LMAO facts
hahaha true
Well this game is incredibly grey and so are the German uniforms
Has this been patched yet??
Series S also has insane blur, no point in playing HLL on it.
To be honest, when I play this game I get so immersed that I don't even get frustrated.
Same, deaths aren't that big of a deal either, you just get back to the point you're defending/taking and continue doing so.
absolutely 100%. it's so realistic feeling at times and when I die it completely makes sense....probably shouldn't run out into the open field hahhahaha.
Been having a blast getting one shot over and over again. At least now I’ll hopefully see who I’m getting killed by.
@Bodie Kendalllet us know if it works
@@gmoney7261 do you really believe these bots
" 90% of the time you'll die again".
My brain: so you're telling me there's a chance.
the glass is half full ;)
If all else fails just run head first into the woods.
The revenge run back to the spot where I died only to die again real hits too close to home.
Yes definitely a mindset from CoD I need to get rid of. I tried HLL and I did exactly what was mentioned...got frustrated because of dying as I had no idea what I was doing. Played for 30min after just buying it and refunded. I wanna give it any chance though
@@amb4901 You're wasting your timme buddy. Terrible game. Shooting against trees and bushes. Basically ghosts.
@@positiveenergy5819 Change your name you are not giving positive energy
@@positiveenergy5819 This is realistic. Fighting jumping crouching running jumping spinning anime girls and pro super uber commandos with sniper assault machine gun rifles became boring as fuck. I hate games telling me where to go, what to do, where to point my gun, how to shit. Markers everywhere, tips everywhere, games for retards are no go.
@@positiveenergy5819 why are you even here then?
As someone new to the game i think most of the frustration of dying out of nowhere comes from the waiting to respawn. If you're doing poorly you can easily spend more time in menus waiting for a timer to tick down than actually playing the game. In something like cod you get straight back into the action, in HLL you have all that downtime to stew about how shitty that particular death was.
For me it is an opportunity to study the map and look at the team and see what they are doing and where they are dying. What markers are down etc. A huge amount to do.
Most probably one reason why I'll start training to play as an officer/spotter. Usually I'm better at keeping an eye on the battlefield as a sniper than running around on the frontline, but as you can only have two snipers being a good officer or spotter would be more satisfying and the chance of finding a buddy to play recon more often and then switch roles now and then gets easyer.
If you are waiting more than 20s between spawns then your squad leader sucks, the others do too and the commander does so as well, probably.
90% of the problems people have in the game come from not having enough spawn points (garrisons or outposts).
Dying too often? Probably because you don't know where the enemy is. Garrisons and outposts act as radars, eliminating that problem.
Too much time to respawn? Having more garrisons means you can select one with a more favorable timer.
I had the same problem, once you start to learn how and when to move. Everything in this video is quality info. I watched some of his velideos and I swear the last match I got more than 15 kills close up after reevaluating my movement.
@@monoespacial I disagree, I've never had a bad time because of a lack of spawn points. The biggest problem is that they are almost never placed in a good position for the team, they just get dropped at the first opportunity. So many times I've seen the whole team drop spawn points in a nice straight line from main to the first cap, so that you get the extra fun experience of spawning and dying instantly because you're in perfect line of sight of the enemy. For whatever reason the only squads that seem to have any idea how to flank are the snipers, but then they just wonder aimlessly around the back half of the map for the entire game and then can't figure out why the team lost
I remember my first 50+ kill game, had an amazing squad and officer. We just completely decimated the enemy team with our flanks on Hurtgen and I played with those guys for another 3 hours afterwards. It was a rare experience and reminded me why I love this game so much.
Kappa
Yes, having a tight squad not scattered across the map is absolutely key
wao most i killed was 17
those kind of nights are why gaming in general is amazing
The most I’ve killed is 1 lol
2 kills and 50 deaths on my first play and... I loved it
I know I’m way late but I just had the same experience… getting kills is so much more satisfying in this game than in others
Bro i had 1 kill and 67 deaths on my first playthrough
Lesson learnt: I am expendable.

