If I may offer some feedback, the next time you do this sort of video can you please spend more time showing the images you’re discussing? I don’t intend to be offensive with this remark, but I’d rather look at the sets being talked about instead of the person talking about the sets. Plus, it can be a little frustrating when you’re talking about specific design elements in the set but we can’t actually see them because you’re in front of the camera. For example when you were talking about the fire brigade, you mentioned how great the tiles representing the brick work looked, especially around the corners. It would’ve been nice to have actually gotten to see that as it was being discussed.
Great video! Began building in Dec. 2019 at the age of 74. My first modular build was Assembly Square and I was hooked…12 modulars later still love these builds.😊
I really like the Legoland feeling of the PetShop and the Fire Brigade. I think it is cool when Lego looks like Lego. So these are two of my favorites.
great video, really enjoyed it through! just wanted to add a minor (very polite, constructive!!) piece of feedback! when you talk, it’s great to see your enthusiastic, lovely face, but.. it can be a little frustrating when you talk about something that, say, you really like, or something you’re pointing out, but you don’t show us it, leading to often having to replay the video back a few times to get a possible image to see what you’re talking about, to relate to it! other than that, really engaging, well thought through and interesting, well described video, thanks :)
Building Tudor Corner currently. I have no other modulars, but I fell in love with its design. It’s also the most fun I’ve ever had building a set. Makes me feel like a kid again!
Congrats on 50K! I love your content and your takes on sets like these. A point of contention: Downtown Diner is the latest modular to feature a brick build lettered sign, coming out after the Palace Cinema. It was also the first to introduce turquoise as a dominant colour, before the Book Shop.
My neverending, stream-of-consciousness wishlist: hospital, post office, aquarium, modern art museum, gourmet grocery store (I don't have Green Grocer, but seems like a gourmet market might be different enough?), coffee/coworking place, vintage clothing shop/thrift store, wine shop, bakery, Asian food hall, a city park w/ different elevations, gym, dog park, something waterside like a beach...
Great video! Assembly Square was my first & gotta agree with your choices! Also great to hear about the placement of Tudor Corner! Really looking forward to it!
Imho LEGO Cafe Corner was an exciting departure from the simpler designed buildings LEGO previously released. Market Street has had its detractors over the years but I’ve always appreciated the build techniques that fan designer, Erik Brok, brought to the mainstream with this set. His page was a huge source of delight and inspiration to me. The AFOL community lost a visionary when he passed away. Rest easy, Erik Brok.
A pretty conceptual gimmick for the Market Street is the fact that the floors are 16x16, which allows them to be rotated about with respect to lower floors. To accomodate this idea the stairs even come to the centre, leaving a gap in the middle of each floor instead of the typical stairs against a wall.
Tudor Corner has the looks - it’s striking, varied, and just has a lot going for it. Looking forward to eventually getting it. My first official Modular building was the Police Station, and I think it’s a total slam dunk package - awesome details and thoughtful interior designs for viewing and accessing, and great storytelling (as well as references to other sets). It’ll always hold a special place for me. Bonus in that it also fits in nicely if I wanted to put it next to the Marvel Modulars like Daily Bugle or Sanctum Santorum sets.
Hi there… Happy New Year! Assembly Square was my first Lego set… I love it. I just recently rebuilt it after moving with it ( I took it apart when I moved ) I’m getting Tudor Corner….can hardly wait🤗 **I’m a new subscriber
The diner is obnoxious and clashes with the ENTIRE line precisely for the reasons you mentioned. I have all the modulars and that's the only one i removed from my city because it's an eyesore and an intruder from the postwar hell that is modern architecture
I agree with most of your rankings - I was originally sad about the shrinking size of Modular’s but the interior details you gain are worth the size difference- I have all of the Modular’s bar the first three and have a rebrickable version of green grocer which I enjoyed - my favourite is and will probably always be the detectives office 😁
I have only recently been getting into the Modulars, but I would say my fav looks wise is definitely Tudor Corner, but in terms of storytelling I would say my fav is defo the Brick Bank. I just love the whole money laundering thing I think it’s completely genius!
Congratulations on reaching this milestone. I would gladly support this channel if you offered a modest monthly subscriber service as done by others. With all the LEGO channels to choose from, yours and Robin Hood Bricks are the only ones where I feel entertained and informed. 😊 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
I only have a few of them, but my absolute favorite is the Boutique Hotel. It was just such a joy to put together. I'm really looking forward to Tudor Corner, though. I have a feeling I might like it even better.
