- I used Topaz Video AI to majorly improve this broadcast. To see just how much, you can view a gallery of before/after screenshots here -- imgbox.com/g/J... -- the picture had a very harsh and contrasty look to it. I've upscaled the picture to 1080p and doubled the framerate to 59.94fps. I also used Da Vinci Resolve to remove a very bad greenish tint that was present and have gotten the color looking normal again.
Unfortunately the recording is not complete and cuts out about a third of the way through the 4th quarter. I've added NFL Films recaps at the end to provide closure.

I appreciate your work again. You do great on restoring these old telecasts.
Nice job Dave👍
Looks great, even the audio is very good. Nice work Sir!
Very high-quality work here. It's appreciated.
I mean it I truly believe that you should be deported and thrown out the league and deported out of the country if you go around saying you hate this country that should be a new constitutional amendment if you hate this place then get the hell out the way these players are now it's ruined my love of sports and I'm a sports junkie but when I watch these old games just makes me realize how great this game once was it was a true gladiator game nobody was talking about race back then in this game these players were black and white which is what America has been 99% of its history only recently of all these third world people come here
Your restorations make me want to go back in a Time Machine and relive those wonderful cowboy years. You bring the past to life! Thank you!
Hard to imagine that those sideline Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders could be grandmothers nowadays.
Great game Dave ..The 1975 Dallas team called the Dirty dozen ,,played 11 rookies and played the steelers right to the end in the Superbowl of 1976..Give credit to Tom Landry ..one of the best all time coaches and a great gentleman off the field
Dave thank you for this-I was 9yrs old in 1975 the year I became a Cowboys fan and though the last 27yrs have been disappointing alit good memories as well the 1970's imo we're the NFL's best decade when Dallas really was America's team.
I'm the same age, but became a fan in 1973 when we moved back to the states after my dad's tour in Europe was done. I actually had Dallas Cowboys pajamas as young as 4 that my uncle mailed to us while in Germany. Couldn't see the games over there. Not sure if they weren't broadcast or because my dad has never liked NFL football.
PERFECT upgrade to this gem that surfaced a bout a year and a half ago...This was essentially a "Pre- Playoff" Playoff winner take all game. Fantastic to add the recap highlights...those fun plays at the end are essential!
Games between the Redskins and Cowboys were always very intense. Those teams did not like each other. I miss teams primarily running the ball, less than 80 pass attempts between both QB's and the hard hits that now are penalties. R.I.P. Golden Richards. Dave, thanks for the upload of this game.
My grandmother was a Redskins fan while my uncle, myself and older sister were Cowboy fans. It was great watching these games on television with them in the 70s and beyond.
Dave once again you have outdone yourself! Thanks for this gem!!
Terrific restoration, and I really like the addition of the NFLF highlights--rounds off the presentation very satisfyingly. That was a brutal game, one of the hardest-hitting in the Cowboys-Redskins rivalry. I hope that missing 4th quarter eventually surfaces, because it has one of my all-time favorite plays: Charlie Waters' pick-six that slammed the door on the Redskins' playoff hopes.
Driving in my car in 2023 listening to the audio play-by-play from a television broadcast of a football game from 1975!
Superlative work, Dave. You outdid yourself with this one. As a longtime Cowboys fan, I can say this is one of my all-time favorite Cowboys wins. You made quite a save with the 'lost' 4th qtr. footage, not only giving us the NFL Films wrap (featuring one of the magnificent duo who broadcasted so many Cowboys games), but ending it with John Facenda & the classic NFL Films music.
Crazy good quality. Thanks!!! Your recent uploads have inspired me to check out more Skins 70s games
Dave dont know what I would do without you another gem!!!
Nice work Dave! As always man...thanks.
This game was played on Sat. (December 13, 1975). Following Sat., December 20, 1975 CBS-TV Network aired Vikings at Bills, reg. season finale for both teams w/Vikes coming out victorious, 35-13/advancing to div. playoffs where they'd suffer heart-breaking 17-14 home defeat to eventual N.F.C. champions, Cowboys
Visiting Vikings led host Bills, 21-7 at halftime in 1975-1976 reg. season finale for both teams. Vikes went on to win that game, 35-13 as star RB Chuck Foreman had quartet, TDs on contest. Vikes closed out reg. season play w/12-2-0 record, but wknd. later suffered devastating 17-14 home defeat to Wild Card entry Cowboys 🤠 in N.F.C. Div. Playoffs. Cowboys themselves would eventually reach Super Bowl, X where they'd bow to Steelers, 21-17
Thank you so much for these wonderful, enhanced games from yesteryear ❤
This Brillant. Much better picture when I watched in 1975. Thank you!
