Your watches are true works of art. I work in high end finance in London, and have multiple associates that are quite enamored with your timepieces. The 1 request they have all put forth is to see a model in the 36 mm case range (akin to the Tudor bay 36 or the submariner 36 , etc). If you would come out with that type of a case, I assure you there would be even more excited customers. Thank you truly for a wonderful product.

Excellent review Pete! I happen to own V1 in blue, a rich blue colour. Other than being discontinued in this colour I'm glad V2 doesn't make V1 look obsolete now. I happen to get a good fit with the butterfly clasp. I'd like to add that I haven't experienced but good and friendly customer service by Sergio.

I own the Mondial in white. It is so nice on the wrist. I agree with you that Direnzo deserves to have an applied logo. I also love the font choice on the word; Automatic. It creates a nostalgic feel.
I gotta say after seeing your video Peter, this light blue is just so beautiful. I was after the purple one, or white one, but now this one wins it all 💙 Happy, that Sergio went with the second batch and a new colors for this model :) Great watch!

i jut pulled the trigger on drz05 solaris a week ago. direnzo is doing something very right and i'd say with this 04v2's release they are about to reach baltic's prestige in microbrands. it also helps that the owner sergio seems like a nice person from our brief exhanges on email.
One day... one day, that white dial is gonna be mine, i promise (for now, i just can't...). This is a beautiful watch, unique design, good quality, amazing looks. Bravo signiore Direnzo, complimenti!

PS Early last year, when all watch nerds were chasing green dial watches, i was saying that red was the colour to come (name one brand that does NOT have a red dial on their catalogue today...) and mostly that the avant-garde-ists will praise and collect purple dials.... Guess what.................................................................!!!!! hahahaha (Keep the purple, hear me! Or trade it for a white!!! 😉)

They are very cool looking watches, not my taste, but I definitely see the appeal. Out of the colour options, I think the purple is the most interesting.
Bought the Sinn 556 limited edition red& also the mocha ( last one available & no longer being made) after Peters review, this looks like a good bet too. It’s getting harder & harder to justify paying thousands on an Omega/ Tudor etc when these watches are so well finished. I realise the movements are not “in house” & accuracy is not the same but really in the days of smart phones etc is +/- 1 sec per day on a ,mechanical watch that big a deal? not for me. The prestige of Omega speed master etc etc is acknowledged, I have a couple of Omegas bought many years ago & they scream quality, but these new watches like Direnzo are outstanding value. Thanks for opening my eyes a bit Peter.

Got baby blue yesterday and looking forward to own my 1st Direnzo watch.Last year was fighting myself over integrated bracelet and white version and didnt pulled the trigger that time.Now after seeing pastel blue I couldnt resist😁Will see if its so good quality as others say.Always wanted something nice in pastel blue and in terms of design theres not much competition on this price level on the market.Tribus small sec(I own yellow version though),Halios Universa and Doxa Sub200,but Drz is top2 for me with the Doxa.Drz have advantage for not being a diver watch,since I dont want to make majority of my watches a thicker dive watches.So it might be a best choice for me☺️

Difficult to argue with a watch like this at that price point. Frankly astonishing. Lovely design, great dial, fun date window, really like the hands. I absolutely agree on satin bracelets vs polished centre links. Polished links after some wear just doesn’t hold up as well as brushed finishing. The colours a bit out there for me, I would have liked to see perhaps a blue or green but having said that the Tiffany and purple are lovely colours if you are confident enough to pull them off

I stand corrected re butterfly clasp on your drz02 video, but Direzno since released half links for the DRZ04, probably negating the negative
Great to see the DRZ04 appear on your channel as well. I have to say both Dil options look stronger in your footage than the visuals I had seen so far. For me the polished insets on the bracelet make it potentially worth the trouble: where I usually don't go for bracelets, this one is tempting me. Indeed, I have been wondering about getting one for a while, but can't seem to make up my mind. I may personally prefer the blue of the V1, but this footage gives some additional consideration. Now, forgive me for what's perhaps an odd request, but you're now the only one I know in a position to compare the quality and experience of this Direnzo with the Straum Opphav. I personally regret that Straum didn't go the full integrated bracelet route, and adapted their excellent leathers accordingly. I feel like I shouldn't rush into this Direnzo as the Straum is such a strong specimen of a smart sports watch already. Can I tempt you to make comparative comments? (Also early on in your video it looks like there is dual colour lume, but in the later lume shot this is not the case. Just optical illusion?)

