Paul Okada well said. That’s why I ride something comfortable. Sport bikes are the best looking but I tend not to ride them as much for that reason. There’s a compromise to be had.

Nothing wrong with a sport bike. My 09 ZX6R is a blast to ride and so is my '17 WR250R Sumo. 2 different machines, 100% fun! Ride what YOU want and what you're comfortable with. If you're on 2, and you're having fun, that's all that matters!

I went from a super sport to a naked back to a sport for 2 reasons. 1) sport bikes are 1000x nicer looking than nakeds 2)I spend a lot of time outside the city and naked bikes are trash on the freeway, sport bikes while more aggressive are far more comfortable for me
I love my naked bikes now because my back can’t take clip ons but your not lying about highway wind. I ride more backroad and city anyway Highway sucks on anything but a cruiser really though. You have wind protection but holding your position for long times without moving can be brutal also for some.
@@mike-gv2ol it’s true, I slid my ass around and I got a big gut that I rest on the tank lol, combine that wind long legs so I can rest my elbows and I find them comfortable....just bombing around town there is nothing better than a naked, but for anything else I prefer sport bikes.....I’ve ridden a few cruisers but they were almost semi recline which kills my lower back after 20 minutes
My 2007 R1 still makes me smile everytime I see it and ride it. Its beautiful as hell. Everyone buys what they like. And of course people's tastes can change like anything else in life. It doesn't mean it doesn't make sense why people still buy sportbikes. I bet at one point you will get a sportbike again one day Cruza lol

I still remember you in your CBR 600RR. One day I might trade my beloved FZ 6 to get a CBR 600; what I like about 600 bikes is they make a a beautiful sound when you rev them.
Hell yeah I have an rc51 and a zx10r and love them. The looks are a big reason I got them. You have to see the bike everyday so get something easy on your eyes. The naked just don't do it for me but if you rid your cool with me
I have a 954RR. I only ride it when I am mentally ready to ride around at 100mph. So I do not ride it much on the street. Mine does not feel like it is running unless I am doing 80+

Nobody is buying a Lamborghini or Ferrari because it’s comfortable. It’s like saying why buy a two door Porsche when u can get the suv Porsche. I’m good on that 😂. We buy supersports for performance. They handle better, the suspension is usually better, they look better, and offer a unique experience. You’re right tho, it is a look at me type thing, but tell me what isn’t in this world. I plan on buying an R6 as I mentioned a few vids ago now that they won't be making them. That said, I love supersports, I don't think it makes you or me a poser because of that. Also, I live 40mi from the Adirondacks and twisty roads are the norm where I live

I have both a Supermoto and I have my 04' zx6r. I LOVE my 636. I never felt like a poser, when I ride, I am mainly thinking about being safe and having stress free fun for myself.

Supersports may be track bikes being brought to the streets, but with that perspective why do we have lambos, ferraris, mclarens, and all the supercars on the street? Hell, why do we have mustangs, challengers, or even basic coupes for that matter if a sedan or truck is a practical choice. Dare a go further and say if we have these practical cars, why even have motorcycles? It boils down to preference and what people want and experiences.

I thoroughly enjoy my 2008 cbr1000rr and just added for my Merry Christmas a 2020 cbr1000rr. I don't care what others think. I feel free as a bird when I ride. I'm the only female Sport bike rider in my area and I get a lot of questions about riding when I'm out and about. My husband rides a 2016 R1 and our 2 kids ages 7 and 10 both ride 50cc dirt bikes. My husband and I also ride 250 and 450 dirt bikes on our property.

💯 agree, comfortable ergos with torque!! 2015 Z650 custom -3/+3 gearing delivers an additional 33%torque. A bit more than 60 now. Super fun without being super crouched.
Man that’s the same bike I’ve been looking to upgrade too.. either the z650 or the 2019 cbr650r.... it’s a sports bike, but the ergonomic isn’t as aggressive..

I live in Sydney, that beeping of the horn thing is a good idea but here, it'll just ignite road rage. It might just be that one thing that pushes some psycho over the edge. I've noticed quite an increase in impatient drivers and riders, for a short time, me included. These days I'm more calm.

After getting my 2014 fz-09, I haven't really felt a need for another bike, it's just so fun and perfect (for me). Reliable, low maintenance, and good parts/dealership network unlike most euro bikes. Also, of all the japanese naked bikes, I think it's the best by far, light, powerful, comfortable, and it just rips. Maybe I'll just upgrade to the 2020 model in a few years lol. But I would like a secondary bike as well. Just don't know what bike...can't justify getting the heavier and more expensive naked bikes and I don't want a smaller naked bike unless there's something arguably better about it (e.g. Street triple, more smooth, superior suspension), though the 2017+ are too expensive... What to do...