I agree with what you say about the town hall. It’s a set that I always have mixed feelings about. While I like the height, overall idea and the pillars, it just feels so flat and boring quite frankly. I have modified mine quite a bit to bring the pillars forward more and I have made changes to the balcony and the plants on the windows, but a revamp with the same overall idea would be amazing.
Accurate ratings. Used to look at these modular buildings for hours in the catalogs that would come to my house. I always wanted the pet shop but 1 and 2 on the list are also ones I would want in the future
My wife worked at a toy store that was going out of business. Her manager decided that they could still use their employee discounts on the lower prices. Otherwise, we never would have been able to afford Assembly Square back then.
Market street looks different because it’s a fan design, it was produced under “Lego factory” the earlier version of ideas. I know Lego already said it’s part of the modular series but I don’t really count it as one so I never picked it up. Cafe corner got me out of my Lego dark ages but the detective’s office is my favorite to this day.
I’d Love To See A GRAND SYMPHONY HALL Done With A Balcony, Majestic Entry, An Old 1930’s Style Duzeldorf(sp?) And Lots Of Finely Dressed Minifigs, + A Poodle Too‼️❤️‼️👍🏽
Imagine this, Lego: multi level car showroom with lots of cars, SUVs, a working car elevator, new car pickup area with giant ribbon, adjoining mini cafe opening onto a mini botanical garden with lots of butterflies 😊
I think this was a good list. I wish I had more of the modular sets, but I'm glad that I have Assembly Square. I agree that it deserves the top space. There are just so many interesting details and spaces in this build. I absolutely can't wait to get Tudor Corner. The 2 sets that I would most like to own are the Detectives Office and the Brick Bank.
I still can not excuse myself for not buying Parisian Restaurant when it was on the shelves - instead, I somehow bought Architecture Studio which stays in the box now :D Thinking about getting the Tudor Corner - it really took my attention before the release.
The jazz club is my absolute favorite. I feel like it captured the perfect balance between interesting building and interesting detailing and Easter eggs/fun stuff. The stained glass windows are such a cool detail and it perfectly captures the jazz club vibe from all the ones I’ve been to and the historic row building facade. So great. I would love an updated city hall, or maybe a library or post office instead if they don’t want to retread past ideas.
Congrats on the 50K! I was lucky to rediscover Lego via the modular sets as a young adult when they started coming out in the mid 00's, so have every one of them except for the museum and yet to be released suspiciously ranked No. 2... I love every one of them in their own way- but your very lowly ranked Cafe Corner is still probably my favourite just because it was the first. I would love to see them re-release it or offer some more alternative designs for the more or less non-existent interior of the hotel part...
Great video! Congratulations. I just don't agree with the ranking given to the museum. I think it's ranking will drop a bit in the next years. I found it boring and expected more on the inside. Keep up the good work, happy new year
Detective's Office is my #1. Got me into collecting the modulars and building a city. What the city needs most (in my opinion) is a modular Post Office and I hope we got one for 2026.
Nice video. I think turn point was detective office and Parisian restaurant. After that we have continously far realistic buildings. From previous one I choose Fire building.
Here is my list 1 boutique hotel 2 corner garage 3 town hall 4 brickbank 5 downtown dinner 6 cinema 7 police station 8 corner hotel 9 detective office 10 corner Shop 11 jazz club 12 assembly square 13 library 14 parisian restaurant 15 pet Shop 16 museum 17 firemen station 18 Green grocery 19 market street I don't rank tudor house as i don't own it yet. If i add to this list : Sanctum sanctorum 16 Botanical garden and fisherman house would be 5
I want a Lego furniture store. Not necessarily as a modular building, so much as bricks and 100 different build instructions for all the furniture and appliances you could need to outfit those early buildings that didn't have interiors.
Great comparison, you have a new subscriber 😊. I absolutely agree with your No.1 pick, I also love the Assembly Square and I‘m really looking forward to building Tudor Corner, it has the potential to take No.1 in my personal Lego modular list 😊. I would have ranked the Jazz Club higher, but that‘s just my two Cents. My overall favorite modular buildings though are the Mediterranean Villa by Bluebrixx, The Office by PanBo and the Cube Modern Villa by Mork (the latter two both designed by the great Ohsojang, of course 😊).
