@@ProjectsForAllReviewsquick question are you going to test the FLEX table saw any time soon? I refuse to look at it until you go through a thorough review.
I have owned one for several years and love it. I use it for making end-grain cutting boards out of maple, walnut, and cherry. I had an issue figuring out how to interrupt the measurements in the extended top. But your video was helpful in understanding the secret. I never could get the tape measure and the table measure to agree. Thanks for the hint.
The burning is almost certainly due to the lacquer finish on the blade had a similar issue with my Bosch chop saw. We have quite a few Bosch tools, brilliant tools. 👍
Couple things, when putting the fence in storage, stand at the side and push down front and back together. It will snap in to 2 metal clips securing it. I've been a carpenter for 28 years, and have had my fair share of jobsite table saws. I've used just about every big name (minus the real high end stuff like Sawstop, which also does not have a rack n pinion) be it my own or another carpenters, and I find the bosch to be the most accurate and smooth option out there. I just bought my 3rd bosch, and it has a few upgrades from it's predecessor, which led me to your video. All my saws get tuned as accurate as I can possibly make them out of the box. Then regular tune ups when needed, as traveling tools live a rough life. That's my 2 cents anyhow... Great video Oh, and if you want to spoil yourself, buy "FS tool" saw blades, from a company called Camel Saw, and have them sharpen it before shipping it... a freshly sharpened blade from them...aw good stuff!!
I’ve had this saw for 3 years and I’m generally pleased with it. I’ve had a bearing changed and some work done to the mechanism that raises/ lowers the blade. The mechanism requires frequent cleaning and lubrication.
I have an almost 20 year old Ryobi job site TS, and it's gotten wonky as hell. but for the fence, when I need to cut something, I use my Carpenter's Square to make sure the fence is perpendicular to the table, and perfectly straight. But because my saw is so old, getting the blade at 90 degree's is near impossible. So watching these reviews is helping me decide which one I want for a home business/hobby. Thank you!!
I own one for almost 7 years and it's my driving horse the only tips is don't use a 14 gage extension and if it's too long go with 12 gage and works better when the receptacle isn't loaded because this saw is advertised as 4hp peak it draws alot of power and had issues with breakers , it's very accurate and I attached a 55 inch sliding table beside it for ripping 4x8 sheets , I recommend highly this saw
I spent ages adjusting the angle pointer to get it to match 0 and 45* on my Bosch saw. It seams the length of the pointer is to long to match both so it’s either one or the other. Good video. 👍🏻
I've been using the Bosch 4100 table saw heavily, for about 6 years. Did have to replace a barring at one point. It worked for quite awhile after that & recently broke down again. Unfortunately i didn't have the time or energy to investigate the issue this time. Since i love everything about this saw, i went ahead and bought a new one snd will fix my now "backup" when time permits. So now I'm using 4100xc & it's just as awesome! Little to no adjustments, straight out of the box twice!! 😊 Great review btw! After watching, I'm guessing you'd give this saw about a 4.8 or so, but I'm going with a 5 lol
I have had my Bosch 10" table for 20+ yrs and after the initial fence issue, i have not had an issue since. I have built 3 homes with this saw and im NOT a professional and its still going strong today. I spent $575 back around the two thousandths? I originally had a Grizzly 5hp left tilting cabinet saw with all the accessories but it was way too big for my shop and unwieldly, even with rollers and I wanted something I could throw in my truck. When I bought the Bosch, it was one of only e few saws that would accept a full dado safely. Another thing, which no one ever talks about, is that the motor increases power as it senses interference in the rpm's, equal to about 4 1/2hp. I'm not sure if the newer models taught this or not, but they look identical to me, but a lot can change under the hood in 20 yrs. NOTE: I'm not one of the online safety police, but if you have kids or animals around, you will come to appreciate every safety feature installed atleast one time in your life, which is one reason i don't buy cheap saws. Thanks for sharing your experience with this one. I suspect there's many ppl out there with 20+ years on this saw. Looks like there's a new rack and pinion fence model coming out now. I wonder if Bosch is discontinuing this one. Its definitely had a good run. Thanks for watching!