Just wanted to add sometimes you legitimately can't see your enemy. Last night I was playing as MG and my squad leader found a second story house overlooking a large open field. Enemy troops were spawning in a wooded clump across the field and running to our right so we were on their flank. I couldn't see them they were so far away. SL was spotting them with his binoculars and pinging their location for me. Initially he had to tell me if I was too high or too low but once I got on target and realized were my gun sight needed to be in relation to his ping we started to decimate them. Had never thought of this tactic until last night but was highly effective.
Machine gunners do this in real life. Sometimes its hard to see where you are shooting even if the target is close.
That's why having a spotter helps for an MG. The absolute worse thing is being an MG and not having squad mates relat where enemies are. Also it helps to have a spotter to cover your flanks.
Spotter for an MG. GENIUS!
Yeah when I am 'officer' aka squad leader, once everything is in place I try to find a nice place to look out from, equip my binos, and I start telling my squad where the enemy is.
when the SL isn't giving us enemy location or where to go I get very frustrated, this is why I would rather play it myself.
Are all your videos this deep? The entire part about how to respond to ambush being almost text book from Army FMs was mind blowing.
Hey! Most are about as in-detail as this, or at least some of them!
Probably one of the most common statements you'll hear new players say. Great vid!

@@Blei1986 same dude
All jokes aside, me personally it has to do with screen brightness, the lighting in your room, and how clear the picture is on your monitor.
rainy day or winter sunfall I will drop the brightness, maps like forest and farmland I will do the opposite. But the lighting in my room never occurs me, should try next time.
I have like 2 second delay and 30 fps.
No man. The developers of Hell Let Loose created a non realistic game. In real life you would be able to see the enemies from a distance. It's a retarded game and a waste of money.
@@positiveenergy5819 LMAO dude I'm just seeing your salty replies on everyones comment and it's pretty funny
@@millerturq4418 He does have a point , I'm an ex Soldier and I can assure you that you can see enemies far more easily in RL than you can in HLL .
Always look both ways before you cross a wide open area. Keep your gun aimed down sights when turning corners. Know where your blind spots are. Things I've learned after 100hrs in HLL
How to see the enemy... Neck extension my dude all good HLL players have one i just got mine after playing 6 hours on Hurtgen Forest
A handy tip to having an easier time spotting enemies (While also lowering the chance of being spotted yourself) is standing still regularly. Moving enemy targets become exceedingly more difficult to spot if *you* are both moving simultaneously, as now multiple things on your screen are also in motion, making it more of a hassle for your brain to distinguish enemies from other objects.
I speak for the trees, and the trees are speaking german.
Point to add: the best way to see people in my experiece is to be patient and build up situational awareness.
1) Advance a bit
2) Find a bit of cover to hid behind
3) Wait. While waiting, peek a *small* angle out from cover to one side.
4) Wait a little longer, then peak a deeper angle
5) Repeat 3&4 until you're able to see the forward direction again.
6) Go back to step three and repeat the peak on the other side of the cover.
You'll now have gained confidence in the area ahead of you. If there is enemy ahead of you, you'll see them running between gaps or twitching from their own cover.
If your area ahead is clear, go back to step one. Repeat. Win. :D
This aproach doesn't take ages, maybe about 20-30 seconds to build up the awareness ahead of you before you push on. You obviously don't need to use it in areas you know are 'safe' - but it is effective if you are *not sure what's out there...* and want to advance without dying.
Jetzt bitte einmal auf Deutsch?😂😂😂😅😅😅
But why is that some people have literally no problem seeing me from 100+ meters even if I am lying on the ground, motionless in the bush? Happens too frequently to be the sole work of sniper.
@@franklinAll8735 could be spotted by squad leader through his binoculars and him giving your location to the rest of his squad mates
@@franklinAll8735 or they have ESP and/or Aimbot. And yes, its on consoles.
That was a super important point you made about K/D not necessarily reflecting your importance in the round.
I learned this to be true today, my first time playing.
I was commended twice by the end of a round on Hill 400 despite losing, and despite me doing almost nothing offensively (I didn't push into objectives, nor did I kill many enemies). Most of the time I ran around reviving people and bandaging them up whenever I felt it was safe (sometimes just to get shot again and die). Ranked up like 3 levels at once, earned the most class-based xp I'd earned in a single match (enough to rank up and a half, compared to a couple hundred class xp for rifleman and assault).
My one problem with the game is that, while it is historical that the US had so many, I find the prevalence of auto- and semi-auto weapons on the US side to be a bit of an advantage right from the start. But then, I've only just started playing, so I could just not know how everything works yet.
@@Lt_Voss I mean I was on German side one round killed a whole squad with the mg34 whilst hiding in the brush.

