    Hello there!
Yamaha's YZF-R6 has set the benchmark for the 600cc supersport motorcycles class. It was first released in 1999, but last year 2021 it is no longer available as a road bike, and also the sales of 600cc road motorcycles have been declining in recent years, but why? Let's find out in today’s video!

600 will never die they just need to chill tf out on all these extras that just makes the bike feel like it drives itself. Next thing you know they're putting motogp style ride height adjustments In and wondering why people don't want it. A lot of guys these days are looking for a older style more authentic ride, and the rest are just highway junkies.

As time went on I decided I wasn’t riding as much but still wanted a bike around so I picked up a 2023 gsx r600 and I have to say it has been amazing! Handling is great bike feels and rides amazing. It doesn’t have the power but I can push the bike a lot more vs having a 1000 you find yourself trying to tame and control the bikes power the whole time. I can ride either bike not going to pick one over the other but the 600 is plenty bike and I’ve been riding 10 years do with that what you will. Just know either bike will 1000% out perform you.

I love my Daytona 675r, with respect of the creator of this video, I don’t think that 600cc to 759cc “super sport bikes” is near to dead, for 3 reasons:
    1. There is a MOTO2 “motoGP” races category and also around the world SuperSport category, while those categories exist, the 600 motorcycle will exist.
    2. As a supersport bike owner I can told you that any 250cc 300cc or 400 cc two or four cylinders bike could beat a real “top SuperSport bikes R6r, CBR600rr, ZX6R, Daytona 675, GSXR600” because 600cc sector are much better in anything “more HP and Nw torque engines, better suspension fully adjustable, better brakes system’s, better chasis, better performance, and the market knows that still a lot of supersport bikes lovers and buyers like me and million’s more, not everyone wants a 1.000 cc SBK motorcycles buddy, for many reasons “too expensive, too heavy, too expensive maintenance and petrol eating, and no reason to pay $5k or even more for a bike that is only 40 km\h and 3 seconds faster than your 600c.c.
    3. We cannot say’s that 300cc or 400cc bikes will disappear because we already have 600cc bikes, the motorcycle market is not fo0l that’s why they made a bike for every rider! so, nice vid bro but I’m not agree with you and what you say’s about 600cc dead or end in this video.
    Take care.

So sad to see that the 600cc Inline-4 Supersport bikes are dead. I have always preferred 600cc bikes over Lite-Bikes on the street, in the canyons, and on the racetrack. These 600cc bikes are just so much more fun to ride. As for speed, it is always 95% rider anyways. On the Racetrack, and back in the day, I could beat 99% of Liter-Bike Riders with my 2003 R6. Back then, I even got trophies with my 1999 R6 while racing in the 1000cc class. 2004 was the last year I raced (2003 R6) and the last year I ever owned a Road Motorcycle (but have owned MX bikes since then). Until this year of 2024, the last time I actually rode on legal roads on street registered motorcycle was 2002 (2000 R1). In 2024, when I was shopping for a 600 inline-4 Supersport bike, I considered all the Big 4. Kawi has the best tech, and has the most power, but I just don't like the way it looks. Also, all those fancy doo-dads the ZX6R has is NOT for me. I like my bike old school. The GSXR600 I liked but I did NOT like the single headlight of the gixxer6, I just prefer the looks of dual headlights. I have a fondness for R6s because I raced them for so many years, so I was sad to see that Yamaha no longer made the R6, but at the same time, it would have been a hard decision to pick it over the 600RR. I eventually chose the 600RR because it looks the best, and it's a Honda! Honda CBRs have always been ultra reliable bikes, that are easy to ride fast, that are forgiving of mistakes, and bikes easy to work on. The 600RR is just an all around better bike than all the others, it is more comfortable and makes a great daily driver, and I can even see myself touring on a 600RR because it is so comfortable. For the Track and Canyons, I would rather have an R6, but for an everyday and do it all bike, the 600RR is easily my choice. Maybe a year from now when I am 54, I will get back into racing and pick up a TRACK ONLY R6 if I can find one for a good deal.

Sure the new ones have modes to make it feel more like a 600, but I'm not trying to buy a brand new bike if I can get a used one. in the past where motorcycles did not rely heavily on technology, a 600cc and 1000cc has clear distinct advantages/disadvantages in terms of handling, speed, etc. However, due to technology now, a 1000cc is just advantageous in all aspects. You have the power and speed, technology helps to control the handling etc. Why would people still want a 600cc no matter how much technology is put on a 600cc, there is a still a disadvantage for speed and power against the 1000cc. Riding has evolved over the years with technologies that allows new and old riders to ride the bike to its maximum efficiency. In the past, you really need the experience to ride well. Now? Brakling technique sucks? ABS. Sliding during cornering sucks? Traction control. Not to mention electronic suspension, anti wheelie, launch control etc. Price point, a few grand difference; definitely litre bikes will be the most picked.

Everything your saying is bs 😅 the reason they are stopping production of many types of motorcycles is because they won't pass emissions tests so they don't want to make the model of bike worse which means they have to make new models if I got a new r6 and it's performance was worse than my friends old gen I'd be mad pissed and want my money back so they make new models nothing to do with the market l, that's why the r7 is slower than an r6 and has less hp and torque etc 😅

Have never owned a 600 supersport but my opinion is they are a narrow focus motorcycle, meaning they are a track bike first and foremost which makes them less practical as an everyday street bike. Hence the rising popularity of naked and adventure bikes. Cheers and ride on.👍👍

Cuz sport nakeds perform just as well as a 600cc super sport on the road--- Z900/MT09/GSXS750/Duke890 etc --- Street Triple--- but are good road bikes also and very comfortable ergo's. You lose nothing as far as power and cornering for all practical purposes on the street even shredding in the curves.
So why would buy a 600? Now a liter bike.... that's a different story, as that's a monster you can't get with an ordinary bike lol

An R6 tho can be matched by a KTM 890 duke R basically and the Duke is more practical.

90k car is now about 12-14k 17 or so years later, which is a little cheaper than a 2016 R1 in my country, comes with more driver aids and it's comfortable while you rag it, unlike modern sports bikes which just have traction control and anti wheelie.. like that must add so much cost to things...
You gotta ask why a 1999-04 R1 costs 5 grand still when they were 8-9 thousand brand new.. if it was equally comparable to the AMG it should have lost a good 85% of its MSRP, depreciation just stopped being a thing on bikes.
Look at my situation, I have 5 thousand saved for a bike, now I could buy a 19 year old POS thats in a relatively nice condition or wait another year and maybe get a big bang, or wait another year and i could get a 2015, but then once i got 10 grand to spend i think im gonna look at a nice car. Maybe a 2009 Nissan 370z or a 2006 AMG Mercedes, no way im paying 5 thousand for something that cost 9 nearly 20 years ago

New bikes 600cc and below have had the soul taken away. They are dull now, very little character. Inline 4 cylinder bikes with 4 carburettors and gear driven cams etc were so much more inspiring. Even the 600's of the 2000's were insanely fast on twisty roads. I think it comes down to if you can properly use what you ride. Unless you're doing track days you can use these bikes properly on the road due to eventual consequences (police, crashing).
