Your way of resizing the emotes is so great! I've had a lot of ppl ask me how to resize in procreate since doing resizing using the resize option looks pretty crappy. I'll def have to try this method! Thanks for the extra info on your methods of making emotes in procreate, very useful!
only about 3 minutes in and i love how you go over health in the frst part of the view. Thanks so much for sharing your trips and being caring. I too sit on the couch and draw on my ipad, only to be in pain after just an hour. My neck and back!! great video
New to procreate and digital art in general. Learned so many helpful tips that I hadn't discovered yet while playing with the program! Cannot thank you enough!
This is super helpful, when I made emotes in the past and they were too small. Also to help with avoiding the unwanted marks, you can set your iPad to only draw with the pen. It also makes it easier for procreate to recognize shortcuts
This is so helpful. I used procreate to make my first emotes and I made some silly mistakes. Will definitely reference this while making emotes from now on. Thank you!
I made an emote for my boyfriend's twitch channel since he's just starting out and I have not found a video as detailed as this one! I loved the video and your little emote pun. Will subscribe on here and follow on twitch!

I've never ever done digital art nor chibi style in my life but I've been wanting to try and create emotes for my streamer friends and this was so helpful and amazing! I'm feeling even more motivated to go and try but I don't know if I'm delusional for thinking I could do this when I've never done it before.
@@VideogameShay awwww thank you so much for the encouragement. I'm going to get an Apple pencil and start following your tutorials and see what comes out of that!

No issues at all when doing it within the app like I showed! I've had some issues when using free services online for resizing, because of the way they reorganize the pixels, it can look a little bit fuzzy when you bring it down to the 28 pixels.
I've been hang lots of transparency issues on my ipad! Everytime I save transparent image either one sent to me or one i create on procreate a white BG ends up getting attatched and I dont know how to solve this issue! I want to create my own emotes and stickers but I keep getting stuck with white backgrounds
Just a little question. I was wondering how you get your lines so crisp? When I draw on such a small canvas obviously the pixels look very defined. Just wondering if there’s a way to minimize that?

Hi there, for adding shadows to the specific layer, how do you select just that layer to stay within and then shade on a new Layer? I didn’t see which tool you selected to do so. Thank you in advance!
You can either do a clipping mask or you can select the layer and do a new layer overtop and shade that way. That’s the next tutorial. You can also watch my shading tutorial I uploaded which can help you
How do you do the google drive folder? also it's okay it's so pixelated? I'm new to commissions with digital art and trying to give my clients the best I can do but I'm so confused with tech.
Any reason you don't just send the original largest size since many sites have the ability to process from a high quality image and generate the small sizes?
Hey Foohy! That's a good question - I find that the native app tends to preserve the quality better than resizing online, from my understanding there are various options to resize but because it's not a native application, I believe there is just a guess at there the pixels are arranged in the new smaller space, which is why often resizing on free website generators can offer a more blurry, less clear version than if you were to do it natively. I know when I first did emotes I used a free resizing website and since I've done it within the app, I noticed a huge difference!
Can you share the stabilization percentage on the line work? I’m having issues knowing how to make the lines smooth and not wonky or looking like it’s a sketch 😭
Good morning, I followed your tutorial and when I place the emotes in twitch the 112x112 is 30kb, the minimum being 25kb, do you have any idea of this little problem? thanks in advance. Your video is excellent, thank you for sharing

what settings do you have setup for your studio pen when you do your line art? Mine doesn't give me the clean line its pixelated on the edge and im trying to mess with the edges to make it look better but its not working out so well... This video is very helpful i'm just beginning my drawing journey altogether and i'm starting with the digital side of art.

Ok so I just drew this on my iPad and it def needs lots of work. My pencil size must have been different than yours. Your lines are so good and mine look like blah
What's the reasoning for making copies at different resolutions? I thought twitch accepted anything between 112 and 4096px. I'm guessing maybe it's because some PNGs at say 500px arent low enough in file size?
Great question: so Twitch I believe wants at least one in the size of 112px and then they can resize it for you. However, there are many ways in which to resize it and everytime you resize, you lose resolution and quality as the resizing software sort of guesses where to place the pixels since this is not a vector based drawing. So it usually better to resize it natively in the app to preserve the quality! The end result is slightly more "crisp" I find. Twitch's resize feature sometimes blurs the edges though it is not horribly noticeable, but still it makes a small difference
Super useful video!! I do twitch emotes but just got my new iPad and pencil. What brush settings do you use, I use the same studio pen brush, but a slight pressure change creates a non smooth taper
Love the video I am a new streamer trying to make new emotes and I have a IPad but if I don’t have a apple pincel am I still able to draw with my finger or will it not work just wondering before I purchase procreate
I followed your tutorial for my own emotes and sent to my daughter who streams on twitch and said they were really pixelated and that her other emotes were not pixelated. What am I doing wrong?
Hi, thanks for your videos! Question, if you are resizing this way for an animated emote would you copy canvas for each layer into the new sized canvas? Or is there a better way for animated emotes... having a hard time figuring out resizing my animated emotes.
Yep this is how I do it - I find it turns out better when I copy each layer separately to the smaller canvas. I’m not sure why but I’ve noticed a big difference this way!

Hi, thanks for your videos! Question, if you are resizing this way for an animated emote would you copy canvas for each layer into the new sized canvas? Or is there a better way for animated emotes... having a hard time figuring out resizing my animated emotes.