Thanks so much for the video. Lately I've been on the verge of quitting this game because dying randomly is so frustrating, but good content creators like yourself keep me wanting to play more and improve.
There are a few games I have raged at, but literally never at hll. Every time I die I just sort of laugh cause I’m so immersed and it feels very natural
Moral of the story - Do NOT try and get revenge! Or if you do spawn at a different point and come back from a different angle.
It doesn't matter anymore, so many players are using some form of software to "assist" their gameplay, and nothing is being done about it
The example: 'it is extremely easy to see someone running through the forest', made me think I had surely seen this before somewhere?
Monty Python- How Not to be Seen
Don't stand up
I once got a really good officer that only by telling us what to do the whole game, I didn't realize we were dying a lot, we tried a lot to flank the enemy, at the end we win. We didn't score too much but the officer told us we did a good job by at least distracting the enemy to deploy forces behind their lines
While all of this is definitely true...I just recently upgraded from a 1080p 24 inch monitor to a 31.5 inch 2560 x 1440 and it has made a world of difference in my ability to spot enemies. I can now easily see targets at extreme range and am able to accurately track them and get kills. I simply notice soooooo much more when I'm running around now. For those of you that are really serious about this game having a large 2k or higher monitor makes a big difference.

This isn't really a video on how to spot the enemy rather a standard tactics video. If its a bright green map like St. Marie Germans are the dark grey dudes running around and the Green uniform are the americans lol. Pretty standard for every map.
Best piece advice I ever saw was from Alpine Sniper who said "When moving always imagine the enemy is watching you so move from cover to cover. Dont run everywhere take your time."
Unfortunately 90% of players never flank, they get tunnel vision and keep going head on. I see this in soo many other games of this type.
Yup too many people play battlefield and can't change their mentality. Has to be combined arms. Use smokes, flank the enemy, have machine guns suppress the enemy to allow you go engage them. Also if you see a friendly tank give it support. Far too often I die because friendly infantry domt support the armour
Damn I wish this was around when I started. Though learning it all the hard way was part of the fun. Gonna send this to all my chooms that had trouble with the game. Great video as always mono!
This can be considered a HLL review and how to see enemy video in one! I figured out if this game is something for me just by watching your video. It sums up pretty much the most important stuff.
Best tip: Squad Leader use binoculars and ping enemy position. MG and rest of squad empty your magazines and belt on that ping. Squad Leader direct fire 🔥. Very effective. Only Squad Leader need to see enemy. Players usually fire to little. If in doubt; fire in the general direction of the enemy.
Fuck yes
Really nice clear vid - Thanks!
what i do is aim in at a spot that covers the whole area im trying to look at, and use peripheral vision to spot movement. ANY movement. standing still when spotting is definitely a must. flanking on forest maps is a must.
Was very impressed by this video. I like how you acknowledge that individual kills aren't what really matters in the grand scheme of things.
It's all about reading the battlefield, and then its all about being easily spotted while moving, and stopping to see easily spotted people moving.
There are so many classes and they are amazingly different. I love it.
I know i am late to the party but i got this video recommend yesterday and got intrigued because i just started playing HLL... today i hopped onto a game and tried to implement some stuff of here and it was the first time i got more than 20kills and had a very positive kd ratio actually, while still feeling usefull to the squad for the first time haha
thanks a lot 🥳 keep it up
Top notch video. Really good information.
In rising storm 2 you can see the enemy's muzzle flash when they fire. That helps identify where the enemy is. I don't see that in hell let loose.
Yeah. I kind of like how it is really hard to spot enemies, it makes getting shot at really frantic
The muzzle flash exists, it's just much harder to spot. Pretty much need binos to see it.
very nicely explained ... I'm level 60 and I'm still struggling with predicting enemy positions
