hey Sabina, here you have it, Floor never tries to copy Tarja or Anette, she just bring her own interpretation of the song. Both versions are, of course, fantastic each in there own style.

I think that songs like I wish I had an angel, Nemo, sleeping sun, wishmaster, phantom of the opera , walking in the air and the siren belong to Tarja, at least I like her versions of these songs the best but all the other songs I can listen with Floor, especially I like Floors version of Ghost love score ,both are amazing singers

Tarja is the best Nightwish vocal she have the best voice and energy and thats it.
All the Nightwish members are vital parts of this magnificient journey. Tarja's version is from the "End of an Era" (2005, Hartwall Arena Helsinki) and Floor's is from the "Showtime, Storytime" (2013, Wacken Open Air). I own both and they are excellent music entertainment. And the best Nightwish singer is of course Marko Hietala 😜. See you tomorrow! 👭👍

The ending piece of this magical concert. All the emotions are here on stage. Only the boys knew what is happening right after the song (and concert). This End of an Era is clearly the best live of this song.
Tarja is impressive and with a beautiful voice, a cute attitude and always interacting with the public, and although the Floorteam does not like it, Tarja and the rest of the first members of Nighwish made what the band is today, their voice combined with the powerful sound of the band forged the foundations of this and each of the members of Nighwish wears part of Tarja. That is why I do not understand why the Floorteam continues to attack Tarja when she was a fundamental part of what is now Nighwish
I agree!! With Tarja, Nightwish became the world-famous band, not bad Floor (nice singer) but the Nightwish will never be the same as it was with Tarja!

Even though everyone in the band other than Tarja knew it was the last concert... the chaotic youthful energy on stage was unmatched during End Of An Era. So playful, fun and nostalgic! I love both versions, like 2 different flavors of ice cream! You should for sure do more double reactions. I recommend Slaying the Dreamer (End Of An Era and Buenos Aires) or Wishmaster from the same 2 concerts.
The look on everyone's faces, when they realized the song, the concert was over and what they were going to have to do next.

what i miss with some of the older songs when floor sings them, is that deep darkness feeling in the song. that is what made me become a fan in the first place with my first songs being the kinslayer, wish i had an angel and wishmaster (album versions).
I don’t like it when Floor sings the old songs, in those songs don’t have the depth that Tarja brought !
Just noticed Emppu was happy to stand next to Tarja, but rarely stands still next to Floor 🤣 This was only the second song in the set from Wacken and Marko formally introduced Floor to the audience before the next song. Keep an eye on the way Marko keeps looking at Floor during Storytime. I don’t think he’d ever heard it sung so well before 😉

Floor and Emppu has their own games on stage - they deeply appreciate each other - and loves doing crazy things together.
At this point in the gig Emppu was still figuring out how to unplug Floor's in ears and survive the feat. As we know he did this later on I Want My Tears Back. =)
It al started in Holland with the gathering. With Anneke van giersbergen. She's in beste zangers now, please check out sing sing sing. You'll love her personality.
This was the last song from the last concert with Tarja. Right after this the band walked backstage and handed Tarja a letter dismissing her as the singer for Nightwish.. This is why you will notice how Tuomas raises his arms to hold his head.
Song #2 from Wacken. this was a big hit single from 2004. Next "She is my Sin", which allows Marko to finally introduce the fans to Floor. Floor usually tries to make her versions of Tarja's songs different. She respects Tarja and would never want to copy or imitate anyone. She likes to add some of her belting style, which I personally love. She you tomorrow Sabina! 💖😊💎🙏
Wish I had an angel will always remain a Tarja song for me (together with Dark chest of wonders). Tuomas wrote it with her voice in mind.

End of an Era was an epic Nightwish concert, even Tuomas commented on how great the concert came off, one of their best with Tarja. What also makes it so interesting to me, and I have watched the entirety at least 6 times, was the whole band had written and signed off on the Open Letter firing Tarja, and knew they were delivering it to her at the concert's end. I never hide my bias, I love Floor to death and feel she is perfect for Nightwish, and you can see the playfulness between her and Marko. Yes when Floor turns on that sensuality, you surely feel it, and then the intensity when she is singing aside with Marko, like yeah I got a little of that devil in me too. Both are great performances, different, but great in their own right. Nice reaction.