I saw another woodworker have the same burns. He said that the blade might need cleaning with soap and water. But, I am not sure. By the way, I really appreciate your support and explanations. Thank you.
Thank you for going through everything up close and methodically. I watched your assembly vid on this saw and had the thing together in like 15 minutes. (Way better than reading the instructions!) I picked this saw up brand new in the box for $110.00 and am pretty pleased with myself.
Hi Mike as per usual you have done a wonderful job of evaluating this tool. I just wanted to offer you a suggestion about thriving knife adjustment. The knife adjustment can be accomplished with the back of a tablet cardboard. The cardboard is a bit porous and allows for resistance between the fence. The thriving knife and when you make the adjustment you can hold the cardboard between the fence and the knife. Tighten a nut down slightly move the cardboard out of the way finish tightening with the compression nut lock it down put the other two nuts down hand tight check it again, it worked for me.
That's very similar to the instructions in the owners manual. It recommends folding a sheet of paper, either in half or thirds, can't remember and using that between the riving knife and fence. I found that too fidgety and went for the old eyeball adjustment. Both Skilsaws and this Bosch all had the same riving knife and arbor lock setups. Thanks for watching Leroy!
I really enjoy your very thorough reviews and look forward to seeing more. I suspect that the burning you were experiencing on the wood was because of a slight warp in the blade.
I bought a 4100 several years ago, and it still works great and square. Only problem is that it has become hard to raise the blade. I need to clean it out regularly. Wondering if something is getting worn.
Nice review on this saw. I have the model from two years ago. The fence on that one is not nearly as smooth. I'll have to now check your assembly and fence video.
I wonder how this saw compares to the Delta 36-725T2? I know the Delta is a contractors saw with cast iron table, but these saws are about the same price range and I wonder if they are of the same quality?
Nice job, Mikey. You're going to enjoy that Bosch. One can never have too many table saws. Soon you'll be able to have them set up with dado sets, flat toothed, thin kerf, cross cut blade, etc. Makes it so much easier.
Thanks Meat! I like your idea! I'll let the wife know I definitely need to keep all 8 tables that are currently out there...so I can work more efficiently. She'll love that idea! 🤣🤣
@@ProjectsForAllReviews Believe me, I understand. When I set up my two saws (one was a cabinet saw and the other a contractor saw), Mrs. Meat had something to say; mostly it was something in the vein of, "so, how long have you had that saw?" Of course, I could not tell a lie and said something to the effect of, "Now honey, they've always been there, you must have not noticed that cabinet saw before." The result was all purchases for the company had to go through her from then on. Thank goodness for mad money....she never knew. Enjoy your stuff, we really like your channel.
Possible cause for the burning is the feed speed of the material. Pausing the hand fed piece could sometimes cause burning with blade staying in one place Just a thought.
Great review. I see Bosch now has a new saw this size with rack and pinion fence, and a 32'' plus rip capacity. Hard to find much in the way of reviews on it, the GTS15-10. I might see what people say about this saw compared to the one in the video before buying for my new shop space, in addition to my 8 1/4 Dewalt that I bought for on site work. That's a nice saw but a bit limited with size and ability to take a dado blade etc.
As I watched you burn thru that oak with the OEM blade I thought to myself "... it's gonna burn" and sure enough it did. I swear that OE blades are just placeholders...something to throw on the arbor to keep the nut in place. Toss 'em and put a good blade on...at very, very minimum a Diablo. My personal choice is a Freud Industrial, but to each his own. As to the fence, I am going to watch the fence video as soon as I post, but my personal preference is actually to tail the fence away by .005"...so to me it is set perfectly! While rack and pinion fences seem to be all the rage on job site saws, I think I'd rather have this Bosch design. Much closer to the big boy setups. You mentioned several times during the walkthrough..." just like the Skil we reviewed recently" Well, the Robert Bosch company is a subsidiary of Skil, so it doesn't surprise me to see similarly designed parts here...just sayin'... I do like how you take an inordinate amount of time to delve into the guts of any equipment you review...a true deep dive. This is the kind of info I want and need to make an informed choice. Thank you, my good man. Well done!
I was really shocked at how bad the Bosch blade was for the price of this saw. It’s true in real life I never use the included blades but for reviews I think it’s important to show it. So far all OEM blades have been serviceable except for the Bosch. Thanks for watching Woodrow!