Don’t worry it will get easier, try to learn something from every kill and death you experience, learning the maps helps too, once you’ve played long enough it’s really easy to predict enemy movement and OP and garrison placement!
Sometimes I'll hop on artillery without any real guidance from the frontlines but you can tell quite a bit from where friendlies are facing on the map and what kind of cover the map shows in that area. Sound is also a big component. Footsteps, gunshots, tank rounds, engines, etc.
just started playing HLL. great vid. great info. ty
Perfect video! Thanks.
What I've learned after 20 hours of hll is "Patience. Patience. Patience."
this is one of the few games i enjoy the more i play it and understand it
Just started but I'm really liking it. Hard to take getting killed personally, so revenge isnt even on my mind. Play the roles and you will get more opportunities for more kills because you are attacking as a team.
I just bought these game... THX for this vid, it really helped me! :D
Thank you for all your guide videos. It helps me a lot and i getting out the best experience for the free weekend for this game on steam. I bought it
Glad to hear it!
I'll be honest, I just started playing a couple days ago and I usually don't even know which general direction the enemy is in lol. I've found myself firing at something that looked suspicious in the distance, just for my whole squad to run up behind and start heavily suppressing an area... That's completely in the opposite direction.
Great tips!
The ending was really supportive thank you
1 thing that helped me BIG time is switching the anti aliasing from "Standard TAA" to "Clarity TAA" and motion blur off. This makes colors pop more and removes the muddy look making it much easier to distinguish the enemy uniform from the bush while also keeping the immersion.
Nice I'm trying that thanks! I love finding useful info that I wasn't looking for

This is a Good video.
Lots of players that have mostly only been fed concepts of Call of Duty do not understand a game like this, and get extremely frustrated quickly.
This is not a run and gun - rambo type shooter. If you want to win. If you want to have a good game.
-You need to be patient.
*You need to read, and assess enemy activities.*
-You need to build a strategy, and readjust that strategy as often as needed. (Alot). But. Stick to your overall strategy if it's good.
*You need to make long term goals/strategies, and have short term goals/strategies.*
-You need to critically think about the situations you are presented with.
*You need to work as a team, and for the team.*
-You need to understand the purpose of killing, and dieing.
This game is fun. Once you understand the game, and start playing it the way it was intended for you to play. You'll realize that at times dieing is not a problem if you are dieing in a smart way. If you are playing smart you will not be frustrated. Even when dieing alot.
-Play -*-Be smart.-*- and Enjoy-
Thank you! I bought this game over a year ago, played about 45 minutes and was so confused that I haven't played since. Your video here has breathed some new life into me. I won't get frustrated because I'm just dying over and over, I'll consider the greater goal. And maybe get some better headphones.
Edit: I've been reading the comments, thanks everybody, these are gold!
Make sure you check out the beginner's guide! ua-cam.com/video/LaY27yiOPPA/v-deo.html
This was 11:25 of saying "dying is normal in HLL", "use cover" and "flanking is important, even if it may take a while" which is 100% true, but ~nothing~ about seeing the enemy, defeating the point of this video.
I'm not a professional UA-camr but movement feels like a lot of it to me. Stop and observe from a good spot for a lil bit if you suspect there might be enemies there. Even small movements will stick out to you. The smoke from gunshots will also give people away. I know this also isn't seeing but he didn't mention sound which can help you find people a lot. Hear a rifle shot just west of you and you know there are no friendlies over there? Approach slowly from cover and keep an ear out for more shots or enemies stompin around with their big American feet.
Good Work. Thanks a Lot 👍
ive used the smoke as a distraction tool sometimes and it works but not always
I recently got this game without trying a demo on the series x I read you die a lot and it’s not like COD or Battlefield I was hesitant to play it but after your video I’m not so hesitant.
Thank you for explaining what flank really means in this game!
Thanks man, you are quiet generous. I'm learning a lot from you. I come from Rising Storm Vietnam and this is a completely deeper game concept... it's a war simulator.