The Bookshop was my first lego set, so it holds a special place in my heart. Parisian Restaurant might be my favorite though - I love the aesthetic and there is something about exterior stairs I find extra appealing. The new Tudor Corner might be giving it a bit of competition though - it just looks so good and has exterior stairs to boot. 😄❤
Would have loved a timeline or more visual representation of what your ranking is. Besides that, it is crazy that prices of these modulars have increased 50% since it started. They better freeze the prices. 200 was a great price point. 230 is pushing it. At this speed we will be towards 300 in a few years😢
Perhaps a courthouse as a new alternate for the town hall? It would allow both to live in the same city, or you could leave the older style out and focus on the newer more highly detailed version
Fire Brigade is my favorite. I love Fire Houses and it was such a fun build! Sometimes I like a bit of good old brick-on-brick. #2 is a tie between Parisian & Diner; both so epic! I bought the first 6 as they were released back in the day. Then I skipped a few, only to catch up a bit after the fact. I still don’t have the Pet Shop, Cinema, or Town Hall. They just don’t interest me and I have no plans to seek after them.
Angry comment. Loved the video, watch many of your videos, and one of the topics I've been searching for. Really liked the list, and think I agree. Looking forward to Tudor Corner. On another note, the CMF sets, I was hoping there would be an Animal Crossing CMF Serie in 2025. Do you have any favourites?
Tudor Corner all day long. It’s a gorgeous building, gives you that perfect pub feel, the olde worlde building in a modern setting. This probably isnt a modular, more of an Ideas set but i’d like to see a Spanish Villa (with the Moor rounded minaret style building).
very nice list. taking a step back though got me thinking. we can probably agree that other manufacturers now not only provide more affordable pricing, but also better brick quality (color consistency), better printing quality and more innovation overall (see e.g. funwhole integrated lighting including custom cable management bricks). in contrast to e.g. star wars, modulars are not protected by IP and also don’t have desirable minifigs. i am therefore very curious as to the future of the lego modulars.
The fire brigade being ranked so low is ridiculous! It’s a beautiful set that is a staple of any city and fits in well next to others. That being said, it should be 2 stall, the brick built sign is unnecessary, and the modern fireman uniforms should be period specific
I have heard criticism of the Tudor Corner roof. There is no parapet or railing around the roof, no skylights, no dome, or water tower. A missed opportunity, because unless you get inside, or down on the narrow sidewalk, the roof is really the largest playable surface.
Is there anyone who loves market street? I think it looks really creepy almost, and interesting. And my favourite Modular building is the Pet Shop followed by the Bookshop. Maybe I just like half builds.
Lately I wonder why Lego often distances Market Street from the rest of the modulars. It's often absent from the overall Modular Line-up in the more recent sets, and the instructions are no longer available on Lego's official online database.
Market Street is shown on the back of the box of the green grocer along side of Cafe corner back when released , and it was designed by a fan released under the factory theme, not sure what you mean by absent? the current Tudor corner is along side of natural history museum and jazz club, seems they only show current modulars along side of the new ones released not ones from 20 years ago.
Boutique Hotel should have been higher on the list and I was actually surprised at how much I disliked building Assembly Square and the final results. There were so many bags per step it was a real slog to get through.
I know most people who stepped in to collect modular recently or after past 3-4 sets since the Cafe Corner came out didn't appreciate a region of the origin, so they didn't like Market Street or even Cafe Corner itself but for me who collect them all from 2005 I always honor them and never put them in a bottom list plus you need to take it to a consider that when the first modular came out the they don't focus on the interior so of course you can't compare and say Cafe Corner is not that great because they don't have a good interior. With all design I actually put Downtown dinner at the bottom, I just don't like the design, and the style of architecture didn't go well with the rest of modular.
Everyone puts Market Street on the bottom. But really I think it’s the Pet Shop. I actually like the Pet shop but many of the brown and red pieces end up breaking and I wish it was one large building dedicated to all sorts of pets. Ranking in order of release would be an easy way to do it though.
Woah! 10190 market Street was £60...a sixty quid modular...Cafe Corner was £90...That is a lot of modular for ninety smackers, so value wise it is number one easy.