Have to older version and great saw but the fence is wearing out after 12 years of light to moderate use. Almost everything looks identical. What is the max dado stack?
I just saw that they are coming out with a new one, with tracks like the Dewalt and the Skil. Still too expensive, unless you need the stand, which seems to be very good.
Just I am saying: the glare might comes from the position of a light in your shop. If you move the table saw to other place you might get different results
On the Bosch saw tennis saw, get a little piece of sunglass material and put it on top of that glare right in the middle. Just darken them darken the sunglasses and they'll be just fine anyway. Just an idea. Should be a pretty inexpensive fix.
Thanks for a great video. I’ve been eyeing the new Bosch GTS15-10. Our local box store has it, but the Bosch website still says coming soon. Seems to have some upgrades, including rack and pinion and it’s the same price as this saw. Thanks again.
Hey mate, just purchased it 2 weeks ago,…super happy with the new saw, the fence is fantastic,…a great upgrade. The saw in the video was my previous, loved it as well!!
I think the Skil is better than the Bosch or Dewalt or Delta although they all have features I like. I have and older Dewalt jobsite saw but at some point I will upgrade. Right now, the rolling stand on the Skil has me leaning towards buying it. Also, waiting for an awesome sale to help me decide. If I had to rank them I have Skil, Delta, Dewalt and then Bosch in that order.
ok so I am limited on space.. (For Storage!} what are the COLLAPSED over all de-mentions from the table to the floor???? on the 10Skill 10 Dewalt and this saw???
The saw stand looked very wobbly to me during your demonstration. Was it? Also, I would have liked to have seen you fold it up and move it around on its wheels.
Yes. After the video and I wish I’d included it because it’s the flattest one to date. It has a .05 dip next to the throat plate about a 1x6 inch section and thats it. Did better than the new HF welding table that claims +-.05. There’s a new Bosch rack and pinion that just dropped and I’ll mention it in that vid. Thanks for watching Jeff!
Thanks for the video! I think this model is going away. The Bosch 4100XC-10 is getting hard to find on Amazon. However, the GTS15-10 is available; looking strangely like the Skilsaw 10" with rack and pinion fence. Would be interesting to see new/old compared. Old may get hard to find soon. Is newer better??! 🤔
Yep that new Bosch got released about the time I dropped this vid. I’m glad we got to review this one before it’s gone because this will be a used market item for years to come. We’ll be reviewing that new Bosch soon. Thanks for watching!
So I guess I goofed by not checking it. It’s the flattest table to date with .05 dip left of the throat plate. Spot is about 1x6 inches. It blows HFs new welding table out of the water for flatness. I’m about to preorder the new Bosch table saw and I’ll have to mention it in that video. Thanks for getting me off my ass Conan! 😂
@@ProjectsForAllReviews Ah Sunday is for being lazy, right? Riighht? Haha thanks for checking! This saw wasnt on my radar at all but it looks well made for its price.
Great video man! I love the discussion between this and the Dewalt. I took the plunge on the new Bosch GTS15-10, I should have it before Christmas. I'm still waiting for somebody to review that saw but it looks a little better than both this saw and the Dewalt. It looks like this saw but with rack and pinion fence. If Bosch did as good a job with the new saw as they did with this saw it should be a no-brainer for anyone looking between these two saws. The biggest thing I don't like about the Dewalt is the stand - too hard to put up/down, move around once it's up, and seems like it could get "rickety" over time.
@@sjoroverpirat I'm very impressed with the new saw. The fence was perfectly tuned out of the box and the motor is smooth with soft start and a stopping brake when you turn it off. Pretty happy with my purchase so far.
@@sjoroverpirat I have mixed feelings. The made in Taiwan quality is poor and not up to what I would expect from Bosch. Table is not flat. Inserts are sloppy and loose and worst of all bowed. Fence and blade were aligned fairly well but not with the table. Ends on the fence are thin plastic. Bevel stops were way off. Miter gauge is garbage. The stand is fantastic. If you’re wanting accuracy you will have to spend some time on setup and making your own table inserts. I’m disappointed but there doesn’t seem to be anything better on the market currently.
