That's pretty much the truth, and I own one. The problem Harley davidson has is they are stuck with some of their older riders only wanting the old air cooled bikes. Then way over pricing them to attract young new customers.
🤣 True but they are trying to improve and have gotten better over the years but still way too expensive when you can get a better Japanese bike for much less.
If you buy the big engine Harley, you gotta replace half the engine with the Screamin' Eagle parts and get it fully tuned just to equal a stock Japanese Raider. Hahaha

I've seen people stunt 400's, MT-07, Triumph Speed Twin 1200. I've seen people stunt K1600GT. I've seen them stunt Harley Sportsters and Dynas. You can stunt a lot of stuff. It's the rider's talent mostly, plus some general mods to make stuff handle and work.
My brother, harley rider, wore no gear, saw a pic of the Aprilia RS 457 i have on order. Says " thats a girls bike". Mind you hecstill says this after he crashed his harley and now cruises around in a wheel chair. Thats how deep the mentally it goes.

He's right, sport bikes are boring on the street, you can't lean them over or rip the throttle. Riding around at 20% of the bike's capability, I've been taking mine to the track.
Yep, track is the only way to have proper fun on a supersport/superbike, otherwise what is the point of riding around on the street in a race position to cruise? lol When I had superbikes I realized most of my riding on the street was just cruising so there was no point of riding them, better to get a small torquey bike.

Lots of very solid stuff in the 300, 400, 450 class these days.
The 650-690cc class has great options too.
The emerging class seems to be a 750-800cc, with the Hornet 750 and GSX-8S.
Then of course there's the 850-950cc class that's probably all the power anyone could honestly ever use (MT-09 class of bikes).
The "hyper naked" bikes are a tad ridiculous.
I've tried all the bikes and sold them all even 3 wheelers, dirtbikes are my passion and nothing compares to flying in the air at the track or railing a berm.
Yeah dirt bikes are awesome but can get you hurt off-road, it doesn't take much even with a lot of skills. Supermotos are so fun on the street and I dabble a little off-road to keep it spicey.
@CycleCruza you can get hurt on the street too or even in your sleep I don't live in fear of getting hurt. I practice and build my skills constantly.
@@Half.Throttle.adventures. The only time I got hurt was messing around off-road, broke my collarbone. I just saw Megs Braaps broke her leg on her dirt bike and she is highly skilled and does riding clinics across the nation. Stay safe, being immobilized because of injury sucks. No need to fear riding off-road but I wouldn't push it. James Bubba Stewart can tell you a lot about crashing off-road. lol Dude was crazy fast in supercross/motocross but when he crashed he crashed hard.
@CycleCruza I've shattered my bones broken femur Ribs teeth knocked lose . 41 years old I don't let it stop me i hit the jumps and rail the Ruts still. Even after all that I still do it. That's how fun it is!
Should see the sort of stuff people do on $5000-7000 mountain bikes these days, off-road. Closing in on the shenanigans being done with motocross bikes.
In Europe whenever motogp comes to them there are like 10's of thousands bikers with their bikes, and recently in France 60,000 bikers came out in protest about strict motorcycle technical inspections they dont mess about. But Americans they not really that bothered dont have that same bike love culture that we do. We even do rideouts with 125cc bikes like Honda monkey they r so fun. I ride my 125cc chinese bike through town its made purely for urban riding not so much on the motorway (interstate highway).
I would'nt even ride with someone that refuses to wear a helmet anyway not to mention its illegal too where im from.

Yeah I'm now realizing that supermotos are much more popular in Europe. It's too bad because if more Americans rode then they would realize they are the most fun type of motorcycle you can ride on the street. However, so many people are scared of seat height here. lol
..I had my Ninja 650 since 2018 and about 6 months ago ordered a CBR 650! I jst cruise around on both of them, keep them clean & pretty and enjoy life not worrying about who likes my bikes, cars or shoes😛 ..no, my name is not Cycle Cruza, but they been callin me Pops Racer because of my love of bikes and old cars.. for the longest time!🤠

I got t boned off my Vespa last July, inwent and bought a bicycle beca7se I needed to get back on 2 wheels. The Vespa turned more heads than any other bike I ever saw. Yes I'm a manly kind of guy. It was fn rad tho. My first biker wave was from a bright yellow stretched busa lmao
I need to add a Vespa, those are cool. Before I got into motorcycle I had crappy Chinese scooters but they were fun to ride before they broke down. I bet your Busa has got you some attention from the cops? lol That was another reason I ditched superbikes for the smaller bikes, cops don't bother me now and I can rip on these little bikes and fun to throw around.

