Its different, its weird, its unique, its out of the box, its not a VAG product, its a Citroën and I love it.
I have a citroen c4 cactus diesel I've had it nearly 4 years now and im still loving it not bored with it yet and it's so reliable and comfortable to drive I'd give it 10 out of 10
Its been a hot minute since this comment, but as I'm in the market for a car, how long did you end up keeping the catcus? And did it stay reliable the whole time?
I'm probably a little bit biased sinced I'm a salesman for Citroën but I really like the cactus, probably my second favorite of our range after the ds5. I'm not a big fan of the rounded nose-dive design and I think it's a little bit too low but the interior makes up for it. The seats are amazing and super confy. It reminds me of the kind of atmosphere you had in older cars. The gauge-lessness is an interesting choice too, usually I,m more the kind of guy that likes having a trillion of gauges, for pressure, temperature etc but in the cactus it makes sense.
I have the car (turbo petrol) now for 3 years and I'm still delighted to drive it every time. It's comfortable but still fun to drive, because of its low weight. Fuel consumption is very low. At higher speeds it's not making any (engine nore road) noises. Build quality is also good.
Same here. I bought a used one (2016 make) in perfect condition and low milage summer 2019. Best Citroen I've ever had - and I have had a few. I smile every time I look at it, every time I get inside it and even more when I drive it. I just love it! : D
@Commendatore as a former Saab 93 and (of course) current cactus owner, I think the steering is probably a little lighter but equally precise with excellent city control and highway stability. Beautiful drive actually...
The car is fantastic. A friend just got one with diesel and automatic. Ridicoulus low usage on mpg. And the airbumps shold be a standard on all citycars.
Nice to see citroen making a weird car again
Citroen is incredibly smart for making this kind of car
"Thats a whopper!...I've not seen one of those for at least a decade!..." You're making me blush Vicky!
Lol
Airbumps need to be a thing. On every car destined for city driving.
+Trades46 Top gear made one simular along time ago xD when richard was eating a sandwich
on wich car??
For me different is good, so I like the cactus
***** The adventure model looks epic!
+Joohnba I would by the shit out that! Looks brilliant
This car is impressive to look at and awesome look
+Short Grey I think so too, loving it since the first time I saw it
This is a car to sit back and have a joint in. Brilliant.
I viewed this car the other day and thought the same thing lmao
Fifth gear gives pretty good info, I enjoy these team tests the most :)
French cars are so unique, especially Citroen
Plus Citroen has redefined the ultimate ride comfort for each and every car they make
I got the 1,6 BlueHDI diesel...very nice car
As mainly a hot hatch fan I absolutely love these, most people I know despise the look of them. I'd definitely have one as a cheap to run family car
I've taken my Cactus to germany, on mountains, up to scotland and over to ireland.
After having driven a lot of sporty Italian cars (Alfa, Maserati and Ferrari) I had to buy an additional family car to be able to bring along our dog, so we bought the Cactus Puretech (petrol turbo). It turned out to be cheap to run, but also incredible reliable, comfy and fun to drive ! It made me even decide to sell my Maserati Grancabrio MC, which not only costs a lot to run but gave me quite often a lot of stress (entering a car park, battery running out of energy, vulnerable wheels, ...). The Cactus is a real 'zen' sensation : it forces you to relax, to calm down, whereas all my previous Italian cars were constantly pushing me, which at some moments can be enjoyable but also makes you restless in every day traffic jams.
I drive the petrol Puretech 110 HP for 4 years now (65.000 km) and it's the best car I've ever owned : very comfortable, quick enough (thanks to its lack of weight and the torque at low revs) and very well build
How reliable Is the car and how is timing belt holding up ?
Hi to all, I have an own C4 Cactus in lilac. I am very very happy! A perfect car!
Patric Hellberg do you still have the kaktus 🌵 I’m looking for one from 2014 1.2 vti feel looks great
normally I don't like these kind of "jacked up wagons" but this one (were it to come to the US) I might actually buy.
I like how at 4:12 the airbump panels are saving his car but damaging the Skoda.
It didn't. you need to look better. You're looking at a reflection.
They said it was ideal for the Paris streets does that mean it's bullit proof as well
+Chris Murray go fuck yourself
I don't have any curtains, so everything you said was a lie
+Chris Murray what an awful but slightly humorous joke. It's a bit too early 'ol chap. Keep with the 9/11 jokes instead
+Carlos Yes, you can even drive through South L.A.
+Carlos Too soon bruv. Stick to 9/11 jokes. I r8 -8/8
thats my car!
Good, finaly a different car. The world doesn't need another boring golf.
Amen
Very cool car!
