Corner Garage was the first modular I bought. It's great. Fire Station - the chunky brick flag irritates me, If I had it (no chance at current prices!) I'd be changing or removing it.
I wonder if people will appreciate Jazz Club once it retires. Detective’s Office and Brick Bank are two of the best modulars but apparently they weren’t the best selling
Police Station was my first (not counting the Marvel modular compatible buildings). Soooo much detail and storytelling going on. Gold for me. Everything flows. Boutique Hotel is great from most angles but the stairs and interior room layouts are a little awkward. Really excited for the Tudor Corner coming out though.
Same. The color might be questionable, but it's hard to fault any other aspect of the design. So much ingenuity packed into a seamless, classic, realistic, handsome exterior.
No medal for corner garage? It was my first modular so I can’t get behind this ranking. I would also recommend an S-F Tier List to offer more differentiation in the rankings but great video overall!
If I had to pick a favorite modular based on my own personal taste and bias, it would be the Downtown Diner and Detective's Office in a very close 2nd. If I had to pick ONE modular to recommend to anyone who either wants to start collecting, or just wants one, it would be Assembly Square. It just has by far the most stuff going on in it. Plus, with the 3-building layout it looks like an entire town all by itself.
My favorite and the start of my city was the boutique hotel.... then the jazz club. choosing between them... my favorite is now the cub. Of course the hotel is great. So you have to build both.
Thanks for the video! Ive been collecting Modulars since I was in middle school and love to see other people’s rankings. Personally I really like the diner and the garage, yeah they look different than the other buildings, but I think I would get bored if every building had the exact same architectural design. I love the variety. It gives the city a bit more character imo. Plus the industrial look of the garage is extremely fitting for the theme of “garage“. Same with diner. Also maybe I’m totally biased but I don’t mind more thread bare interiors… pet shop is my favourite Modular.
The Pet store is what got me back into Lego... rather.. it was the Lego Movie. The building attached to the pet shop - Emmets downtown apartment is a modified version of it. Dang after I bought that... things just spiralled out of control 😅
i think green grocer is one of the best modulars. For its age the first floor interior is a massive step up from nothing. 2nd and 3rd floors are a bit bland. But that little rooftop bbq adds so much charm! and adding to the realism with a fire escape on the back as well. My only issue with it is the cost. It costs an arm and a leg to afford with how rare and collectable it is. Still gold tier in my eyes
Great video ☺️ love modular buildings but not but I dont buy anny yet. I love also that lego made other buildings fit with these like ghost mansion and dr strange house
There is no way the Corner Garage gets no medal, it is at the very least a bronze if not silver. The Detective’s Office and Police Station deserve Gold as well imo.
The only Modular I own is the Parisian Restaurant (I received it as a gift). Many reviewers rank it very high … and it probably deserves it for the architectural beauty … but, geez … the apartment doesn’t even have a kitchen sink! Doesn’t have a refrigerator either … and there is certainly room for them!I I modified the set, added a restroom for the restaurant and also one for the apartment. All of the floors have tiling now too! With the add ons … now it deserves a gold. 🥇
Don't forget the laundromat has a pass through to the vault of the bank from a washing machine to literally "launder money" though. And then the laundromat have a billboard on the police station.
Happy holidays!! Glad to see you put the boutique hotel set in gold as it is the only one I have. If I wear to get another modular to go with the boutique hotel which do you recommend? Preferably something that isn’t crazy expensive. Thanks!
Happy holidays! That’s such an awesome one to have 😄 I’ll try my best to come up with pairings… Sets Still Available: • Jazz Club might be your best bet! It’s a fancy establishment, so thematically it would be a nice attraction next door. The palm tree would somewhat work next to the club, too. The colors will contrast a lot, so you’d need something else with neutral colors to eventually balance it out (like Police Station…maybe Natural History Museum). • Natural History Museum might look alright! It’s slightly more expensive, but it’s a massive set. Would be a fun experience! I’m not a fan of the olive green, myself, but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad set. Retired Sets: • Police Station seems to pair well with the Boutique Hotel aesthetically, but it’s also a police station. Maybe not as fun of a display. I think it’s cool. • Bookshop and Parisian Restaurant would probably look pretty good, too. Both seem to be reasonably priced for being retired. Usually best to buy sets when they’re still available in LEGO’s stores, but your miles will vary when it comes to picking up something retired. Hope that helps! 🙂
What did Corner Garage ever do to you? C'mon, it literally has the best easter egg out of any modular (Dr. Jones Animal Care: No Snakes!). Leagues better than the first two (dare I say three).
I've seen a very positive reception to the Tudor Corner but there's something about it I'm not a fan of I'd def rank it behind some other recent ones like the Hotel and Museum
