK to the future. Dare I say… All Hope is NOT Gone? lol In truth, Jay was a placeholder that overstayed his welcome. He’s a damn good drummer, but he never made Slipknot better. Joey always made whatever came next, at least, equal to what was before if not better. His versatility created such a unique sound and listening experience whereas Jay, you alwayssss felt like you’ve heard it before… Jay was certainly a lesser talented drummer than Joey, which is not a knock on Jay but the reality toward just how unique Joey was. Now that Eloy is here, he brings back the grove and power Slipknot has been missing for so long, elements to the drums that Jay NEVERRRR could create or even replicate.
Joey criou e dele a melhor versão.
A unica compração é do Jay e do Eloy.

Eloy’s power technique and brutality might fit Slipknot’s future directions, but with all due respect, I REALLY FCKING LOVE JAY’S CREATIVITY AND GROOVE especially in the Album .5 The Gray Chapter. Honestly i prefer slipknot to go balance in groove, melody, and heaviness. I don’t like much of their songs in their early albums ‘cause for me theyre a bit too brutal and less melody and groove, but i love almost all of their songs in .5 TGC and We Are Not Your Kind

JOEY JORDISON has inspired almost all drummers today maybe includes jay and eloy 😂 and he made “SLIPKNOT” and what/where they are now. 📌JAY is trying to copy JOEY and ELOY has his own technique but it is not sound of slipknot and its getting exaggerating and trying hard and hurrying as if chasing someone. 😂 JOEY JORDISON is irreplaceable NO (1)one can replace the #1 END~~
Jay lacks the finesse and groove, he just starts blasting on everything instead of actually feeling it out and adding nuance and flow. Jay was a cheap clone. Eloy is a drummer.

I wonder where you got the clean recording of Joey Jordison's drums?
its not actually joey lol. search up on youtube “heretic anthem drums only” and youll find videos with that audio. its a midi recording
Cool video comparison... Eloy takes the lead ANYTIME on live performances, the dude is just a perfect drum beast. But I'm not sure if that is actually Joey's original audio... plus, to be a good comparison, at least all audio of the three, should be live footage... not studio or not even that...
thats correct, this guy who put this lame comparassion doesnt know shit.
Lol no one can beat the original 🔥🔥🔥
Joey all the way 🤟
My favorit is joey
@Stefanoski88 The fact that i never stated that, tells me a lot about your reading comprehension.
Either way.. just list me 5 drummers. Educate me. Im really curious.
É comparar ser humano com suoer herói. Difícil.... advinha quem é o Hulk com a precisão do Super Man e a velocidade do Flash? 😅😂
Joey had an *amazing* sound, Eloy keeps time like an atomic clock, and Jay is really really good but sounds sloppy in comparison
Não existe jamais alguém vai vencer Joey is THE best ❤
Jay.
Deixa a nacionalidade de lado
Eloy = best drummer of the fuck### world
Ehh, he's great yeah. But the best? No. I'd argue most Extreme Metal drummers could drum circles around Eloy.
@@VileSinner666 Yeah, just imagine what Eloy could do using all the electronics that these Extreme Metal drummers use
Dare I say… All Hope is NOT Gone? lol
In truth, Jay was a placeholder that overstayed his welcome.
No he didnt use triggers.
Joey create this insane shit! And Jay does a incredible work! But Eloy its a motherfucker badass and will do the most insane work with Slipknot.
Eloy just stands out.
La batería nació para Joey Jordison ❤❤❤
Jay running running running
Because is the Slipknot's 25th anniversary
Joey is original music builder, and it's the best
@@DaviSilva-uo8zmeloy wouldnt have this job if it wasnt for joey. so joey won
2:40 uat the heck was he playing lol
Joey era foda demais ,harmonia pura
Jay was always struggling in double bass parts and always masking it with millions of drum rolls
Joey came up with these parts himself
A unica compração é do Jay e do Eloy.
Desapega, desapega, OLX!
@@bituos ? Tá drogado?
That Joey track isn't the original at all, that's all midi...
Eloy is better!!!
Jay cheats in double bass parts.
What do you talking about?
@@fadilakbar8607 If you were a drummer and played double bass drums, you would understand.
@@fadilakbar8607 I'll try to explain it to you.
eloy's double bass drum parts:
tu tu tu tu tu tu tu tu tu tu
Jay's double bass drum parts:
tu tutu tu tu tutu tu tu tu tutu
@@gilsobra it's just because of his feet
@@fadilakbar8607 It's more than just the feet, it's years of practice. Great drummers can't maintain that consistency and precision with pressure.
Jay is fast making me stunned amaze, slipknot just more like dream theater with jay
Eloy is powerful making me do more head banging like metal band should do
rip joey ur the original
you can see that JOEY JORDISON doesn’t even look like he’s trying and exaggerating. His movements and precision is just RELAXED YET DAMN! GOOD AND EFFORTLESS.
JOEY JORDISON is irreplaceable
NO (1)one can replace the #1
END~~
No wonder jay got fired. His style doesn’t fit slipknot. He a good drummer just doesn’t fit
Joey - beast
Jay - cool drummer
Eloy - damn machine
Eloy é muito melhor!
Jay is just Incredible, Fast Fast Fast
Eloy!
Their name all end with a Y
Slipknot miss joey since he left. He was insanely creative...Elroy is a beast but I don't like his brutal way of drumming.
then go listen to the jonas brothers bruh
Eloy sounds like everyone else has no clue how to actually play metal drums.
I'm still Jay's fanboy
Eloy my love ❤🥰😍😘❤🎉🥁🥁💋💋💋
Jay lacks the finesse and groove, he just starts blasting on everything instead of actually feeling it out and adding nuance and flow. Jay was a cheap clone. Eloy is a drummer.
We now know Jay was fired cause he can't even play the damn songs
Eloy Casagrande é outro nível 🔥🔨🔨
In these clips, I'll say Joey, then Eloy, then Jay. I've heard Jay kill it perfectly before. But this wasn't super good from him.
@DaviSilva-uo8zm I do prefer Jay and Joey over Eloy. Yeah ghost notes are cool, but that alone isn't gonna make my jaw drop. I gotta hear what he does in the studio. He's doing well live, no doubt. Just don't like how his kit sounds besides his bass drum.
A bateria: TIRA QUE EU VOU CAGAR!!!
So outta 9 guys 5 have talents and the others are just clowns or stage props. Whatever works right.
Jay was a cheater haha