For those interest in the MPG. I have owned one for two years, a 1.2 110hp petrol manual. Real world, around town I get 48mpg and on long runs between 55mpg and 60mpg. Find another petrol, Focus sized car that gives that AND does 0-60 in 9.3 seconds.
One of the biggest scores I think
we seriously need this here in INDIA!!!
We need it here in Villamerica.
I like the car but the 3 cylinder petrol engine has the wet cam belt system that can lead to a completely destroyed engine when the belt sheds some of its rubber. This causes the engine oilways to become blocked causing catastrophic engine failure.
Like almost all new cars... That's why diesel is a better choice
Actually a loveable crossover! There aren’t many…
Side airbumps do not offer enough protection in car parks.
Don't park next to a Honda Civic. Their front doors are just a bit higher than the Cactus air bumps.
£2000 and 6 months later you may get you Cactus back with paint that doesn't ripple round the air bump. Yes you got it, the heat from the sun expands the air bumps hence pushes the paint off the doors.
Those Airbumps rubber bumpers are fucking golden.
The fuel economy, comfort and space is great. Fuel gauge is impossible to read. The side air bump things look like a couple of bath mats stuck to the side. I've hired it for trip in the UK. Makes a very good hire car. Thanks Europe car .
very nice car
Pick mine up tomo I can’t wait after watching this video 💜
How have you found it? I'm picking one up Friday
@@MerryMichael96 horrendous if I'm honest - it's veing returned after two weeks , engine fault , emissions fault , no power at all my old 1.4 astra was faster , cuts out , genuinely the most I've spent on the worst car I've ever purchased! Sorry I do hope you have better luck and enjoy yours !
I wonder what will happen to those airbumbs over time. When water and some sand gets between the door and the plastic. otherwise it looks like a fun car.
I like all the quirky cars like this one
Fantastic car :)
Looks like this will have to do now, Seeing as no more Top Gear.
james hartley Mat Watson from Carbuyer is better than this actually
Praji Mano No.
Yes, period
I would definitely buy the Citroen instead of pretty much Any other car..
It's perfect...
My coming one :)
I miss fifth gear
Wonder if the airbumps lower the insurance group.
Fun car but I hate that you don't get a rev counter and the rear windows don't open properly.
If it had windows that opened properly in the back then it be perfect!!!
I kind of disagree with this trend of cars that are hit proof (can be hit with shopping trolleys or objects alike, or can hit when opening the door). It's like big trunks, people become careless and forget all kind of things in them. Or with these light-hit proof side panels/spoilers/doors people will become less and less careful in parking lots and will scratch or slightly dent beautiful finishes of well taken care of cars.
But on the other side of the balance, when it comes to the defence against careless people opening the doors with their feet then yes, those well protected side panels will really work.
I was also amazed by the chic interior when I entered one and which kind of contradicts with the not-of-my-taste exterior. First thing that came into my mind was the Harry Potter series where in dusty bags or behind filthy train station walls one could find shiny and marvellous realities, objects and beings, everything cleaned and touched up to the perfect looks. So yeah, this Cactus is definitely a witch bag.
Review Mitsubishi's ASX (Outlander sport), please.
I really really wanted to like it, but I just can't :(
Those rubber sides really put me off.
I love the DS3 / DS4 - but this is one step to far (for me anyway).
I want to see more of these on UK roads, not those other dull and stupid crossovers
It you like to drive around in a big motorised cushion, this is the car for you. The perfect car for clumsy people.
So, you've driven one then? It's nippy, agile and fun to drive!
Citroën is my favourite brand!
אוהב מאוד את הסרטון הסברים מאוד טובים!!!!!.
nice car
that sideburn....
I drove this car through Ireland for two weeks.
The driver seat wasn't bad but it wasn't that great either. My mates had issues with the seats as well. Also, the automatic is horrible. The touch buttons are annoying as well and the system just stopped working sometimes. It does have a decent boot and you have a decent amount of spaces in the back. Two nines and an eight is way too high. More like triple sevens or even only a six.
It's time for some people to wake up and discover French cars.
+GymChess I totally agree. Rings road side assistance "Oh Man my Cars Cactus come help." road side replies "what sort of car you driving" "It's Cactus" Roadside, "yeah, WHAT SORT OF CAR ARE YOU DRIVING?" "It's a CACTUS" Roadside, "Yeah you said it was Cactus, What sort of car is it?" "Its a - Citroen C4 Cactus." Roadside "OH"
I agree
How many times was the word 'quirky' uesed? I lost count.
where is this car ESC Test ?
The rear windows do not roll down ?!