I have a problem with the boutique hotel in that I can't place what kind of architecture it is, southern or mediteranian or whatever? The architecture is outplaced with the other buildings.
Doubtful they will ever make anything similar but I am missing Fire Brigade and Townhall. I dont even necessarily want a redo just a building that represents those functions to complete the city row
I built the museum recently and was a bit confused and disappointed by two things. Firstly, some of the internal walls in the ground floor don't reach the ceiling. Secondly, a clear floorplate would have been better on the ground floor to display the bones that are covered and not visible in the build as is.
The worst modular building is also the only I do not own. I would swap Green Grocer and Fire Station. I like the colours of the Fire Brigade and think Green Grocer is ugly and boring. Otherwise I do agree, just may be move one modular one position higher and another one one lower.
If I may offer some feedback, the next time you do this sort of video can you please spend more time showing the images you’re discussing? I don’t intend to be offensive with this remark, but I’d rather look at the sets being talked about instead of the person talking about the sets.

I had the exact same thought. I haven't build any of them yet and sometimes I had no idea what you are talking about.
I came here to say the same!
Great suggestions, but you have to tell this man that he's doing a fantastic job!!
Great video! Began building in Dec. 2019 at the age of 74. My first modular build was Assembly Square and I was hooked…12 modulars later still love these builds.😊
That‘s good to hear. Have fun building more modulars in the next decades as well!
I’m Nearly 60…And My Name Is Carole Too❤️🤓❤️
I really hope we get a nice detailed Hospital next in 2026... Probably we will get a new Town Square for 2027 as "20th Anniversary".
We need a post office
Bookshop is underrated. I thought it would be a lame build and not impressive, but I had a fun time building it and it just looks good!
I’m glad to hear that. I’ve been holding off on building mine until I have time to enjoy the process.
I might be biased because it was my 1st one but I love it too. Is it the best no, but it’s got that perfect cozy feel to it.
I really like the Legoland feeling of the PetShop and the Fire Brigade. I think it is cool when Lego looks like Lego. So these are two of my favorites.
Congrats Brick Fanatics for 50 K Subscribers!!! A great milestone!
My Favs Are…
Brick Bank
Parisian Restaurant
Boutique Hotel
Tudor Corner
&&&&&&&
Assembly Square‼️
I'm a new subscriber. As an adult I have rediscovered my love of Lego. I just got the Van Gough Starry Night set and I'm so excited to build it.
A really fantastic set. Very clever.
I'm about to build the milkyway galaxy set
great video, really enjoyed it through!
just wanted to add a minor (very polite, constructive!!) piece of feedback! when you talk, it’s great to see your enthusiastic, lovely face, but.. it can be a little frustrating when you talk about something that, say, you really like, or something you’re pointing out, but you don’t show us it, leading to often having to replay the video back a few times to get a possible image to see what you’re talking about, to relate to it!
other than that, really engaging, well thought through and interesting, well described video, thanks :)
Perfect timing for me, I was wondering what modular building set to seek out next. Now I have a reasoned list to pick an educated choice from.
The Police Station, the set that brought me back to lego, and the Natural History Museum are my favorites!!😍
The museum looks great! Don't understand why haters hate.
@@samspetifore9875Because there is just not a lot going on inside, it looks lackluster in my opinion 🤷🏻♂️
Building Tudor Corner currently. I have no other modulars, but I fell in love with its design. It’s also the most fun I’ve ever had building a set. Makes me feel like a kid again!
I would like a post office please? Maybe a Royal Mail style logo.
Congrats on 50K! I love your content and your takes on sets like these.
A point of contention: Downtown Diner is the latest modular to feature a brick build lettered sign, coming out after the Palace Cinema. It was also the first to introduce turquoise as a dominant colour, before the Book Shop.
All the way to 50K. Congratulations and Happy Holidays.🙂
WHAT??!! Bookshop at number 15??!! No, No, No!! 🎉
😳🤭🥹🤓😂

Green Grocer was way ahead of its time. To this day, it's my favourite Lego set ever!
It just showed me the true potential of the modular buildings

Agree. I didn’t buy it for that reason.

The top 5 most beautiful modulars are:
1. Tudor Corner
2. Boutique Hotel
3. Parisian Restaurant
4. Brick Bank
5. Assembly Square
Honorable mention: Detective's Office
Corner Garage is still my favourite. Might be a bit of a sentimental choice as it is the first modular I bought.