Man you got a super bike compared to mine. I have a Honda Monkey as my first motorcycle and having fun!!. Lots of people laugh at me but i could care less what they think about me. You got my dream bike which i will get when i get more experience. Keeping my Monkey thought, never letting her go.😂
I’m currently 42 y/o. My first bike at the age of 24 was a 2006 - R6. My second bike in my late 30s was a 2019 Hyosung GD250R, My 3rd bike was a 2020 Honda Grom. I just picked up a 2018 MT07, and it the best bike I’ve ridden so far! This bike makes me smile every time I pull that throttle 😊. I’ll definitely be keeping this bike for a long time.

They wake up a lot with a good tune. Check out Vcyclenut (flashes), a good exhaust system (M4, Akrapovic, Yoshimura), and Hordpower airbox (worth another 5-6 hp at top revs). Gains 12 horsepower or so, nearly 80 hp at the wheel. You can still pull 50+ mpg which is why it's so flexible.
Also, probably the most reliable engine on the planet.
Look up Pol Tarrés World altitude record, rode the Tenere 700 up a mountain to over 20,000 foot altitude and it was running strong, tore the rear tire to shreds. Had to wear oxygen on his nose to ride it. Japan makes bike engines that laugh at unreliability problems.
The only reason why I don't dip into the varieties of motorsickles is because I'm broke. Luckily, I found a good cheap, used motorsickle that I can enjoy once I'm able to get the motorsickle I want. I also don't care aboot anyone opinion on what I ride. I didn't care when I was having fum Dashing on my little 150cc KYMCO, and I don't care meow when I'm enjoying my 500cc Honda motorsickle me being 380Ib making all my scooter and motorsickles looks small when I'm on it. I just ride and I'm happy. I'm thinking aboot getting me an Mten4 so I can ride around on for fum.
We got us a cool vibe going on in North East Florida. Maybe because there are so few riders? Idk? People who ride here just love motorcycles, and we are always happy to see other riders. The D bags roll in big trucks mostly.

Bought my first ‘small’ bike a few years ago offer years of thinking it had to be 1000cc + or go home. The small bike (690) is the best fun and enjoyable riding I’ve ever had
That's why the best selection of automatic motorcycles are in Europe. Who puts on more miles?
One good thing about big bikes are the spread out gears compared to smaller bikes for example 1000cc 1st gear can be up to 70 mph for example so if you don't like shifting much but don't want a scooter that's one reason to go with bigger bikes. You'll be using 1st gear and 2nd gear mostly in a big city.
My bikes fit my needs, and that's all that matters! BV 400 Scoot and my new Triumph Speed 400. 🤙🤙
I ride a 2018 street glide, and love the channel and the bikes. Most of the guys i ride with dont care and have owned metric bikes or super bikes as well. Myself I started on a Yamaha. I know a HD guy near here, full jacket, T-shirt, belt, boots even HD bandana, not a humble guy as doesn’t even knod to a fellow biker..on riding my MT07, the bike’s engine has enough torque to about 40-60 mph that only super cars and maybe Tesla in ludicrous mode can keep up with it, perfect for city riding even leaving behind traffic at the lights 😂😂

I grew up near Sturgis. My first bike was a Honda rebel 250 I decided to ride it to Sturgis one year and was very concerned that the Harley boys would rag on me.... In my country 400cc bikes are considered "big bikes". An mt-07 is like a litre bike here. 🤣
USA is a giant country with long wide open spaces, long roads. Bigger engines are generally easier to live with here in these conditions.

I like smaller bikes, but the sound and how it feels to ride a bigger engine never gets old. To me is not always about speed, it's about how it sounds and feels. I wouldn't trade my MT10SP for any other smaller motorbike, Harley, or cruiser. By flicking the buttons, I can adjust my bike's suspension to bumpy roads or tight smooth roads, plus I never heard any other motorbike's engine that can sound better than Yamaha's CP4. ps: Aprillia's RSV4/Tuono engine comes close but still not quite as good sounding as CP4, Ducati's engine sound like something is broken in there, I think the sound of a dry clutch does sounds like the motor is damaged lol.

About the Harley Sportster comments. I would love to see a performance bagger line up against the sportster. If you have a SKILLED rider piloting a sportster, they might (the bagger) beat you, but not by much! These new bikes have some nutz. I would have loved to see you line up with a bagger bro and leave him at the starting line. Be you dude. Always. They'll never be another.
I ride a 2023 Yamaha R7. It might not have the highest top speed, but the acceleration is super fun. I usually get a wave back from other bikers, the ones that haven't have 100% been on a Harley. I just say fuck you to them and go about my day.
The R7 is a beautiful looking bike. The MT07 is not. Just saying. 😊

I have a husqvarna 701 enduro, 0-60 in ~3.5 sec. plenty fast and tons of fun. But doesn't matter what you ride as long as your on two wheels.