+DigitalYojimbo Nope , it's the stupid hinged windows like you see in silly mini cars like the Suzuki Alto .
The low weight and low price have to come from somewhere. But be honest, rear passengers only use the rear windows for some fresh air. And for that, this works just as good.
Half a report - the car does not have opening windows on the rear doors - and split folding rear seats aren't available at all, so despite some unusual and clever features, it is missing the most basic features. No mention of how well the little petrol engine performed either.
+Jon Stride yes, my brother's rental from the National car rentals, been on test, the rear doors have the glasses that open partially, but they would be like , how do I explain? hinged at the front and a centre latch, that would allow it to be locked open or close in position. The little petrol engine on my brother's CACTUS have tons of power, though a little too quick , if not careful, it could give you a speeding ticket.\
This car has an extreamly loud RadiatorFan
Tiff, you're holding the 8 upside down.
How can it weight a 1000KG?
It looks nice without the bubble wrap lol
.. But how did it handle.... And the steering?
+Greystone1111 It handles great, it have a nice feel to it, only on pot holes, it seems to have no shocks, more noticeable at the back, the front is well behaved, `electric steering, its good, my brother would buy one if Citroens were sold in Canada.
It handles like a marshmallow
If it gets the 1.6l ds3 racing engine then I would be interested
yeah and 4wd from mini... just epic...
cool
Next car from Citroen: Bulletproof C4 made for Paris, they could call it C4 Antiterrorista Cactus.
My Dad once drove one and he couldn't figure out how to operate the car's heater
why does jonny boy have fresh sneakers all the time!
It looks like a normal car with some egg boxes glued on.
Id drive the shit outta this in the states. With a bit of a power boost of course.. About 180-200 hp.
i approve
Telling you when to change gear is ridiculous. Future drivers will only have to learn the basics soon with all the tech.
mi piace questa macchina per famiglia
Just a touch over a metric ton? Really? Just how crash worthy is that thing?
DocWolph Ever seen how a 1-tonne Renault Modus punches through a 1.6 tonne Volvo estate?
I just had that car as a rental in Italy. It was a brand new car, 380 km-s on the clock and I sure can not agree with the part about the ride. I mean it is pretty soft and comfortable at city speeds but something is not right about the rear suspension. Should you drive through hole (quite a lot of those in Italy), the rear end will sway like crazy and you can even feel it at city speeds not just on the highway. The speed limit on the highways is 130km/h but at that speed this car already starts to feel unstable. My score would have definitely been quite a few points lower...
Waht about air hybrid car C3 ??????
can any one say ??
4:22 this is why Top Gear was more popular than Fifth Gear...
Why?
4:30 fifth gear *hits car with trolley* mmm very good
If only it looked slightly better & wasn't a Citroen
No Original Top Gear and now no Fifth Gear anymore... sad times
I loathed this car when it came out.... and i'm still not exactly thrilled about it. BUT it might actually be one of the most sensible cars out there. but a hatchback without 40/60 split backseat will not get my vote 😁 it kind of works against the practical philosophy of this car. with not-so-careful kids this could actually be a smart buy..
so handsome but im contemplating between ssangyong and cactus
oh look same car as carbuyer channel ;)
Am I the only one bothered by their ways of rating? It being 1-30. The cactus got great scores, yet a 26/30 looks poor.
I miss Plato.
The only thing un French like in France, are the cars.
Vive La France ! Vive La Citroën !
Please I want to buy one cactus but I am afraid of the French cars .... what about the quality? Somebody to help me! I want diesel 1.500cc automatic...
Leave it to Citroen to be weird and quirky.
How the hell did that behemoth weigh in at 1020kg?
HYPE! alt24 Weight reduction technologies used by Peugeot like the high density low weight metal
HYPE! alt24 Just look at the floppy door @ 3:48 ;)
+scabuVSmatt That isn't floppy. It was the way that Tiff opened the door
+HYPE! alt24 It's not that big...
WTF WHERES JASON PLATO?
But really? a 3 cylinder? if i want a 3 cylinder i would buy a grass mower...
Get used to it. Times are changing.
Totally Winning Pro Gamer Yeah, fuck teslas
/Chooêt\ No, Teslas are awesome. #InstantTorqueLife
Totally Winning Pro Gamer Hell No.
/Chooêt\ Hell yes.
citroen got better points than a macan ... rofl
Uh ya...it's better than a macan
Ramandeep Saund lol
why dont you try Indian cars?
I've thought for years, hmmm, what my car needs is some matrasses taped on the side to prevent damage. NOT
It's probably based on a 2008
It’s all very that the soak up the collision but they are still bound to get marked or show scuff marks and your not going to be so blaise about it either🤨
