Thank you for a very thorough and helpful review. But I get nervous every time someone suggests using a composting bag for poop. Composting bags are made to compost, that is, they start breaking down and deteriorating when they are exposed to moisture. And even though the sawdust or coir or whatever you use helps dry it out, there will still be some degree of moisture. Depending on how long you let the poop sit before you dump it, you run the danger of having the bag fall apart when you pull it out. And nobody needs that to happen!! 🤮 I use them in my 5 gal food waste compost bucket in my S&B and I have to be careful about emptying it if it's been sitting a while. Just something to consider.
I get you! It's one of the reasons why I double bag - for security. But, yes, I do change it often.
I have the Dash 9 cup one, and it makes really good grilled cheese sandwiches! OK, now I'm hungry for some grilled cheese sandwiches. 😆
Lol! That's why I wanted this size and shape, too! I love grilled cheese. 😊
@@SimplyDande 👍🙂
I love the explanations as you video ty!
Thanks so much!
Q: When you put out the slides, are you able to use the storage drawers underneath? Thanks, April p.s. You have a beautiful rig! I want one someday!
Yes, I am!! Thanks, I hope you get one, too!
When you put out the rare slide out you could see a tremendous drop in the slide out as it was coming out very off balance.
Thanks for the feedback!
Personally, I would prefer cast iron or a frying pan! 😊
I totally get that! I'll be bringing this minivan camping with me. I have a propane camping stove but while inside the van, the idea of an open flame scares me, so a small electric device like this is ideal. I could get a low wattage hotplate but this is fun. :) Even if I get a low wattage hotplate, though, I'll be using a non-stick pan, not cast iron. I can't imagine cleaning cast iron while on the road.
@@SimplyDande I understand the “open flame” thing. I do!
Nice, but why didn't you back into the site instead of having to back out?
For the water view!
Very good job thank you. That took some work, organized and good writing and reading, i have had mine for a bit, i have not used the poo tank yet but just the urine tank. It does leak a little. I sometimes use water to rinse the pee bowl and find it splashes onto the poo door, so that is something to watch for. The top lid also comes off too easily. I had the same issue you had emptying the urine container, i put the holed cap into the cap holder on its top and when i dumped the tank that lid flew off, so dont take the holed cap with you when dumping and hold onto the holed cap or put it on the regular toilet's top during dumping. Also take a cup of water to rinse it out and the cap. I also find during emptying or rinsing the outside of the tank should be wiped. This dampness will enter the huge inner area of the toilet and needs to be wiped dry. There was a problem with the holed lid's gasket, they provide 2 to double it up. i find i have a little leak there somehow - still trying to figure that out. In terms of smell, with urine in my tank for over a week - ZERO smell. it's incredible. pee in a bottle, open the bottle - it smells. i think it has to do with the small opening and the lack of another hole - so there is zero air flow from the urine tank and the lid is closed - there is just no airflow to cause any smell to circulate. every use or 2nd use i spray the urine bowl with some lavendar scented countertop cleaner - as i have lots, and it seems to do the trick. sometimes i will rinse with water that i have in my dehumidifier. Other than the splash into the poo sliding door, no problem. This could be because it is dark and late or i am pouring from too high? One small pet peev is this sliding door is black. i think it should be orange or lighter so that if you are half asleep you can see it's there and needs to be moved. I hope i dont use #2 without sliding open that door, i can't imagine how difficult that would be to clean.
Thanks for your compliments and for sharing your experience. I'm glad you're enjoying the composting toilet. I think you've made some great observations that will be useful to others! I also found when I poured water into the pee tank to test the level that it would splash over if I did it from too high up. But during use, when I'm sitting, my body is lower and also creates more of a natural seal on the divider. I had some scale build up around the gasket and didn't notice a second gasket in my box. Great suggestion on making the slider a different color! You should write to them!
your house on Wheels is a gas or diesel..
Gas.
