I saw MJ play in person. It was pre-baseball era. His athleticism was amazing. When he elevated for jump shot, he got way up in the air, especially if his opponent is trying to block him. He did it so effortlessly, like GOD whispered in his ear……you will jump. He was smooth, graceful and aggressive all at the same time.

As a young man I saw all of his games from 1991 till the end of his career. We knew, that we witnessed history in the making, and we enjoyed every game. And what I remember is, that in most of the games, the bulls have been behind till halftime, but in he 3rd qtr usually Jordan started the hunt … and if the 3rd quarter was not enough to catch up, Jordan had the nerves, to end many games last minutes with the last shot. As a fan, you always watched his games till the last second. Always.

9:57 I have 6 Michael Jordan tattoos on my body, 3 "drawings" and 3 sayings or Very famous phrases that you know from him. And I am German.
"Limits like fears are often just an Illusion"
    "failure gave me stength"
    "my Pain was my Motivation"
Jordan was a role model for me and how he overcame the obstacles in his life.
I have an anxiety disorder, I have depression,.
Since I was a teenager 14 of 15 years old. In addition, In my twenties, I contracted an illness that made me permanent physically disabled.
Nevertheless, I still completed degrees, apprenticeships and so.
It all started with that unbelievable, irrepressible ambition that Michael Jordan showed me. No matter what.
And although I have limitations here and there, I sometimes graduated at the top of my class or year.
Precisely because you know that you have this and that and you think that's why I'm going to achieve this and that now or even do it better than I used to.
    Faith will move Mountains.

You lose one time in the finals you're automatically disqualified from the GOAT conversation because of Michael Jordan’s perfect finals record! In order to surpass him somebody has got to go at least 7-0 in the finals with 7 finals MVPs! And let's add to that a record 10 scoring titles, with the highest average in points in the regular season and in the playoffs (whoever wants to surpass MJ he’s gonna have to break those records too), and 9 all defensive teams, a DPOY, 5 MVPs of the regular season (and they named the trophy after him) a ROY, 3 all star games MVPs, be the first one to record a triple double in an all star game, win two dunk championships, a ROY, win an NCAA championship after hitting a crucial shot, and not coming even close to losing in the international competition and winning two gold medals! His clutchness, his trash talking, mixed together with his insane athleticism, fundamentals, and insane work ethic, plus listening to his coaches, he was the closest thing we've ever seen as a basketball player! Salley has always been jealous of Jordan, going back to the Piston days. Jordan was also very hard on him during his stint with the Bulls.
Even with his last few years in Washington, his career shooting percentage is almost over 50%, which is absurd for a perimeter player who shot the volume he did.
Kobe's shooting percentage isn't even close to Jordan because he was not nearly as lethal as MJ with drives and finishing. Kobe shot way more from the perimeter.
John Salley is a joke. If you shoot over 50% from the field and nearly 90% from the FT line, you can and SHOULD keep chucking. It's the highest percentage shot for the team.
I loved Kobe, but he was not nearly as efficient as Jordan, which makes Salley's assertion that Jordan was more of a "chucker" absurd.

All they knew how to do was to rough up the opposing team. And since there weren't flagrant fouls back then, basically you could do whatever you wanted to a guy and its a basic foul.
NBA introduces the FLAGRANT and now its a much higher penalty. 2 shots and the ball. Pistions stop fouling, they don't know how to play without fouling..BUlls sweep Pistons.

The two things that I remember most about Michael Jordan as far as him being the greatest.. is that first of all I would estimate that he won 5 to 10 games on his own effort alone and the other thing is that when he would drive the lane a lot of Defenders would freeze because there was no telling if he was going to go left right or Center he just terrorized people that guarded him. And I haven't seen anybody do those two things. I will say that Damian Lillard has the part that he can win 5 to 10 games all by himself which is to me what makes the greatest players the greatest

I'm going to say this 1 more time.
Anytime u have a NBA legend/ hall of famer(Larry Bird) say that MJ was god in basketball shoes.
What more needs to be said!
And another thing that makes him the g.o.a.t is he never jumped ship like lebron.
If u can take nothing(MJ's team)and make it great that's greatness.
Lebron has yet to have nothing and make it great(team wise)!
Instead of stickers with the cavs he jumps ship on them 😒
Then goes back when he should of just stayed and been patient in the 1st place smh.
    But opinions are like assholes.

      Magic had Worthy, Divac.
Drexler, Ainge, Porter. The Portland Trail Blazers had gone to the Finals only 2 years ago
Jordan led a team with nobody else with a ring from 91 to 93.

@@marksines1246 you presented nothing. Kevin Johnson between 1989 to 95 led his team to the most wins and second most playoff wins. Outplayed Magic and a deep Lakers squad and sent them packing all by himself without no Barkley. Stop outing yourself as a casual. Kevin Johnson was a beast. They also had solid pieces in Majerle, Chambers and Ainge
Divac was not a rookie. He was in his second season. Stop the cap. Worthy played 45, 40 and 48 minutes and played over 31 minutes in Game 4 before getting hurt. Stop the cap
Rather than call an era weak like you lazy analysts do. Why not drill down into the style of play that was trending at the time. A lot of the revered greats also played in this so called weak era of basketball.

Chris Paul needed 15 seasons just to get to a conference Finals and needed a Devin Booker to do it. Kevin Johnson outplayed the GOAT PG.

I felt that Kobe was the MJ successor. It's crazy looking at old footage prior to his drafting to the Bulls how, prior to arriving the big men your forwards and centers of that era Moses Malone and Willis Reed all thought it'd be impossible for MJ to make a mark (despite winning a NCAA title and Olympic gold prior to arriving in Chicago) feeling he was undersized as a 6'6 shooting guard. But what he had was a will to win, get bigger, get stronger and develop an aura that opponents feared and respected.
Kobe had faced MJ before, studied his game (same build and position) but found early success with Shaq and a departed from Chicago Phil Jackson. Still, he had to get his licks in and it's in those trials that he ultimately became as great of a competitor making his own mark without the big man doing feats not seen since Wilt as a 6'6 shooting guard.