The players and the audience singing the National Anthem, it was a different world back then. The times were a lot better.
Not to mention it made the broadcast. That only happens at the Superbowl now; haven't seen it in decades for the regular season.
The guy playing the trumpet is tommy loy he played the national anthem at cowboy games for 22 years he was featured before the cowboys Superbowl loss to the colts he passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2002
Much better times absolutely❤ and I was just four years old my childhood, but will never forget it
Them was the days when you could introduce the old lady to the back of your hand if she started flapping her yap. I could get a Hershey for a nickel. These was the times when us fellas had it made.
I know it I can't stand modern football and I'm a die-hard sports fan but I just can't stand it I'm a lifelong cowboys fan but this disrespect for our great country black or white should not be doing that I'm so sick of hearing about slavery and black lives matter fuck all that stuff I don't care about any of that that is not now this is still a great country even back then how that has anything to do with modern sports and these guys want to protest and all make 20-30 million dollars a year complaining that they're getting discriminated against it's just disgusting what has become of sports not to mention how soft the players are now by all the rules
Your work is simply amazing!
It's a pity that the satellite feed MNF games with Cosell, Meredith, and Gifford has not surfaced, it would be interesting to hear the banter among those three off-camera during commercial breaks.
I loved watching these Cowboys games live. The original replay video quality was sometimes painful to watch, but your restorations bring back the priceless memories. Your efforts are much appreciated.
Excellent, thank you for putting this together and putting out there.
I like that old dude in the begining waving at us through the mists of time during the Star Spangled Banner.
And I might add how refreshing it was to see people respecting the song
Great video job Dave, you even gave us the game without commercials! We were there that day!
You are on fire Dave!! Thanks for this!!
Wonderful quality.....
I enjoyed watching this game. The quality is amazing. Thank you for posting.
Great game love the uniforms especially the Skins
I'm late on seeing this one, but great work. You've got a new sub.
First time I haven't seen a Cowboy logo on the 50 in Dallas
Great stuff again Dave, Thanks!!
WOW, This is great. Didn't Dallas go to the Super Bowl that year 1975, but lost to Pittsbugh Steelers 21-17. Doomsday Defense!!!
Cowboys became lst Wild Card entry team to play in Super Bowl that 1975-1976 season
1974 was the only year in the 70s the Cowboys failed to make the postseason.
I had a 12 foot solid dish in the late 80's and got a lot of live feed games like this.... great stuff here sir... almost makes me not want to watch any football now... the game has become somewhat of a joke.
Remember when we all used to SING the National Anthem at games? 4:36
I noticed that when I first got the copy of the game....Loud and Proud.
4:36-5:46. "Star-Spangled Banner", U.S.'s 🇺🇸 National Anthem's played by trumpeter Tommy Loy
1:07 This was the first year of the iconic CBS mic flags seen here. They were in use until 2018.
Great memories from the golden age of pro football!!
Awesome !!! Thank you 💪🏽💪🏽
Back in the day, these games were quite intense... indeed, these two teams really didn't like each one bit! Unfortunately, that true rivalry is gone now.
Howard Cosell quoted once ((he attributed the quote but I forget) no one wins a football game, someone looses it " this game is evidence, still so few of the Over the Hill Gang games survive it's beautiful to see, Larry Brown showing flashes Bill Kilmer icing his hand between series and playing with a bad shoulder still making accurate throws wobbly but accurate) Tank McLinton and all the rest of my childhood heroes thanks for finding this one
Man, in the first half, Roger was putting up Ben DiNucci numbers!
Allen's Over The Hill Gang...fantastic
Frank Grant imo is one of the greatest Redskins ever.