both are very good watches and very different.
The Straum's finishing looks a tad sharper, but the Direnzo has a hardness coating of 800Hv
The dial of the Straum is complex and mesmerising whereas the Direnzo boasts in its simplicity and excellent design.
As for bracelet options, the Straum has one coming soon, the Direnzo feels and looks superb

@@PeterKotsa thanks for your thoughts. Somehow the choice for Straum was easily made. Perhaps because I've never owned a bracelet and Straum's was not on the horizon yet. Yet, I feel myself drawn to integrated bracelet watches and this is an excellent example. The one thing I don't quite understand is why Straum didn't widen their lugs to fully go with an integrated look, since they already customised the leather strap to meet the case line, it would have been relatively easy to have one with a narrow section jutting in between the lugs, like Direnzo's rubbers.
Straum is also a few hundred more expensive already,so with the bracelet it will be 2x almost.Bracelet itself I think will be 150-200$ range
@@piotrszmidel true. In my case, since I already own one, it's more a question of whether it would truly be worth adding a Mondial. I go back and forth between really wanting one and not being sure it would add something sufficiently significant. The bracelet for the Straum is too expensive for an add on considering the cost of the watch and would certainly have looked better if of the more integrated, wide lug, variety. Without the bracelet I'd consider the Straum and DRZ04 at full price to be competitors. It must be said that the leather strap on the Straum is also clearly custom for the watch case shape and of an excellent feeling quality.
As you said Peter, Sergio does put a lot of thought into his designs & it’s reflected in the very high quality! It really is the little things for sure. Until you mentioned maybe a embossed or raised logo, I hadn’t given it much thought, but boy that would elevate it immensely! I still love wearing my DR-03 btw.😎👍🏼

i love the dials on the darker colors and the darkening effect. I wish I really loved the purple as much as I loved the VanBanner purple. it's close. I love the blue but it doesn't have that same effect.
I am really interested in the blue........except it's a perfect summer watch, especially on the white rubber strap and it's not coming out until September. That is absolutely killing me...

Yeah they're hard to find 'real' negatives with aren't they!? I really like my DRZ03 and been looking at the 04. Really want the V1 meteorite, it looks stunning. Been toying with trying to get a V2, the bling is the only bit that I'm not 100% into. Sergio has been great on his Facebook group listening to people and helping with issues, personal replies etc. I love that side of microbrands.

I already have and enjoying the DRZ04 V1 with White Dial already. But, these new colors are super tempting. That light blue and purple are probably my 2 favorites. The red is nice too. But, if I were to go red, I'd do the more like edition with the red meteorite dial.
I think you got a top unit in that white V1, thats my second favourite, well done 🔥

I don't like the Automatic font and agree regarding an applied logo. Otherwise really great watch!
Certainly a good match, but I find the hour track confusing.
There are five minutes between 5 and 10, so having 4 markers, ie 5 intervals in between is adequate. But we usually do not split hours in 12 minute segments, it typically is 15 minute segments. Could have done without the hour track for improved legibility IMO.
That handset could be more legible I honestly couldn't see the hour hand good.
I was on the fence about about purchasing this watch Only because I have so many in other watches in my collection. But my order is in! Yes, there are a few things I would love to see improve on this watch and it's all about the bracelet and clasp. The polished center links need to go. This watch has way too many good things going for it to need them and I think it would actually look better. Also this is a sports watch and doesn't need a butterfly clasp, so why have it? The next step for Direnzo and many other micro-brands are to get on board with micro adjust on the fly clasp. As the market keeps getting more competitive guys like me are looking for little (actually big) things like this. Not sure why people making watches aren't listening. But I love the look of this watch an am a fan and a buyer.

the disappointing part of that brand is they didn't mention that it's a limited amount. they bothered putting a limited number on the meteorite but not on the other piece.
i got to their website a few hours after release due to the time difference and to my dismay blue is sold out.
very nice watch. i am kinda i love with this watch. i wish Direnzo would get rid of the logo (it is bad graphic design) and just let the name on it. it would give the watch more class. if so, i would buy all colors.