I'm with ya CC. Variety is great if you can. I wanted a fz-07 when it came out. Sat on one, I thought it was too small for me. But I'm thinking about getting an XR150L. I'm hoping that KTM comes out with a 390 Enduro next year.
I bought a Harley low rider s over a year ago now I put 4500 miles great bike…And last week I came across a 2022 mt07 at my local power sports deal.. it was crate damage but was brand new and for a great price so I could pass it up and I think it’s a great bike!! Definitely has great torque and my Harley has double the torque lol.. I’ve owned many bikes cbr600rr the fastest and wr250x the most fun but the mt07 is like a perfect mix just needs better suspension in my opinion lol

Yeah you are right, that’s real talk right there. One thing i will have to disagree with, i doubt there are many bikes that have more torque than a HD. They have to have massive amounts of TQ to move a motorcycle that weighs as much as a train 🤣.

I love the MT 07 but that E scooter, I have questions about, I do not think that the inventor of the scooter intended for it to move that fast.
I will say in fairness to many…if not most riders…including me depending on what’s going on in my life and what my health is doing at the moment etc…you ride 100x more often/more hours per year than most. A lot of those garage Harley/sport bike dudes aren’t the jerks with egos they’re just riding as a occasional therapy thing wherever it’s a nice day with perfect temperatures etc…it’s like a gift they give themselves and they feel like they passed up the time they can really justify a different bike and will keep their Harley or whatever it is for life just because they’re not really riders anymore so to speak…they’re 99% retired and keep it around for when the oppurtunity arises or the kids aren’t home or whatever it may be.
They just don’t talk trash online as much as the a holes that may or may not ride that often either, and some not at all 😂

That's always surprised me living stateside. Other riders talking trash because you're not on a Harley or supersport. Especially with the douchebag Harley riders here. I've rode back home in Australia and in several countries in Europe and not once did I hear a Harley rider say "Get a REAL bike" there. It's to a point that I'll never buy a Harley or even accept one given to me for free. In nearly 15 years of riding I've only ever encountered about a dozen nice Harley riders who actually said they liked any bike besides a Harley. Honestly I don't get why it's such an American thing to bag on someone else's bike. While everywhere else it's Us vs Cagers.

@@CycleCruza The biggest riding clubs, groups, cults, clans in the USA are the cruiser crowds, and a common brand is found among them. Outside those clubs, things are more diverse but not nearly as enthusiastic or common. Wish it wasn't this way. Wish there were meetups, clubs, groups, and other non-cruiser non-superbike motorcycle activities in more areas for people to associate with and get cultured.

Outside a Vtwin engine, so many baby boomers have little experience... unless the last thing they can recall is some 70's air cooled enduro they ripped around as a kid.
Yamaha makes singles, parallel twins (in two configurations), Vtwins, triples, V4, and inline 4. They've also made engines for Ford, Lexus, Toyota. They know what they are doing. I recall Harley Davidson employing the help of Porsche engineers to make an engine.

I commented something on yammy's videos yesterday yeah definitely small bikes are more fun. Never had a Big bike, but much more fun to ring a bike out feel like s racer than not use mostbof a large bikes power. They are out here making fun of small bikes mostly scooters. Meanwhile they are not shifting because dont need to, bike has all the gizmos for traction and quickshifts if do. Handling is much better. Stop kidding yourselves thinking your a bigger man. I had a riot on my 50cc scooter just the same as my 250cc scooter and 500cc bike now. But im also arrogant and hairy as an ape.

I feel Harley has done more harm than good to the sport of motorcycling. Harley riders started shaming owners of small bikes and other brand bikes. Everyone can't start off riding a big Harley. You have to buy a bike that fits you and the kind of riding you want to do also what you can afford.

I will probably do that one day as I work my way through various bikes. I have yet to own a Harley but nearly bought a vrod once but ended up getting a sicker deal on a Ducati XDiavel S which was awesome, sorry I sold that bike.
Sportster: take a lightweight, torquey, great handling, fast Japanese twin cylinder bike..... add a lot of weight, significantly reduce power, reduce leaning clearance, make handling very heavy, install terrible brakes, install heavy wheels. There's your Sportster.
Just go with a Yamaha Bolt 950 instead.