I enjoy riding around to new places and enjoying the outdoors, then if I want to go fast I can here and there but most of my riding is just enjoying the outdoors and going where I want

Idk I'm currently looking for a new ride because a dumb semi-truck driver destroyed my zx10r. And still can't decide, I was looking into street fighters but still prefer looks full sportbike rather than naked, plus plastics are much easier to change. Besides that, most street fighters don't have the power of sportbikes, and it's difficult to justify going from 180hp to 120, yeah supposedly all these street fighters have torque down low but the pull of my zx10r was more than enough for me.
Cycle Crusta is the poser with that beeping horn and his “urban hooligan” crap. Just trying to make content, but the substance has long ago fallen off. I stop back every now and then and it’s only gotten worse, just crap content.
I have a 2004 GS500F and have for years. I would like to upgrade to a Yahama XSR900 or an MT-09. Right now it isn't in the cards. I will wait a little. It is just under 9000 miles. I may set a mileage on the clock till I upgrade. It is a great commuter bike and I have a a set of luggage bags and a tail bag. It is great. One big thing is it is paid OFF and costing me just gas and insurance to ride. That's the blessing. God bless 🙏
That is why I have a Kawasaki Concours 14 and a Harley Road Glide. I mostly leave my CBR954RR in the garage or at the track. But every once in a while I will pull the Fireblade out to clean out the carbon....LOL.
People who ride sport bikes have been giving themselves a bad name for a long time. Now the chickens have come home to roost.
@farmercist Im referring to the ones who run from cops. Now the cops pull us over when we arent even doing anything wrong. And manufacturers are discontinuing some of them because people dont want that problem and as a result are buying fewer sportbikes.

youre right tho after youve had a sport bike long enough you begin to realize whats the point the only way im having fun is speeding and every other time im pissed off because i get stuck behind slow drivers and its uncomfortable and you just end up not even wanting to ride
Yeah, now all of these new streetfighters are nearly just as fast as the superbikes but with a crap load of better bottom end power and nearly just as lightweight but super comfy for all day riding AND CHEAPER INSURANCE RATES.

I agree with Always wearing good gear and protecting yourself. I dont agree with Supersports being no fun on the streets! I own and ride all classes of motorcycles from hypersports like the Kawi H2 to a HD FaTBoY cruiser and love them for what feel they have and choose which type to ride depending on what mood Im in! I ride to work every day I can and it always gets me in a great mood!

The problem is they are so good you get speeding tickets, I ride a Streetglide now which in a million years i never thought i would like, I put lower fairings on, 13 inch Legend shocks. i bomb backroads, travel, its been so much fun.

You're a little right, I love my fz09 in town, but it suck compared to my r1 going through all the canyon and back twist.
I ride a Panigale V4R, it's a spectacular bike...for what it is. But I've been thinking lately that it may be my last superbike (barring a dedicated track bike). The supernakeds are starting to look very good. The Streetfighter V4S, maybe a Tuono, the ZH2 is out there. It's just a more comfortable bike.
The r1 sounds so good though! And with more teeth on the back sprocket, because who really has any business going over 180mph, it could be an okay street bike and track weapon! ? Lol

My brother's old R1 was a pretty uncomfortable to be used as a daily driver.
Honestly, I just like the look of my first gen CBR600RR. My reasoning is too superficial to be used for persuasion. I am looking for a WR250R to commute on though, that bike looks fun as hell.
I have a street, a touring, and a sport bike and I prefer riding my sport bike. It’s got the pickup I want and I can use it for street or track

I got all the bike styles and I love my Z1000 the most.. I've had Zx14, Busa, zxr6, cbr 954, Gxr 600, 750, K1200s, Vulcan 1500, Vstar 650, I've bought and rode them all and all I have to say was, WHY DIDN"T I GET A STREET FIGHTER a long time ago? I just bought this Z1000 and man it tops at about 140 or so but Shit, getting there is more fun.. The torque is just wonderful and the comfort is amazing.. And in the twisties, I"m going much faster in the turns than my other bikes and I ride really hard.. This thing seems like it's going slow but when I look back at the other super sports bikes behind me at the twisties, it's like wow.. They all ask me how fast was I going, and I was like, no faster than usual. But because this Z1000 is so damn agile, I don't have to lean as far and I'm taking the corners way faster than everyone else. They pass me up on the straights but when I corner, it's like, I just blow by them..
Street fighters are much better than you think.. Try one and you'll see.. Not to mention the easy power wheelies.. And turning is easier than most Super Sports..

Damn, that Aprilia was sick. It’s too bad it wasn’t as reliable as you wanted it to be. I personally love my Ducati, but I’ve only ever ridden liter sportsbikes. I’m interested in standards and nakeds now.
Love your channel CC. Truth Is same as always was. Super sports always were and are track bikes and uncomfortable on the street. Your younger self didn’t see it back then because you were younger!! I love all bikes but like to be able to ride for 5-6 hours in an upright position. Being all bent over for hours on streets is ridiculous.

Nakeds are more comfortable and cheaper to insure. There is also the theory that >>Faring = Cop Magnet
I dig the simplicity, ease of maintenance and lighter weight of a naked. And for my money, I need a wind screen, a reasonably upright riding position and an inline 4. So Ninja 1000 or GSXS 1000F. GSXS is a little lighter with a little more power.
Simple reason: When I can have my S1000XR, out 0-60 an S1000RR, still reach over 170mph top speed, and be within a second on the track, all whilst being able to comfortable tour for hours on end, be protected from the wind, it begs the question, why anyone would ever get the RR
I ride my CB500X and really don’t care if people like it or no. I just know that I can go places that many people can’t go.
Just bought a 19 Yamaha Tracer 900. Best decision I have made. Still have my ZX10R but the Tracer is much more enjoyable and versatile. Supersports dont sell that well anymore because both classes have been the same for at least 20 years. Time to move to 1100's and 800's to bring the midrange back and inject some new interest into supersports IMO.