Yes I agree I just can’t get comfortable with butterfly clasps, even though they are quality, my Alpina chronograph and Movado have them and I just can’t get a good fit no matter what I do. For the Alpina I put a stretchy expansion bracelet on it and it’s surprisingly comfortable, and as for the Movado, well I’ll never be able to sell it now and I don’t care but I took drastic measures to get it to fit I bought a Dremel tool and ground it out and re-polished it to thin it out a couple millimetres and I think I got it pretty good now. The Movado has 3/4 sized links and full links, and why they would not go with half links is beyond me. But even a cheap clasp with three micro adjusts that’s on my tactical frog V3 is so much more comfortable than any expensive watch with a butterfly clasp because it sits so much flatter and more flush with your wrist with no bulky chunk of metal digging into your skin, even if you wear it looser.
Damn, if it had an applied logo i wouldve brought one, it wouldve made it perfect.

Very nice looking watch but the integrated bracelet is a downer for me as I like to try my watches on different straps. Good revue though.

Lovely watch in blue and yet...do we need three lines below the 12 ? It makes it look top heavy visually and duplication of location - geneve + swiss made - nolonger holds the cache it used to, so chose one or other for the 6 position and free up the top to breathe. Secondly, does the second hand need a pointer when the roundel hits the markers on the inner track or is that too mondaine ?
Nice watches but round date windows are not for me, especially when displaying double digit dates. More often than not they shrink the double digits down to a smaller size to fit in well centered , or look crammed in with the potential for cut off . Otherwise, i too would struggle to find fault at this price.

Peter hello how the light blue compares in color to the Australis Sea Shade light blue? I like this one but don't want two watches with the same dial color.
The Australis is darker than this, the Direnzo is a lighter blue and slightly different tone

I’d like to see a larger, easier to read date
On the version 1 these were colour matched to the dials and i think it would have been a little difficult to see that date.
This V2 being in a clean white, seems to work really well for legibility (on both these models blue and purple)..thats my experience with these

I really like the look of a bracelet, but I don't like wearing one. Rubber straps are not my cup of tea either, get's too sweaty for me. I love nato's, both nylon and leather or even better, elastic ones, so a watch with a 14 mm lug with that only works with the original bracelet or rubber will never be for me. That blue watch looks awesome, if only it had had 20 mm lug width.

Please don't compare this to an Omega or Tudor - there is no comparison - in-house movements, better bracelets, and case finishing. This is ok for a 'lets copy the tiffany colour' - and attempt to not look like a Rolex.
I own my fair share of excellent Swiss watches (Omega, Tudor Rolex), and I am well aware of the vast differences. I never compared apples with oranges.
However, when a micro-brand produces a watch finished to this level and quality, it makes it very difficult to justify spending 10x the dollar amount, thats a given
Why not? Come on with the snobbery, joking right. Let's see, the last I checked Tudor just started to use in-house movements less than a decade ago! And even then, not all models! Most still use modified eta. Get off your high horse. These are decent watches that punch way above their price point and I would argue the finishing does rival anything Tudor can do. Talk about an over priced, red headed step child of Rolex. Yeah...let's pay 3k for an eta, so over priced! Can't imagine ever buying a Tudor. And what about Rolex, how long were they around before they started producing in-house movements! In-house movements are not the end all be all, stupid mentality, just another hype buzz word. Don't look down a brand just starting out and putting out solid, well finished, properly priced watches with some originality. Look nothing like a Rolex. So are you going to look down on Patek for putting out a Tiffany blue dial? Just because someone puts out a certain color dial, no one else can do it?
@@xfortysd40 no high horse, I am a collector of watches at all prices. New Tudors do have the in house movements the detailing and bracelet are a level above this Direnzo, which is reasonable, no more, no less. But not comparable, more at this point to a mid priced Seiko would be reasonably justified. All of this punches above its weight, until you really drill down the details. Don’t get me wrong, I think the Direnzo is decent value for money, with own style, its just not as great as you think it is and unless you own some newer higher end pieces to say it compares is not realistic.
Oh No🥹🥺😭😭😭they screwed up the lugs!!!!! You can never put a strap or nato, or any other bracelet!!!!! This is so wrong🤬🤬 I was going to get one until I saw those horrible proprietary lugs! 👎👎sorry.