Couldn’t agree more with number 1. It’s also my favourite too! Like you said, it’s one of the best Lego sets… period (regardless of theme)!
Sets that I want to see
-Hospital(maybe at a 20 year anniversary)
-Post Office
-Small condo building with food court below
-A small pub
Accurate ratings. Used to look at these modular buildings for hours in the catalogs that would come to my house. I always wanted the pet shop but 1 and 2 on the list are also ones I would want in the future

Favourite is the diner. But when I built it I mirrored it as I think the big D being more centred makes it look better balanced.

The next set we should get should either be a hospital or an aquarium.
Nice video. I think turn point was detective office and Parisian restaurant. After that we have continously far realistic buildings. From previous one I choose Fire building.
Here is my list
1 boutique hotel
2 corner garage
3 town hall
4 brickbank
5 downtown dinner
6 cinema
7 police station
8 corner hotel
9 detective office
10 corner Shop
11 jazz club
12 assembly square
13 library
14 parisian restaurant
15 pet Shop
16 museum
17 firemen station
18 Green grocery
19 market street
I don't rank tudor house as i don't own it yet.
If i add to this list :
Sanctum sanctorum 16
Botanical garden and fisherman house would be 5
Great video. I have the Police Station and just got the new Tudor Corner Building. Trying to figure out which to add for the third building.
Currently building Boutique hotel and have Museum and Garage in my cupboard waiting. You actually made me LOL with carhole.
It's not too bad for fans that missed the older ones they might just get remade better
I'm hoping for the 20th anniversary they make an architect's studio, where it's revealed that architect designed all the modular buildings in the city
I think the newest set would be my favorite although i haven't built or bought it yet. Parisian restaurant is certainly up there as well.
14:40 Rule number 1 of Jazz Club: you don't talk about Jazz Club 😉
Would have loved a timeline or more visual representation of what your ranking is. Besides that, it is crazy that prices of these modulars have increased 50% since it started. They better freeze the prices. 200 was a great price point. 230 is pushing it. At this speed we will be towards 300 in a few years😢
Perhaps a courthouse as a new alternate for the town hall?
It would allow both to live in the same city, or you could leave the older style out and focus on the newer more highly detailed version
I was thinking a courthouse, too. On top of re-vamping the Town Hall, I would love a courtroom.
I know Lego considers Marketstreet part of the modular line, but it just feels so different to me. I wish I could verbalize why.
Great list
THE GRAND EMPORIUM IS PEAK LEGO
Police station was my first and favorite. I even got the police car too.
Bookshop this low is criminal. But I enjoyed the video! Would have liked some more images and chapters in the video.
As soon as I saw Tudor Corner it was an instant buy... can't wait for January 1st!
Next set needs to be a hospital with a life flight landing pad on the roof. Then do a life flight helicopter as a gwp.
The fire brigade being ranked so low is ridiculous!
It’s a beautiful set that is a staple of any city and fits in well next to others.
That being said, it should be 2 stall, the brick built sign is unnecessary, and the modern fireman uniforms should be period specific
I believe everyone agree Market Street is the worst one. Always! There’s no polemic over it. No one really cares for that poor blue fella.
18:13 The Downtown Diner was the first to not include the simple smiley faces.
that simpsons gag was awesome!
I love the Brick Bank
I'm hoping for 2026 we get something like a school or a hospital as either one of those is overdue to be a modular building
I have heard criticism of the Tudor Corner roof. There is no parapet or railing around the roof, no skylights, no dome, or water tower. A missed opportunity, because unless you get inside, or down on the narrow sidewalk, the roof is really the largest playable surface.
To all fairness... I've never seen skylights, domes or water towers in such buildings.
@ I was throwing out examples, but a parapet or railing wouldn’t be out of place. Something up there for minifigs to engage with.
32:02 HOSPITAL!!!!!!

Q
Bookshop is much better than the corner garage IMO!
Garage?!?!?! Well, la-dee-da, Mr. Frenchman!
50% talking about lego 30% dusting lego 15% building lego 5% life 👍
I tried to go see the Tudor Review but adverts were blocking the articles :/
“Car hole” sounds neutral. 😂