Looks like Bosch might have contracted Skil to build a saw that they could sale in the US without Sawstop suing them. Now I have to go add another saw to my comparison spreadsheet.
This is nearly the same price as the Skilsaw and obviously they're very similar since Bosch owns Skil, but the Skil using rack and pinion and having what seems like a better stand, etc., seems like the better buy. I'd love to see you test the Delta actually instead of the Ryobi or Metabo. I think it has a better rep and it is a couple hundred less than these pro grade jobsite saws.
I used an adapter to neck down from 4 inch and a rubber sleeve. Wasn't able to clamp it properly but fit snug enough to work. Im still confused why the outlet on this saw is cut off flush with the housing. Thanks for watching!
Hey Mike, any thoughts on the Bosch GTS15-10? According to their website, this model has a rack and pinion fence on it. In the meantime, I want to purchase a job site saw for smaller projects. That being said, if you had your choice, which model would you yourself select, the Bosch 4100XC-10 or the Dewalt DWE7491RS? Thanks, Garry from Chicago.
I came super close to preordering that new Bosch and we may still get it soon for review. It’s not everyday a major manufacturer drops a new table saw. As far as the DeWALT vs Old Bosch I personally would pick the DeWALT but the Bosch is a very close second and I don’t think you would go wrong either way. Both are legit pro grade saw and it comes down to personal preference. Good luck and thanks for watching!
Surprisingly tough question but I think it comes down to who you are and what you're going to use it for. Same as the Dewalt and Skil comparison vid it did they are meant for completely different buyers. The Skil is an excellent saw for the DIYer or Pro who needs space savings or serious portability. These big saws are great for extra table real estate and very stable stands. There's a new rack and pinion Bosch just out that I hope to get to after the new year. Thanks for watching!
Could a cupped blade cause the binding? Stock blades are usually trash anyway, but I’d expect a better one from the company that also makes Freud and Diablo lol.
Yeah, the stock Bosch blades are dreadful, which is why I automatically swap them for Diablo blades for all my Bosch saws, except for my jigsaw those blades are top-notch.
Yep in real life I never use the Oem blade, ever. Still have the brand new blade for my 5 year old Delta. As far as why I'm still not sure but I'll spend some time looking at it soon. Might make an interesting short vid if I can figure it out. Thanks for watching Griffin!
I would guess the Bosch blade got something sticky on it, perhaps sap/resin which created enough friction to cause burning. It just needs cleaning with spirit and should stop.
No need for that pinion or rack, the fence will not moving once it's already in your adjusted desired position. It is not a CNC. Since i have their 18v brushless impact drill/driver with 2 peices 18v 2.0AH battery already, i might go with their brushless version of this as well. Please do a review of that also. Its model is GTS 18V 216 if I'm not wrong.
I have considered it by haven't gotten to it yet. Just got a Matco 6s three bay we could compare it too also. Could be a future vid for sure. Thanks for watching!
@@ProjectsForAllReviews if you do a review on the Icon, I feel like you’d have one of if not the next reviews out there on it. Not to many good ones IMO. Thanks for putting out great videos man 👍🏻
One of the best aspects of this saw is how the table splits when you extend it. The fence extension support is level with the table, as opposed to the dewalt fence which has no support at all-I guess you can flip the dewalt thin stock support over for some support, but then your cut will be out of square vertically because this support is out of plane with the table…hopefully that makes sense
This saw did better than I expected really. Noticed a new release from Bosch a couple days ago. Rack and pinion. We'll be doing that one very soon. Thanks for watching Frank!
Once again your video is awesome : the analysis of the tool is cristal clear ! As for the blade that came with the saw, is there a mention of the country where it was manufactured ? If it is Italy, it's made by Freud witch is 100% owned by Bosch in Udine ( FREUD = FREsse UDine ). FREUD blades are generally excellent ( on par with CMT or LEITZ : the guys that manufacture blades for FESTOOL ). No mention : it comes certainly from China, just as all the cheap Bosch blades are manufactured. But then, what a stupid idea from Bosch to ship such a blade to grab some more margin when they own FREUD. So, yes, consider mounting a true quality blade such as FREUD, CMT or LEITZ... For the overall quality of this table saw, yes, Bosch blue line are very well made tools... I just regret that Bosch did not convert it to rack and pinion fence witch to me is the ultimate design.