Thank you for watching. I had some content plans that got derailed so I might do something like that!
Gracias por tu trabajo :)
Nice wot music in the background lol. I like the loading songs they have
I've played a lot, and found taking your time and observing a group of people is a good thing. I'll not engage them if they don't know I'm there until I'm ready. I'll follow the stream of guys back to their spawn, then I'll attack. I quiet often take out whole squads and then destroy garrisons, ops. They amount of kills/deaths do not matter as mentioned in this video. But choosing your battles, and planning will naturally put you in a positive kill/death ratio. Most people that become fodder don't plan their attacks and just run in and react to what they find. I call these types of players zombies. blue berries that will run the same line the entire map wondering why they're always dying, and expecting something else the next time they do the same thing....
Subbed. Good video!
Much appreciated!
This video can also be applied to Rising Storm Vietnam

You might of missed the topic of suppression, German mg suppress well and steilhand grenades throw farther making a good supress and grenade frontal approach you don’t always have to resort to flanking, you can rely on pure fire power to overwhelm enemy. Then grenade them what I’m trying to say is teamwork makes the dream work.
Yeah I always scream GRENADES OUT on local chat as people forget they have them even though it's the riflemans main weapon for pushing enemies out of their defensive positions.
Loved the BF1 music in the end. Best OST ever.
Great video. Really few people take into account how long 1 hour and a half is, go flank that point son, a 10 min walk can mean everything
This game is absolutely amazing. Realistic and immersive.

It's as real as it gets it looks like. Epic!!
When playing on low resolution screens or if you have bad eye sight, spotting the enemy sometimes proves difficult. you may have to sit very close to the screen to see detains.
I have noticed some gamers it's easier to see them but others are extremely hard to spot an keep on target.
if your computer is slower, others players may move erratically an even (dis)appear due to faster frame rates.
Great video
this helped a shit ton thanks
Verry interesting thank you.
Dying not only feels like part of the game but also the atmosphere to kind of give off the immersion of how deadly ww2 really was. If I was 19 thrown into that shit I'd prolly die fast too
Glad this came to ps plus be interesting to see later tonight
I try to think in the vein of 'if i was on the enemy team how would I get from point a to point b' to get an idea for the lanes that people would be likely to be moving down/looking at
If playing on console specifically Xbox and maybe Pc (not a pc gamer sadly) you have a magnifier setting that allows you to zoom in essentially giving you a sniper and giving you better visuals on the enemy
Smoke is also a good distraction, smoke one side of the point and duck in the other side of the point

Its awesome but it sure its different than other shooters i mostly played btf/cod/ect. for the last few years.
And it takes time to switch from fast past shooting and quick respawn. To a much slower kind of game play with way more teamwork.
But when you have a good squad the game is a lot of fun
(If anny dutch people wanna play with me hit me up im not that good tho)
"How to SEE the Enemy" - by looking at them , ovcourse,
or just be me, spraying with a LMG and yelling like a madwoman catching attention, then go prone and cover immediately, get pot shots taken at me as bait, so squad mates can see shots being fired at the bait, and take them out. #howwereallywonthewar
I would greatly enjoy an entire diary of your soldier's life in WWII.
I giggled too much at this
lol
I played a great game where I was literally spamming my LMG into the smoke and getting kills. My squad lead would smoke the enemy position and I'd hang back and suppress them while the squad literally prone-crawled their way to the position. Great way to keep the enemy pinned down and unable to retaliate while your squad advances.
Good tips
My last round with the MG was 64 kills and 9 deaths. Pretty damn good for a newbie.