Okay this video was great for my fomo, realizing 1. That there arent that many modulars that have come out, and 2. That most of them are actually subpar to what you could just moc But ranking the diner/gasstation/museum that low is sinful
Hey! Thank's for video! Really nice) What do you think is better to buy among current Gold modulars? Hotel or Tudor? Considering I only have Diner right now.
Glad you liked the video! Thank you for checking it out 🙂 I feel like the hotel would match your Diner better than Tudor, but I personally like the look of Tudor by itself more than the hotel. I’m not quite sure what to pair Tudor with yet, but you can’t go wrong with either as a standalone, though 🙂
I know most people who stepped in to collect modular recently or after past 3-4 sets since the Cafe Corner came out didn't appreciate a region of the origin, so they didn't like Market Street or even Cafe Corner itself but for me who collect them all from 2005 I always honor them and never put them in a bottom list plus you need to take it to a consider that when the first modular came out the they don't focus on the interior so of course you can't compare and say Cafe Corner is not that great because they don't have a good interior. With all design I actually put Downtown dinner at the bottom, I just don't like the design, and the style of architecture didn't go well with the rest of modular.
I just bought a MISB Downtown Diner. So i have them all from the assembly square onward. I just think that the new modulars have a better inside. The older ones have great outsides tho. The fire brigade, the town hall, etc. I bought a fake lego fire station to see the quality. I am not willing to spent a few thousand bucks to get my hands on all the old ones. Either fake is good enough or it is not in which case i will just buy my favorites
@BrickedtoPerfection yeah, and i am reluctant to buy used sets. But new 9n box is fairly expensive. Only paid 240 for the Diner tho. I am looking forward to next years modular already. Hope we finally get a hospital of 2 baseplates😅
Wow, nice find with Diner! A hospital modular would be so awesome. I'm also reluctant to buy used - even if the set is clean and complete, it's just not the same as opening the box yourself 🙂
A modular hospital would be cool! I know they typically like to pair the buildings with other storefronts with the modern sets. Maybe they could do a clinic for the modular line? For the City line, I’m sure they’ll make another hospital at some point. Most likely an open back set, if I were to guess 🙂
I own half of these. I would say the first three of the silver tier need to move down to bronze. Interior is just not good enough. Museum should be gold. Corner garage at least silver. Market street shouldn’t medal.
The Downtown Diner is highly underrated. I didn’t appreciate it until I built it. Modular buildings can be boring to build, but Downtown Diner blew me away!
The boutique hotel has some horrible gaps, which makes it not worthy of the gold. Especially since it is an "anniversary set", but lacks every wow factor the assembly square had.
Not for this list 🙂 It was a modular design in the original LEGO Ideas concept, but LEGO understandably modified it to be a (larger) standalone building when it hit retail. They have certain requirements for a set to be technically modular in their system. It does have some modular features like removable top sections, though! It’s a beautiful building 😄
Justice for Corner Garage! Much better than the first two modulars
Corner garage was legit silver easily
Agreed, I love the Garage! It looks great next to the barbershop on the Detective’s Office.
Why'd he have to do that to my one modular?
I also really like the detective office, and of course, the Tudor corner is fantastic
I like this corner garage. Nice complex build. In my city it is next to the police station - that works.
Corner Garage was the first modular I bought. It's great.
Fire Station - the chunky brick flag irritates me, If I had it (no chance at current prices!) I'd be changing or removing it.
Jazz Club and Detectives Office are so underated
I wonder if people will appreciate Jazz Club once it retires. Detective’s Office and Brick Bank are two of the best modulars but apparently they weren’t the best selling
Totally agree, I've wanted the detectives office since I was a kid, one of the best for sure
The jazz club and police station should definitely have been Gold. No doubt.
Totally agree with you 👍
Police Station was my first (not counting the Marvel modular compatible buildings). Soooo much detail and storytelling going on. Gold for me. Everything flows. Boutique Hotel is great from most angles but the stairs and interior room layouts are a little awkward. Really excited for the Tudor Corner coming out though.
I love museum, for sure one of my favourite. Gold in my eyes. But great ranking overall.
Yeah, that's the only one I didn't agree with. The museum is one of my favorites as well.
Same. The color might be questionable, but it's hard to fault any other aspect of the design. So much ingenuity packed into a seamless, classic, realistic, handsome exterior.
I am some agree some not. Architecture perfect but inside of it so dull so plain.
No medal for corner garage? It was my first modular so I can’t get behind this ranking. I would also recommend an S-F Tier List to offer more differentiation in the rankings but great video overall!
Thank you for a new video! I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Hope your channel grows!
Thank you so much, Boris! Always great to see you in the comments. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, as well 😄
If I had to pick a favorite modular based on my own personal taste and bias, it would be the Downtown Diner and Detective's Office in a very close 2nd.