It was funny watching the letter mail carrier in the video zipped past you inside the van both directions obviously in the United States the mail gets delivered to your home mailbox very different than Canada depending upon where you live in every province it varies 😊
I only noticed him on his way back to his truck! Normally the mail gets delivered to the box at the street, but he was dropping off a package to the door. :)
Greetings it's your regular viewer from southern Ontario Canada I really enjoyed the video especially when you are so creative and inspiring to us people who wouldn't have thought of this idea in the first place I have a tent that I bought at Canadian tire it works on minivans, sport utility vehicles and regular 8 passenger vans like the ford econoline looking forward to seeing the next presentation cheers
Hi and thanks! I'm planning on a trip to FL this winter to meet up with some of my groups. I was thinking of going in the RV but ultimately decided on the minivan. So the conversion begins. :) Do you have a hatch tent? That's what I have for mine.
Thanks for sharing. As always great job.
Thanks so much! ♥️
So, when you sit to poop, you need to pull that slide out each time? (By the way, I love your videos. So detailed and well done.)
Thank you so much! Yes, you need to open the door to the tank any time you want to add to it. Assuming you shut it after using it, which you don't have to.
I like the tip you have on easy clean up. Thanks.
You're welcome! I do this at home, too.
Thanks for the good explanation. Ordered mine direct from Joolca during black Friday sales.
I hope you're happy with it! I'm excited to see what you think once you get it set up.
Great job
Thanks!
@ mine will come in February
That's great, I hope it works out well for you!
Nice job, nice looking RV !
Thanks!
I'm going to give you my thoughts. Short dresser and tall dresser switched them. Then at the end of your bed you could reach the short dresser for cooking area. I don't like the short dresser being right. Behind your driver's seat, because if you need to get in your driving seat to get out of an area where you feel uncomfortable, you don't have that choice because it's blocking it. I think you're getting the most room by having your bed over your seat. I would keep it there and work with the rest with different scenarios. Another cool idea that I saw on another page is making little cardboard templates of your dresser, bed, toilet, and things
I really appreciate the feedback. If I have the bed over the passenger seat, I can get into the driver's seat easily that way, so I can have whatever I want behind the driver's seat. I'll keep playing with this. Thanks for the ideas!
Have fun with the build. I converted a Promaster City cargo van into a micro camper a few years ago. I’m thinking of dolly towing it behind our new to us Class A that we just purchased. The idea is to use the Promaster as a daily explorer when we’ve ‘landed’ at a camp ground.
I've thought of towing a vehicle behind my class A. Still considering it, especially for long trips. Usually if we're just within a few hours away, one of us will drive a car and the other will drive the RV.
This is very smart way of working. I love the cat checking out the work.
Thanks! We've got 4 curious critters here. 😄
Good morning from NC and thanks for sharing this idea!! My plans of using the "furniture" of a 1965 HiLo in a box truck will be much better,(a lot less trial and error), if I make a template first!!
Thanks, I love doing this sort of planning. It's so helpful to see it both on paper and in reality. Good luck with your build!
Et la ceinture c'est une option ????
It is an option.

And don't forget to put all your spare keys around your NECK. You don't want to get locked out. This is the only thing I learned from 2 years in the army. DOG TAGS can be a life saver.
I appreciate your concern! Thankfully, we have an electronic lock and the door cannot lock by accident.
Math is not my strong suit, especially when talking about things I don't understand like Amps/Watts etc. So I would appreciate your help on this... i have a 2700 watts Ecoflow. Will it run my 1800btu AC? Thanks so much
Hi, yes, if the watts of your power station (continuous not peak) are higher than the watts of the appliance, the power station will run it. The question is for how long. That's where the watt hours comes into question. An 1800btu air conditioner will use 1800 watt hours each hour. If your power station is 1024 watt hours, it will drain the battery after about half an hour. Which power station do you have? I'm not seeing an ecoflow that is 2700 watts.
I live in a very hot state. During the summer, is it best to store the unit inside my camper while i'm camping, and the AC is running? is that safe to do?
