Quick & Simple Western Red Cedar Candy Dish

This is a very quick and simple, one piece candy dish from a piece of scrap 2"x6" Western Red Cedar I had laying around in my shop. What better way to use up scraps than to make something out of them?

What kind of finish did you use? Some talk over would be nice.

You're right, I should do a voice over. I used home made shine juice. 1 part Boiled Linseed Oil, 1 part Shellac & 1 part denatured alcohol. It's a friction polish/French polish. The alcohol cuts the Shellac more and the friction of it turning shines and polishes it.

love the simple eleganse of the bowl. and the finish is just perfect.
the only downside after watching this video is me craving for some high tea snacks because it looks a lot like one of those dishes on those stands.