I totally agree, Assembly Square is a great starting point! 🙂
Excellent video! I don’t personally collect modulars but I like admiring them. I know my wallet is thankful because I would need to collect them all!
If you haven’t started yet, then you’re doing your wallet a favor lol
My favorite and the start of my city was the boutique hotel.... then the jazz club. choosing between them... my favorite is now the cub. Of course the hotel is great. So you have to build both.

Always nice to see a Modular compilation 😃👍 and I agree with your opinions about all the builds
Your channel reminds me of the channel Smeaf, who covers 3D animation trends.
police station not being gold is wild
I look forward to these videos. Have a great weekend everyone!
I appreciate that! You too, have a great weekend 😄

Great video as always! Merry Christmas and best wishes for 2025!
best channel, the only lego channel that looks at all the high detail sets and mocs!
Thanks, that means a lot! Glad you’re enjoying the quality stuff! 😄
Great video ☺️ love modular buildings but not but I dont buy anny yet. I love also that lego made other buildings fit with these like ghost mansion and dr strange house

Nice add-ons! You're totally spot on with that 😄
Police station is A gold, The Corner garage is a strong silver
Nice video. Good analysis
Don't forget the laundromat has a pass through to the vault of the bank from a washing machine to literally "launder money" though. And then the laundromat have a billboard on the police station.
One of the best Lego channels by far. So pro.
You're so kind - thank you Reuben! 😄
Happy holidays!! Glad to see you put the boutique hotel set in gold as it is the only one I have. If I wear to get another modular to go with the boutique hotel which do you recommend? Preferably something that isn’t crazy expensive. Thanks!

Thanks so much! Yeah I really like the jazz club thanks for your input
What did Corner Garage ever do to you? C'mon, it literally has the best easter egg out of any modular (Dr. Jones Animal Care: No Snakes!). Leagues better than the first two (dare I say three).
Amazing video I liked how you ranked them in chronological order, I would put the police station in gold
I actually agree with most. I'd just say Fire Brigade and Brick Bank to Silver and Detective's Office to Gold. Screw the garage hahahaha
Put the detectives office on gold, then it is the best modular ranking i've ever seen!
I've seen a very positive reception to the Tudor Corner but there's something about it I'm not a fan of
I'd def rank it behind some other recent ones like the Hotel and Museum

#4 Hotel, I can't figure out what kind of architecture that is and to me out of place with other modulars.
Hey! Thank's for video! Really nice)
What do you think is better to buy among current Gold modulars? Hotel or Tudor? Considering I only have Diner right now.

Cannot believe corner garage is no medal. That’s insane.
Trying to figure out why the Marvel modulars were left out.
Do you count the 2024 ideas botanical garden as a modular ?
I just bought a MISB Downtown Diner. So i have them all from the assembly square onward. I just think that the new modulars have a better inside. The older ones have great outsides tho. The fire brigade, the town hall, etc. I bought a fake lego fire station to see the quality. I am not willing to spent a few thousand bucks to get my hands on all the old ones. It’s so incredibly tough to get the older ones now, for sure! It’s cool to see how much better the interiors have gotten over the years 🙂
@BrickedtoPerfection yeah, and i am reluctant to buy used sets. But new 9n box is fairly expensive. Only paid 240 for the Diner tho.

Wow, nice find with Diner! A hospital modular would be so awesome. I'm also reluctant to buy used - even if the set is clean and complete, it's just not the same as opening the box yourself 🙂
In your opinion, do you think Lego could make a modular hospital set for the city?
A modular hospital would be cool! I know they typically like to pair the buildings with other storefronts with the modern sets. Maybe they could do a clinic for the modular line? For the City line, I’m sure they’ll make another hospital at some point. Most likely an open back set, if I were to guess 🙂
The Tudor build is supposed to have an old-fashioned style, seeing as it's from the Tudor period in English history.
I’m curious how many you have built?
I own half of these. I would say the first three of the silver tier need to move down to bronze. Interior is just not good enough. Museum should be gold. Corner garage at least silver. Market street shouldn’t medal.
Love these but don't collect modular building fir reason thar space abd money but might pick up tudor corner because of British etc
Careful: once you buy one modular, it's very very very difficult to not buy more 😉
9:26 IMO it should’ve been a corner build
You have beautiful hands
Handsome hand 😍
The Downtown Diner is highly underrated. I didn’t appreciate it until I built it. Modular buildings can be boring to build, but Downtown Diner blew me away!
Not to brag, but I have them all.
The boutique hotel has some horrible gaps, which makes it not worthy of the gold. Especially since it is an "anniversary set", but lacks every wow factor the assembly square had.
🤘🏼😎🤘🏼
🤜🤛
would you not consider the botanical garden a modular?
Why would it be?
Not for this list 🙂 It was a modular design in the original LEGO Ideas concept, but LEGO understandably modified it to be a (larger) standalone building when it hit retail. They have certain requirements for a set to be technically modular in their system.
It does have some modular features like removable top sections, though! It’s a beautiful building 😄
Natural History Museum as a bronze is EXACTLY the right tier. That olive green color is a massive fail
@@heymanhn do you own it?When I first saw it, I thought it was also bad, but now that I own it, it has grown on me
I like the color. I don’t like that it’s over 4000 pieces yet it feels empty and not as grand as Assembly Square
