Yes in Pakistan we have tikka , afghani , malai boti , shawarma pizzas at our local pizza houses and even international ones :D and the newest invention is pizza paratha at our chai cafes .
Okay I got some more praises for Lucas. Not only is he a great host but he's an even better guest. Notice when he interviews people he does not interrupt them when they are answering. So many hosts will always want to jump in with what they know trying to impress. There's only one other food host that comes to mind when I think of non-intrusive interviewers, Anthony Bourdain. He too has an almost encyclopedic knowledge of food but yet he still always let's the experts explain and talk. Like I said, great hosts but even better guests. Number one rule when visiting establishments, countries or homes, be a good guest! Thanks for being great Lucas!
This stuff kicks ass. Italian pizza is great but this is next level. I mean Indians in general have been working with cheese and dough for hundreds of years.
I live in San Francisco, and I haven't had breakfast yet. I think I'll wait a few hours, and seek out that location for lunch. That Indian pizza looks so good. I'm so hungry right now. 😭
I'm british and we have indian/pakistabi owned takeaways everywhere that all sell pizza like this. Italian pizza made better with south asian elements.
I'm gonna sell my PC, travel to san francisco, work at their restaurant, secretly document every particle of ingredients on the dough then open up a new restaurant and become the godfather of the godfather, that's me sorted.
in the uk we have lots of indian style pizzas they are delicious and i personally prefer them to italian style as boom your hit with a serious flavour explosion its great
I (partially) grew up in Italy, and I want to try this pizza! It looks awesome. There's a lot of pizza parlors run by Indians where I'm living now, and they also sell curries. But none of them has ever thought of actually combining the flavors. The Godfather of Indian Pizza is a genius!
TallerYT Zante's opened in 1986. Im from the UK and aged 48 and can remember eating takeaway tikka/korma pizzas as a kid, aged 7-8, so we are talking around the mid to late 70's. Even before that, they where widely available from the Indian/Pizza takeaways in larger towns/cities (I live in a small backwater town).
Pikachu this is the comment every person in the UK has been looking for 😂 but kudos to the guy for making it into his own and making it special and it's all about chicken tika lamb Donner pizza combo some keema in there as well cause why not
So have some in the UK. I'm 48 years old and can remember having tikka/korma pizzas way back when I was a kid aged 7-8 years old, so i am talking mid to late 70's. And even then, they probably where around before that.
The Indian population is also much more established in the UK due to colonialism. Chinese food is the American go to, since those communities have been around since the gold rush.
When I lived in San Francisco I would order from this place all the time. So damn good. I can say any of the other "Indian Pizza" spots I have tried in LA, NYC, Dallas, or Houston do not compare to this place. I really think it is the combo of the dough and sauce that puts it over the top.
Indian food is not very subtle, it's huge awesome flavors, overload of flavors , and I love it! And Pizza is ( the way I like it) the same strong flavors (but maybe without the diversity of flavors), so no wonder they go so well. Besides Pizza base is just thicker Naan bread anyway :P

Yep. Plus these shows on UA-cam have actual people of color. You’d be hard pressed to find one show on the Food Network with a star who’s anything but White.
Lived in south of Munich last year and I was able to find indian pizza (paneer tikka pizza) place in a small village. The taste was mindblowing. I still miss it.
I miss San Francisco... Lived there for 11 years. Had Zante's a few times and their Indian pizza is truly delicious. Even though it's been years since I had it, I had a dream about eating it just last night. That's how good it is! It's a shame that this is the only place in the world I've ever even heard of Indian Pizza.
I loooove Zantes- Been eating there for years! I always ordered their pizza with a large Taj Mahal but I moved from SF last month and it was the first restaurant I’ve missed 💔
this looks dope. i think i'd like a thinner more margharita styled indian flavored pizza. like a curry butter, mozz, fresh greens, some fruit or veggie and maybe some kind of chicken. real thin on chez and sauce to let the dough come through. the dough has to be more like buttered naan bread.
the only reason i subscribed is because of lucas. you should do a video of lucas childhood so we can get to know him a little more or have him sit down somewhere nice and ask him questions about him.

Lucas is a fantastic host of the show. He is fairly well-versed in south asian (Indian, Pakistani, Bengali, SriLankan, Nepali) cuisine to be able to draw upon former experiences and see how different foods blend. .
I am an Indian. We don't put cauliflower in pizza. Our sauces for the pizza is different it tastes like salsa but sweet and contains onion, capsicum , tomato and spices . It works as the topping also.
that Indian pizza looks VERY fulfilling! It can feed... maybe 5 people? I cracked up at the Godfather moment, the pizza hut commercial (looking at you, Mr. President!) and when Lucas told people FU... :')) Looking forward to the next episode. And please, go global next season, DoaD!
Even though He called it a monstrosity to put cheese inside the crust of the pizza, it’s pretty popular where I live. Obviously I don’t like it, but somehow other people do. Now they have a version where they make little bread wells lined up around the pizza so it’s like a giant flower, and they put the cheese inside those pockets.
I used to order Indian Pizza from zantes back in the early mid-nineties and I would have the pizza that had bay scallops on it freaking delicious Love's zantes!
It's nice that places in the outlying areas of San Francisco are being highlighted. Parking near Zante is easier in the Bernal Heights area. On public transit, it is just one bus line (24 Divisadero) away from the Castro Muni Metro station. Within a six-minute walking distance is the 64-year-old famous Mitchell's Ice Cream on San Jose Avenue.
You know what, Indian chains can learn a thing or two from this. Yes, we have paneer pizza here but most chains just import or rely on marked up exotic ingredients like jalapenos or paprika instead of leaning into the more unique Indian flavors and melding the two cultures.

I love how he started to say coriander, then remembered that he had to translate it to cilantro for the American audience
Shane Walta what seriously u don't call it coriander ....... the more u know
Dharya Pimpale I call it coriander, I'm British. But in the USA they call it cilantro.
Yeah! Cilantro is the spanish word for coriander I believe and north americans call it that, but us Brits just call it coriander.
MultiBigbird01 I'm pretty sure the whole rest of the world calls it coriander. But the Americans just have to be different!
Indians follow british english so yeah whatever you call they call, lady fingers, brinjal, beetroot, capsicum, coriander etc.