Thank you Laurent! You got my curiosity going so I ran out to the shop and pulled that blade out. Yep, China. Your completely correct Bosch should have included a top line Freud blade with that saw. They could have included some savvy marketing about it and gained a new blade customer. Missed opportunity for sure. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for having checked ! Bosch had also an acceptable alternative to save some bucks : ship the saw with one of their "Bosch Expert for wood" blue blades ( don't know if it is available in the US though... ). It's made in Italy so I guess it's made by FREUD and these blades are cheaper than the FREUD ones. But definitely shipping a Chinese blade such as their " Bosch Optiline" line is not coherent with their blue line tools and should be mounted only on the Bosch green line tools ( targeted DIYers, I don't know if it's sold in the US ).
I would tend to agree but every OEM blade I’ve used since starting the channel has been at least serviceable until this one. I’m surprised Bosch was the company that broke the trend but here we are. Thanks for watching!

Just started the video, but know that they are releasing a newer version next month (preorders are available currently), and it has the R&P fence.
Nice review on this saw. I have the model from two years ago. The fence on that one is not nearly as smooth. I'll have to now check your assembly and fence video.
Hi Mike, how well does the dust collection work?
I wonder how this saw compares to the Delta 36-725T2?
I know the Delta is a contractors saw with cast iron table, but these saws are about the same price range
and I wonder if they are of the same quality?
Great job Mike! As usual. Love your channel. Thank you.
Thank you Skippy!! Thanks for watching!
I have this model or very similar one I picked up a couple years ago. It’s been good to me
Nice job, Mikey.
Nice review mike,i yes have the skilsaw table
great review! I really enjoy the table saw videos. Glad to see a video on the Bosch. Metabo HPT next please
Possible cause for the burning is the feed speed of the material. Pausing the hand fed piece could sometimes cause burning with blade staying in one place
Just a thought.
Chris I have the GTS15-10 sitting on the shop floor! Give me 2-3 weeks and we’ll have a review on it! Thanks for watching!
@@ProjectsForAllReviews awesome I look forward to it!
Please try the new GTS15-10 from bosch, the new one uses rack and pinion fence !
It’s in my top 3! We’ll do it very soon. Promise! Thanks for watching Felix!
Is the throat plate ramped toward the blade?
Have to older version and great saw but the fence is wearing out after 12 years of light to moderate use. Almost everything looks identical.
What is the max dado stack?
I miss the feature of my Rigid where the blade could be 45 degrees from both sides, I dont know what to do now.
I just saw that they are coming out with a new one, with tracks like the Dewalt and the Skil. Still too expensive, unless you need the stand, which seems to be very good.
Just I am saying: the glare might comes from the position of a light in your shop. If you move the table saw to other place you might get different results
I agree! I have a lot of overhead lighting in the garage. Still annoying in my opinion. Thanks for watching!
I'd love to see you do the metabo hpt
Wow I didn’t know about that lockout safty power switch.Didn’t know how to use extension either at 17” lol I like the saw a lot .
Thanks for watching Scott!
Hey Mike, good stuff as always. keep up the good work!
Thanks for watching Dusty!
Do you find that the RPMs make a huge difference between the Bosch Table saw and the Dewalt?
ok so I am limited on space..
Did you check the flatness of the table?
10:52 if you adjust those leveling screws…
Grats on 13K subs, Mike.👍
Thank you Magius!!
Although props for Orange Cat proofing. I have one of those. Relatable.
Crazy orange cat. He's either sleeping or doing something ridiculous! 🤡😹
@@ProjectsForAllReviews yyyyyyyep
Thanks for the review Mike! How flat is the top on this model? I know jobsite saws often sink a bit around the blade - wonder how this Bosch compares.
Very nice review!! Thank you
Thanks for watching!
Same. I’ll have mine in 3 days!
How did it turn out?
I cannot align my Irving knife have go without and use a wedge
Looks like Bosch might have contracted Skil to build a saw that they could sale in the US without Sawstop suing them.
