  • I made this cutting board out of Black Walnut, English Walnut, Black Oak, Tanoak & African Zircote wood. I did the design on my computer to figure out the pattern that I wanted, and then built it from my drawing. I stuck with the design drawing and didn't veer off from it at all. I ran into a bit of a problem with the first glue up, but I fixed that, and this cutting board turned out very pretty. It should last for many many years of use.

Seth is so talented! I commissioned this cutting board for a birthday gift and it has exceeded expectations beyond words. His time and attention to detail really show in the quality of his work. The Marble Mountain Crafstman creates timeless pieces of art!

Thank you so much! I am currently working on making a woven cutting board with a lot of the same types of woods I used in this cuttingboard. The video will be out as soon as I finish making it. Hit the bell notification so you know when I post it. Thank you again! 🙂

Nice looking board. I like how you cut your juice grooves and your hand holds freehand. Jigs? You don't need no stinkin' jigs.

Thank you so much! I prefer to cut them by hand. I have very few jigs, as I do a majority of my work by hand. If you like this cutting board, you will love the next 2 woven cutting boards (hardest boards I've made to date) I will be posting up in a few days. Hit that subscribe button so you can see it when I post it.

Dude that pattern is fucking sick, I also liked the fact that u ran d board back thru planner with ends on it. Every body seems 2 freak out, but cutting board master MTM does d same thing. That pattern is sick so I’m stealing it, 🙏

Thank you so much for your kind compliment. I am very glad that you enjoyed this board. I do all of my designs with AutoCAD and then I draw it in 3D with the colors of the wood to see what it will look like. Running it through the planer with the sacrificial boards works great. It just keeps it from turning into toothpicks. Thank you again! :)

@@themarblemountaincraftsman8029 beautiful board and thank you for the humble way it was presented to us. does your planer use straight knives?

@@michaelanddiatra Thank you so much! I appreciate your kind compliment. At the time I made this video, my planer did have straight knives. I just did an upgrade to my Woodmaster to get the spiral cutterhead with 6 carbide rows on it. Spiral cutterheads are the greatest upgrade to a planer or jointer that I could suggest doing.

@@themarblemountaincraftsman8029 agreed. i have just ordered the shelix for my DW735. being able to run an end grain through the planer will be a much welcomed change.

That cutting board is simply beautiful. You wouldn’t possibly have plans for this cutting board that you might want to sell ? Did the 2 orbital sanders cut the sanding time down. I usually get my 8 year old grandson to do the sanding for me. He loves waring the respirator and eye protection.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate your kind words and that you liked it so much. I could probably recreate the design, but I recently had a hard drive failure on my other design computer where I had the plans for this. I lost a lot of stuff that I'm having to recreate.
Yes, the two orbitals actually did cut the sanding time down. End grain hardwood is really tough to sand down, and I was using 60 grit sandpaper. My daughter likes to sand as well. :)

Yes. I custom made this for an order I got. I custom design everything specifically for what people want. This went to a very wonderful person whom I've known since I was a little kid.