Floor es increíble, tiene una vibra metalera que emociona. Pero creo que los que crecimos escuchando discos como wishmaster, oceanborn, once, century Child, Angel for first, siempre vamos a tener cierta predilección por Tarja.
As great as the Tarja performance is, it always makes me sad because that was the very last song she performed with the band. Just look at Tuomas and Markos face after the song. Also, that scene at 3:45 is my favorite :-D. Go ahead and watch the official video sometimes, she looks absolutely gorgeous in that.

I have listened to both of them and I like both of the versions of this song! Marco just kills it on both....but Tuomas pouring beer into Emmpu's mouth is priceless! I actually think the Tarja version is closer to being heavy metal...my favorite genre of music!
I have to laugh when I see people being helped out of the pit!!! When you're my size...I could help the women crowd surf all by myself! ( I am 6'6"... or 1.98 meters! )

I think this show was shot by the same people who have done all their subsequent videos as well. So glad they got all the wacky camera push-ins and pull-aways, and wonky slow-mo bits, out of their system.

I feel there isn't enough comment on Floor's stage presence. It is stunning. She can stand like a mountain one minute and prowl around like a panther the next. She can also vamp. In other bands (After Forever, Revamp) she has shown her vulnerable side and her pissed off biker chick side (Disdain).
Agreed. It always seems to me like whatever she's doing on stage she's having the time of her life. She just enjoys performing so much and it's contagious.

Tarja have had her moments too and she is good vocalist but there is one big thing between her and Floor and as an Finn I can tell what it is because it comes from culture....And that issue is spiritual brake.
Tarja is had that brake on almost all the time because she is looking for perfection,no mistakes are aloud to do and everything must be so controlled as possible what comes to singing and movements.
In Finland we have metal bands per population more than any other country in the whole world and most of these bands will never go to gig because "they are not ready"...They have played 10-30 years at training places/basements/garages but they will not see day light because they have set limit "To be ready" so high.Do not step to the stage before you are ready and perfect,that is a common rule!
Sabina, as you said,Floor is sensual but she is also natural.She just let it go with passion and is not afraid to be "not perfect" and that makes her perfect!
Shortly,Floor goes "heart first" and with that comes stage charisma also.
This is just another in the long list of songs where the individual vocal flavor the singer gives it just adds to the excellence of the music. There are good versions of this song with Anette as the vocalist and even one with Elize Ryd singing during the Denver 2012 show. Thanks for both these versions!

Tuomas always has his wine bottle rack under his keyboard.
They are all so young in that first one. I am not really a fan of those early live videos because the guy that films all of their stuff was REALLY in love with fast zoom pulls, which is novice wedding videographer level stuff. He's much better by the time you get to Wachen 2013 although some of his editing choices are still frustrating.
I got into NW when Tarja was still with them, but I just enjoy Floor's live performances more. I always wonder if Floor gave Marco voice lessons or tips because I think his singing is much better when Floor is fronting them.
Part of that probably is, that Marco doesn't have to hold back when singing with Floor for fear of drowning her out.

Both versions are intense and wonderful. For me, Tarja plays more to the seduction of the song, and she seems to bring out the best in Marco in this song.
Both versions are very attractive to the ears.
Tarja is operatic only when singing. Floor can sing however she wants, however the song needs. Tarja's voice works very well with the band, and this song. Floor has more power, Floor can make you feel things you didn't think you could through a video. Tarja's version of this specific song got me hooked on Nightwish. However Floor's version is my favorite.

I'm a huge Floor fan, but this one song in particular I just really prefer the Tarja version. Floor always sounds so controlled and perfect. This song I think is meant to sound a little rough and unhinged. Tarja just brings a wilder energy to the song.

you should really check out Slaying the Dreamer from End of an Era. Tarja cuts loose on it and as always her stage presence in the way she interacts with her bandmates.
The last song ever performed by this lineup. Truly the end of an era. The last words shown on the DVD from the giant screen at the back of the stage: "and this is it." Haunting, as the band couldn't truly be sure of their future at that point. Luckily we still have them and will, I hope, for years to come.

I'm glad to see the comparison, but I personally very much prefer Floor's version. I agree with your comments about Floor's stage presence compared to tarja's, and I just feel like her less classical, more belted style suits the music better.

Great reaction. :) Can you react something from Tatja's solo career? Please react song "Victim of Ritual" live from Woodstock 2016, in her solo career you can see more emergy etc than when she was in Nightwish, and her own songs are amazing.
Aboit these two versions, I think Tarja's voice is more "diabolic" even if she singing with operatic style, because timbre of her voice is really dark and deep, it hear in all songs which she singing, better fits to this song. In her solo stuff you can hear more her dark chest voice, really dark and low. ;)
