  • Join Myself & John on another brilliant Turbot & Big Pollack hunt on johns Barracuda 8 Boat out of Eastbourne.
    In this action packed video we set off to hit some known Turbot Fishing marks to us to gain some intelligence on where these elusive flatfish are currently laying before confirming and moving onto to the next mark.
    Along the way we do some wreck fishing for BIG Pollack and I lose what I think was another elusive species for the Sussex coast, a Ling.
    Packed full of top tips and tackle talk this video will give you a good insight on how to catch more Turbot if you apply what I show in this video.
    So put the kettle on, grab a beer and some snacks or whatever it is you do and have a watch!
    Don't forget to like and subscribe please it really does help me grow the channel & there's plenty more fishing to come!

      The boat had swung so we had to net at the stern as you saw so made it more akward trying to avoid the prop etc 😅 thanks for reminding me to apologise 🙏🏻

    Cracking day on the water target species achieved along with a donkey pollack and a scallop nice one. The idea of the 10oz watch lead I am guessing is to keep the bait firmly pinned to the seabed and stir up the sand? Roughly what depth of water were you fishing in there?

    • @theamputeeangler
      @theamputeeangler  2 місяці тому

      Morning Brian how are you?
      So the watch lead is pure as that is what I was shown when I was younger on how to do it and it’s just stuck with me I have seen others fish different leads and still catch but yes the idea is to keep it pinned down. We was in about 180feet here on this particular mark which can fish really well certain times of the year 👌🏻
      Thanks for watching and supporting 👌🏻

    Those two banks are fished out with only tiny things left. Such a shame that only tiny ones remain or have just recently arrived. A flattie less than 42cm is not worth keeping, and might grow on if they were returned..

    • @theamputeeangler
      @theamputeeangler  10 місяців тому

      Hey Hugh 👍🏻 a few of the banks here are well fished out, the main set of Billy’s used to throw up big Turbot but they have been netted and hooked to death now but they do still throw up some nicer fish. Thankfully I stay away from Billy’s and a few others and push out more and have new ones to try to get away from the crowds.

      I had 36 Turbot over 3 days the other year but not one over 5lb it’s such a shame. Hoping to get out on some newer marks and find some that have been left alone. Just need the wind to hold off and line up with when I can go!