Now I have to go add another saw to my comparison spreadsheet.
This is nearly the same price as the Skilsaw and obviously they're very similar since Bosch owns Skil, but the Skil using rack and pinion and having what seems like a better stand, etc., seems like the better buy. I'd love to see you test the Delta actually instead of the Ryobi or Metabo. I think it has a better rep and it is a couple hundred less than these pro grade jobsite saws.
How did you get your dust collection attached on this saw. I have tried several things with no luck?
I used an adapter to neck down from 4 inch and a rubber sleeve. Wasn't able to clamp it properly but fit snug enough to work. Im still confused why the outlet on this saw is cut off flush with the housing. Thanks for watching!
Maybe the burning is because the edge against the fence wasnt straight, so it pushed it self away from the fence and into the blade
@@ProjectsForAllReviewsThanks for getting back to me. It’s hard to find any reviews on that newer Bosch. I’ll let you know if I hear anything.
Thin kerf blades, short arbors, non rigid construction, blade misalignment, reaction wood. It all adds up.
Pleas HELP....What do you recommand?EVOLUTION 255 MTS or BOSCH GTS 254 or BOSCH PTS 10...Thank you from Serbia
Chervon did it they put out the saws!
Is it worth 2x the price of the Skil portable table saw you reviewed in January?
Surprisingly tough question but I think it comes down to who you are and what you're going to use it for. Same as the Dewalt and Skil comparison vid it did they are meant for completely different buyers. The Skil is an excellent saw for the DIYer or Pro who needs space savings or serious portability. These big saws are great for extra table real estate and very stable stands. There's a new rack and pinion Bosch just out that I hope to get to after the new year. Thanks for watching!
that burn is a blade coating to stop rust in shipping.
Its model is GTS 18V 216 if I'm not wrong.
thanks great review
Saludos desde Costa Rica pura vida bendiciones exelente esplicasion aquí son muy caras ese tipo de sierra 😢😢
Gracias por mirar desde Costa Rica!
@@ProjectsForAllReviews es un honor
I calibrate my fence so that it toes out away from the blade about 0.005" to 0.010" at the back side of the blade.
The guide at the head of the fence is sloppy, so I shimmed the left and right faces with self-adhesive UHMW ape - it worked real well.
Dewalt 7491 user here, but that’s a decent looking saw! Btw, have you considered doing a review on your Icon box that’s in the background?
I just saw a question about rack and pinion and the answer is yes.
Ooh if only the cat knew about the betrayal. 😂
Because I got it for 200 less than a dewault. 424 at lowes right mow
thanks mike!
Thanks for watching Matt!
Must be the lettering on the blade causing the burning. lol
Ah, and now we know why the arbor is indexed for the arbor lock and not the washer.
I gave up trying to get the retractable riving knife to sit parallel with the blade. So I do not use the riving knife.
Don't give up. That knife reduces the chance of a kickback.
Doesn't surprise me that the included blade is crap. Not at all. It probably has an anti-rust finish on it that's heating up.
I’ve never seen a good blade that came with a saw. I Always replace them.
I would tend to agree but every OEM blade I’ve used since starting the channel has been at least serviceable until this one. I’m surprised Bosch was the company that broke the trend but here we are. Thanks for watching!
Here's a pickle for all. You've been gifted a table saw or one has fallen into your lap for free. Now you do not like this table saw at all. But it 100% works as advertised and was free. Do you continue the hunt or take what you've been given and use it to the best of its ability
This thing is short and I'm only 5'8"
A good blade can make a crappy saw twice as good.
We bought one about a month ago. Super disappointed. Fence is brutal. Janky compared to the dewalt.
Sorry to hear Taylor. Thanks for watching!
You're doing a public service with these reviews, Mike.
Thanks for watching Rick!
Volts x amps = watts. 1 hp = 745 watts. Theoretical. SF= Service Factor. SF 1.0 = 💯 , SF 1.15= 115%. To overload. HP ratings are typically BS. Do the math.
Thanks for the insight Todd! Thanks for watching!
So little dust!
Thanks for watching!
The assembly sucks putting together
Basically the same price as the dewalt. Why in the world would anyone buy this over the dewalt?
