I am 65 yo female and I have been solo Rving for 10 years. I do a lot of boondocking. I have solar power and a generator. So much freedom to just be in nature. I have a BTOURING Cruiser by Gulfstream.
I love you. This is my plan if my husband goes before me. He's a home body. We had a antique 1974 rv that I could set up by myself. Our friends were across the road at the campground. Her husband is a ass. Kept asking me if I needed help. I told him if I needed help it would not be from him. I needed to back up on a ramp to get it level. I did it first try. Didn't know a lady was watching me and later complimented me on my bravery and skill. Lol
Aw, thanks! And yay to women with skills! Good for you showing him up. I and lots of other women I know sometimes leave our spouses and partners at home when we travel. That's why I call myself solo not single.
My husband is a home body too but he says he will give it a try and if it’s ok then we will buy one and start travelling. I can’t wail, I’ve been having bad health and this is what keeps me going.
We are going to rent a Rv B for a week and move 2 times to see how it goes but I know my husband he will find something wrong. And if not I will buy a small one for myself.
I hope you find one that works for you. Good idea renting first. And if you decide to travel on your own, a lot of women I know leave their spouses at home for various reasons and travel solo so there's community out there. :)
@@SimplyDandeIt's Saturday evening and my best friend(husband) and I are getting our new-to-us mobile home buttoned up for winter. Fully covered the ground under with plastic, underpin and we are set. In 3 years we will be retiring and dreams of hitting the road and we can't wait. We're going a lot smaller for boondocking and fuel cost. I'm a new sub so I don't know how to greet you but HELLO FROM N.C. Wow. You're an amazing self sufficient, intelligient, independent woman! My only suggestion is hook up everything before slide outs. God bless and protect you.
Thanks so much! I honestly find the RV pretty easy to drive but it is mentally taxing. I drove for about 8 hours yesterday and was very ready to be done by the time we got here. Lots of very bumpy roads, traffic, construction, and being on the lookout for low bridges.
I am 67 and will get RV class B soon after thinking for long time. From watching all retired women that make me brave. I am glad that I make this decision before too late.

Can I drive our class C 30 footer motorhome. But, you are strong & brave for traveling by yourself & driving & taking care of your big class A. I love those. Stay safe!!!
Nicely done backing your Class A into that spot! I’m a newby RVer. I recently rented a 30 foot Class C for the very first time. It took a few days’ practice before I could confidently back in anywhere. The rental didn’t have a backup camera either, so there was a lot of ‘stop and look’. I’m seriously considering buying a Class A in the near future. Thanks for sharing, subscribed!
When I bought this it only had the standard backup camera. I had all the other cameras installed along with a hard drive so that it records if there are any incidents on the road. It will also record if there's any vandalism, if I have the camera system running. I'm glad you were able to drive it and back it up confidently after a few days of practicing! I also prefer the Class A over the Class C. I like being up really high and being able to see everything. With the Class C you're kind of low to the ground and you have that overhang. It's great for the sun not being in your eyes, but it's kind of like wearing a baseball cap all the time.

I’m a 67 year old woman and have been driving a 35 foot Class C with a tow car for 5 years. Before that I drove many Class A motor coaches up to 45’ with a tow vehicle through out my life. Yes it is funny when you see people that literally can not back up a rv, sometimes it’s funny, sometimes it’s frustrating watching their buddies or partner trying to direct them and the last thing they want is some old lady to show them how. When it comes to setting up I have a routine I stick to and never deviate from it then everything runs smoothly and gets done within 15 minutes. I also travel with a male mannequin in the passenger seat not only to deter maybe a bad person but funny enough also for company! I don’t trust my dog, she’s more likely to lick your face then to protect me. RVing is just not the same anymore and I plan to quit and slow down, or maybe I’m just getting old and cranky! Long gone are the days you could just drive and stop were ever you wanted and get a campsite. I see a lot of campgrounds no longer are having pot lucks for all ages but seem to focus on activities for kids if even that. As the world spins because of digital, people have forgotten how to mix and get along with new people you meet at campgrounds they just rather be by themselves or small groups. Sad.
Thanks for stopping by! I often travel with my husband, adult kids, and/or friends and just make sure the door is locked when I'm inside when I'm alone. Have you gotten together with some women's RV and camping groups? I've met some great friends and travel buddies that way!