If the vehicle is comfortable for you, it is safe for your power station. 🙂
Wow, great information and you explained it so well. Thank you! Question: is it ok to leave a power station un-charged for extended periods of time when not in use or is it better to recharge when it goes low?
Thank you! LiFePO4 batteries discharge very slowly. It's a good idea to use them a little every 2 months or so and recharge them to 60%. I'd recharge if they dropped to 20% on their own though.
Thank you!
Happy Holidays to you and our UA-cam friends
Thank you! To you too! ❤️
I'm learning a lot. I have a lot to learn and am intimidated by my power station. Can I safely charge my power station by plugging into a regular wall socket? What steps do I take?
Yes, you can safely charge your power station from a wall outlet with the cord that came with it. If there is no cord that came with it, let me know! When you plug it in, it will charge automatically and stop when it reaches 100%.
Greetings from your regular viewer of the channel from southern Ontario Canada looking forward to seeing more of your rv trips in the future Ciao 😊
Thanks! I'm hoping to get some more RV trips in soon. ❤️

Hi Ellen Hope you are having a good day today and had a great Thanksgiving. Your videos are very informative, thank you
I am, thank you, and hope the same for you! Thanks for watching and commenting. ♥️
I have more privacy in my backyard along with the pool. I just don’t see the excitement if I wanted to enjoy the wildlife I would go into the woods and set up a tent and camp for a week.
I totally get you! I can barely see neighbor's houses from my house and some campgrounds are so crowded that you can see what's on their plates for dinner while they're sitting at their dinettes. However, if it's the ocean, a special place like Assateague, or a group gathering, I'll put up with close neighbors.
This was a great video. That’s why I gave you the nickname “The Power Lady” you are great at taking difficult concepts and putting them into layman’s terms. I’m so proud to call you a friend. 👏🏾❤😊
Aw, thank you so much! I'm so glad you found it helpful! I'm proud to call you my friend, too. ❤️
I have a question. I am a little confused about watt hours. I understand the watt. But I can't figure out the difference from say 1078 wh or 2078 wh. Both stations would be 1800 watts
Watt hours is the amount of power you can draw over time (like a gas tank). The more watt hours it has, the heavier it is and the longer you can use it for before you have to recharge it.
1078 will keep one room ( lights, computer, TV ) for 3 days 7 hours per day, and 2078 will keep it on for 6 days 😊
Great video - finally beginning to understand this topic! Did you post a picture of the chart that you showed about the different power stations and their capabilities - thx
Thanks! I did not, but you might want to take a screen shot. 🙂

Helpful? This is a GODSEND...from someone who's watched LOTS of UA-cam videos, trying to get BASIC info on power stations!! This is exactly what my husband & I needed to help us understand the products and make a purchase decision. You're a natural teacher, and we appreciated your calm, slower speaking (compared to lots of videos & reels). THANKS A MILLION!! We're looking forward to the next ones in your series, especially solar panels because we want to buy the battery & solar panels together and ensure they're compatible.

Thank you for such a great video on power stations. I am interested in the BLUETTI Portable Power Station AC180, 1152Wh LiFePO4 Battery Backup w/ 4 1800W (2700W peak) AC Outlets, 0-80% in 45 Min., Solar Generator for Camping, Off-grid, Power Outage. I need some clarification on what was said about the cord. I think you said we would not be able to buy one while on the road because it is a proprietary one. So I emailed the BLUETTI company and they said I could buy one any place. So now I’m really confused. Were they just telling me that so I would buy their power station? Did i misunderstand what was said in the video? Thank you for your help in this matter. Gratefully, Lynn
I looked at the online manual and it looks like it also uses a standard power cord so you should be all set!
Thank you for finding that information for me. I appreciate you so much. I tried to check else where, but couldn’t find anything about the cord. I’m going to purchase it then for my Ford Transit Connect Thank you so much❣️
