- An incredible subscriber milestone reached. Thank you all so much for your support. What a wonderful way to start the day. Some awesome lure fishing resulted in a few nice fish and a colossal PB. Then some challenging drift fishing for flat fish produced another fantastic specimen. All in all an amazing day.

As an Angler myself, my heart rate shot through the roof when I saw how fast you made for the net on seeing that Plaice! Lovely fish.

@@TheFishLocker i am usually fishing in Brittany and there it is so easy to catch huge wrass. During my vacation last year my cousin and i caught 4 wrass that were all around 60cm long and 11 pounds heavy. These fish are actually quite pesky there.

That Wrasse was only a couple of pounds under the UK record. Brilliant video. Congrats on 200000.Well deserved.
When I was a lad fishing out of Plymouth in the early 70's wrasse this big were, if not exactly common, but caught more often than now and again - if that makes sense. However, like many species out on the shore, reefs and wrecks around the Eddystone, the bigger ones were fished near on out of existence. Not many of us had a catch and release ethic in those days. Thank goodness for people like John setting such a great example.
"I think I'll go fishing to celebrate!" really sums up what I like about your style - your unremitting cheerful enthusiasm for what you do! You remind me of the late Steve Irwin in that way, and I say that as the highest possible compliment.
Steve Irwin was one of a kind and is missed by the world.

Honestly John, at 75 yrs. I've never, ever fished for anything. Yet I'm back watching your channel so I am probably hooked. There's just something about watching you fish that is so calming and I have watched your videos for literally hours and hours since I came across your channel. A++ First Congratulation on your 200,000 subscriber milestone, don't thank us, we thank you for the amazing selection of videos on fishing, exploring, underwater, foraging and sharing your family life with us the viewers. When the video started you were grinning like a Cheshire cat and although you wouldn't have known it then my feeling was we are in for something special, you certainly did not disappoint. Starting with Pollack (most anglers would take home) you put them back. Then we had the stunning Ballan Wrasse (also put back) a new p.b. so congratulations again for that. The odd tips that I would never of thought of like securing your lure to the rod. Finally we had that magnificent Plaice (going to your father in law). Viewing just does not get better than that and the smile on your face just got wider and wider. Anyway enough rambling on, just know you bring a lot of warmth into our household and thanks for your brilliant posts.