I especially appreciated the care you took in checking the water pressure and using the circuit analyzer. Watching you handle all of this solo is truly inspiring! It would be amazing to see more moments of your interaction with the pedals while driving-I love how you manage the motorhome with so much style, especially wearing your clogs. If possible, showing more of these details while driving with different shoes would be fantastic. Great job on the video!

WOW ! You just popped up here🎉 I am impressed. Years ago I had to get a commercial license where I worked since we transported our Clients to medical appointments & field trips. Driving the wheelchair van was easy , however the big school bus intimidated me !! Then several years later my husband & I lived in a 30 foot Class A motorhome. I did NOT like driving it either !! Preferred my JEEP WRANGLER that we towed.
Fair play lady, well done on your travels,I admire your courage and determination on your travelling solo 👍🏻👍🏻 ,many yearn to travel like yourself, but few have the courage and confidence 🤔👍🏻
As a safety measure on ours we can't put the slides out with the engine running. That prevents someone accidentally putting a slide out while driving. A pair of channel lock pliers will help with your water connections.
Different RVs, different safety mechanisms! For ours the parking brake must be engaged for the slides to go out. Yeah, I'm definitely putting some pliers in that compartment.
You did very well indeed. Beautiful RV. As an avid camper, I can appreciate the backing in and setting up. I would love to have had a tour of the inside.
Thanks so much, and you too! Honestly, up until a few days ago my channel was mostly just foster kitten videos. Lol! Thanks so much for stopping by! ♥️♥️
I was so impressed by your camera and how you backed up! When I went to Amazon, it does not have very good reviews, but I am definitely going to look for a multi camera system seeing the ease that you parked. An RV is not for me, but I do travel in my 40 foot school bus that I am converting. I am a 62 year old disabled grandmother that travels solo with my dogs for suicide awareness. I don’t go anywhere I have to back up lol! But with the type of camera system you have, I will definitely change that! Thank you so much for the video. I subscribed and I’m going to check out your channel. JeffeysMom 👍🏻👨🦼🚍🐾🏕️❤️✌️
Thanks so much for subscribing! When I bought the RV it only had one backup camera, and this system that I got installed has been super helpful. Maybe I was one of the lucky ones with this model? Congratulations on the bus! Sounds like you're doing great and worthwhile work. Enjoy your travels! ♥️
@@SimplyDande thankyou, sadly I have been doing this since October 8, 2016 when I lost my 27-year-old son Jeff. I just upgraded to the Bus in November from a handicap minivan.
Ahh the luxury of having a backup camera. I solo drove a 28' class A, RV. for about 10 years. Loved it, give me a parking space of 1 car length and a half, in a three point move I could sit perfectly between 2 other vehicles. People were amazed how easy I made it look to park that monster. Sadly though I had to sale it, it got too expensive to maintain it to be road worthy. You do have to have a lot of finances for maintaince. Not to mention fuel and such. My opinion it truly is worth having one, at least once in a lifetime.
Sounds like you both had a good run. :) Yeah, I just laid out $2k last month for brakes and rotors. Would you consider a van instead? I also minivan camp and love the reliability and gas mileage.
hello i'm new to ur y.t channel watching from pilippines.i admire ur activities specially driving that big beautiful RV.tank u for sharing stay safe always and god bless
Great straightforward demonstration! Do you plan more living and cooking and spending evenings in the RV? A video showing your prep for trips would be great.
Nice job. Enjoyed the video. Wish more young people would learn to live simple. There needs to be more abilities to park a rig for an extended time as needed for working. But you don’t need a house to be happy. Also home schooling can be a great advantage as you travel with children.
I wish more women, in particular, had confidence to take on things like driving RVs? Parking well makes me feel proud. Home school? No thanks. I didn't have the self-discipline for that. I loved taking the kids all over, though.
Nicely done! I get weird looks when I drive our long wheel base Land Rover around here with a 12ft trailer full of wood! I'm 75, and I don't care. Jo in France 🇫🇷
You might try using rubber gloves when hooking the water line. I had to tighten and re-tighten until I started using my gloves. Such a small thing but boy does it make it easier. Nice rig.
I am also a solo RVer. 68 and I love the Road and the enjoyment of seeing our beautiful country.

