nice video, my 2015 suburban emblem on front and back of the gold have like 2 layers, well 3 considering the chrome around the gold. I'm afraid when I lay the overlay it's going to have a lot of air bubbles since there's a 90 degree with the layers in the gold part. any advice?

How does this affect the chrome resilience in the future? Seems like using a razor to cut through the overlay would all cut through your chrome plating; this could lead to hazing down the road.
Chroming of plastic components involves a palladium base layer, then reacted to leave only tin, followed by a copper base layer, followed by series of dull nickel and bright nickel layers. Using a razor blade may allow moisture to get down below the bright nickel; thus, leading to early hazing.

does this count as a high mount light ? if you disconnect high mount and use the bowtie as brake light...does it pass inspection?

You know they carry utility knifes to hold the blade. So much easier to use a brand new one which is only like 2.50 or 5 bucks. Don't matter but safety is guaranteed instead pf holding the blade 😂

They have different ones on their website, but that looks like matte.

Why do Chevy owners black out their emblems? So annoying...
HAHA! JK. I did the same on my 2013 Impala. Looks a lot better. The contrast with the solid white paint looks really nice; specially at the rear (my Impala has no chrome trim like previous models). Also, it creates a really nice effect on the front grill, since you only see the chrome edges of the bowtie.
I think I used the same overlay. I had no idea what I was doing, but it worked out nicely. Looks factory and it's been nicely in place for almost 4 months now.