Driving the wheelchair van was easy , however the big school bus intimidated me !! Then several years later my husband & I lived in a 30 foot Class A motorhome. I did NOT like driving it either !! Preferred my JEEP WRANGLER that we towed.
Thanks! I love driving this rig. :) It's definitely not for everyone though. :)
Fantastic job you did
Thank you!
Fair play lady, well done on your travels,I admire your courage and determination on your travelling solo 👍🏻👍🏻 ,many yearn to travel like yourself, but few have the courage and confidence 🤔👍🏻
Thank you! ♥️
Thank you for sharing and inspiring!🙏🏾🙏🏾😍😍😎😎
Thank you, I'm so glad you enjoyed it! 😊
You did very well indeed. Beautiful RV. As an avid camper, I can appreciate the backing in and setting up. I would love to have had a tour of the inside.
Thank you! I have a few other videos on my channel showing most of the inside. 😊 I'll make a full tour video at some point, too.
Hi Ellen
Hope you are having a good day today. I didn't know you had a channel. Great driving. Have a wonderful day
Thanks so much, and you too! Honestly, up until a few days ago my channel was mostly just foster kitten videos. Lol! Thanks so much for stopping by! ♥️♥️
Very good job backing into your site.
Thank you!
JeffeysMom
👍🏻👨🦼🚍🐾🏕️❤️✌️
Thanks so much for subscribing! When I bought the RV it only had one backup camera, and this system that I got installed has been super helpful. Maybe I was one of the lucky ones with this model? Congratulations on the bus! Sounds like you're doing great and worthwhile work. Enjoy your travels! ♥️
@@SimplyDande thankyou, sadly I have been doing this since October 8, 2016 when I lost my 27-year-old son Jeff. I just upgraded to the Bus in November from a handicap minivan.
I'm so sorry about your son! 🙏
@@SimplyDande thank you very much. Hopefully Jeff’s story will save some lives.🙏
My thoughts are with you.
Wow love your rig it is beautiful you be safe
Thank you!
Wow! Very interesting. I really appreciate that you took the time to show hook up. I’d love to have this kind of adventure in my life. Good for you!
Thank you so much!
I am so impressed by you!
Thank you!
Inspiring and inspirational✌️
Thanks so much!
@@SimplyDande I had a van I was converting before I got the RV. Now I drive a small pickup. Big adjustment.
That is a big adjustment, indeed. Safe travels!
Just found your channel. You’re living my dream. I’ll have to go back and watch more of your videos to catch up. Subscribed.

You owned that camping spot! Great backing skills. You are so calm. If you talk to yourself like you talk on video, no wonder you can do anything.
That's so sweet, thank you! I do talk to myself like that. 😆
Wow! Your rig is huge! Very nice!
Thanks! I do minivan camping, too, but I also really like having all this space. :)
Good girl! You handle things supi!!!❤

That’s a really nice rv you have!
Thanks!
Great straightforward demonstration! Do you plan more living and cooking and spending evenings in the RV? A video showing your prep for trips would be great.
Thank you! I will make a video about prepping for a trip next time I do so. :)
Nice video !,, and thank you very much!! You are appreciated!!
Thank you so much! ❤
Love the video have Fun❤
Thank you! ♥️
Good work 👍
Thank you!
Love how you take your cricket with you on your dashboard.
Oh you saw that, huh? LOL!
❤❤❤ You're amazing. ❤
Thank you so much!! ♥️♥️
looks great, good job!
Thank you! ❤️
Nicely done! I get weird looks when I drive our long wheel base Land Rover around here with a 12ft trailer full of wood! I'm 75, and I don't care. Jo in France 🇫🇷
Lol! Good for you!!
You’re an inspiration.
Aw, thank you. ❤️
OMG you so ROCK!!!
Thank you!

Thanks, you too, and thanks for subscribing!
Thank you for your post!
Thank you for your note!
I too am a solo gal, have been RVing for 15 years, I am 63!
Great to meet you!
Nice rig, good job....
Thanks!
I’ve been waiting for a video like this❤
Aw, thanks! I'm glad it was helpful!
You might try using rubber gloves when hooking the water line. I had to tighten and re-tighten until I started using my gloves. Such a small thing but boy does it make it easier. Nice rig.
Good tip, thanks!
Love the shoes, I have the same.
Thanks!
GOOD JOB.
Thank you! ♥️
Thank you
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Great idea having your gloves and disinfectant etc right on the inside of the hatch containing the dump hose.
Thanks! I added those myself!
We blow water through the water hose before attaching it to our rv. Cleaner water.
Yeah, I should do that, thanks for the suggestion!