As a kid, I remembered that "Hi Linda" sign being on the wall all the time. lol (time 15:12)
In December, 1975 late Tommy Brookshier/late George ("Pat") Summerall called 1975 College Football season's Vth Fiesta Bowl classic bet. Ariz. State/Univ., Neb. for CBS-TV Network. AZ-State won that game, 17-14 to cap off complete perfect 1975 season by going 12-0-0, but they didn't even get share, National Championship that season as Univ., Okla. was unanimous national champs
In back-to-back College Football seasons in mid-1970s, Univ., Neb. played in post-season bowl games 🏈 which were played on Fri. In 1975 season Univ., Neb. faced off against Ariz. State in Vth Fiesta Bowl classic which was played on December 26, 1975 (Fri.), then season later (1976) they played in XVIIIth Astro-Bluebonnet Bowl classic against Tex. Tech on Dec. 31, 1976 (Fri.-New Yr.'s Eve)
Now I.Y.O., why was #13 nationally-ranked Univ., Neb. designated home squad in 1976 College Football season's XVIIIth Astro-Bluebonnet Bowl classic w/#9 nationally-ranked Tex. Tech being game's designated road squad?
Now in 1975 College Football season, I.Y.O., that season's XVIIth Liberty Bowl classic bet. Univ., So. Calif. and Tex. A./M. could've been pushed ahead 3 days from December 22, 1975 (Mon.) to December 19, 1975 (Fri.) w/ABC-TV Network starting coverage, that game on 12/19/1975 at 8:00 PM (E.T.) and that same season's XVIIth Astro-Bluebonnet Bowl classic bet. Univs., Colo./Tex. could've been pushed ahead 5 days from December 27, 1975 (Sat.) to December 22, 1975 (Mon.) w/ABC starting coverage, that game on 12/22/1975 at 9:00 PM (E.T.)
rip Mike Thomas
The best of times during this rivalry when George Allen was there.
Adam Corolla could totally play George Allen in a bio-pic!
Great moment with Bob Lily in the booth.
I love the old commercials 🏈
Looks Great!
1. Roger Staubach
2. Don Meredith
3. Troy Aikman
4. Danny White
5. Eddie Lebaron
Dangit Dave why did you edit out the 37th running of the Gallant Fox Handicap during halftime? I was really looking forward to that :)
Doh!
I noticed there are no commercials and lot of banter between Summerall and/or Brookshire and the camera crew in place of commercials. Did this game come from a network? So, is the '76 Cowboys-Colts game out there somewhere? How about the full '77 MNF Cowboys-Cardinals game? Those are the 2 games I've been hunting! Thanks.
Yes, this game came from CBS and utilized their best announcers at the time, Pat Summerall and Tom Brookshier.
This was taped off of someone's satellite feed. I had satellite dish which provide the game with no commercials and the announcers bantering. Sattellite feeds were eventually scrambled.
Pat Summerall had the hangover sweats
They ended the "Washington Redskins" Gone Forever! Damn! That's a Crying Shame!😢
It’s a damn shame, what these liberal democratic cancel culture did to this iconic franchise. Hopefully they’ll reinstate the Redskins name!?!
Unpopular opinion....Summerall's best partner in the booth was Tom Brookshier, NOT John Madden.
Geez, this game was a Punt-O-Rama!
1:18:17 what the heck??? Joe Theismann was on the Redskins' punt return team???
Awesome!
Showing the elusive striped football near the end of 1975. It has been suggested that 1975 was the last year it was (randomly?) used.
Do you have the Thanksgiving clint longly game between these two teams? Definitely worth looking for
That broadcast doesn't exist (or at least has never turned up so I seriously doubt it), but I DID do a near-complete film restoration of the game earlier this year -- ua-cam.com/video/TIV7GGSopqw/v-deo.html&pp=ygUcY2xpbnQgbG9uZ2xleSBnYW1lIGJhY2sgZG9vcg%3D%3D
So how does original footage like this become available? This was not recorded off of the television because you heard the announcers talking instead of commercials. Did someone at a station or the network liberate a copy of the old footage?
I'm guessing so.
Wow!!
Unbelievable
Dallas would go on to the Super Bowl while with Kilmer out the next week, the Redskins lost a meaningless season-ending game to Philadelphia 26-3 with Joe Theismann and Randy Johnson combining for 7 Int's.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Every single one of these UA-cam ads is so full of BS and outright lies to scam people. The game is excellent, the ads bite.
I live in DC and I hated the redskins.....and Loved the Cowboys.....back then however jj has ruined Everything
I apologize for the quality of the very last NFL Films segment at 02:18:14 - that is horrible, and I wouldn't have included it had I known it would come out like that. That segment is from the 1975 Cowboy film which is a VHS transfer and not a film print, and it seems that doubling the framerate on that one sent it off into another vortex :)
Best that could be done, (and it is still excellent!) until a radio broadcast is unearthed and supplemented with highlights.
Actually, I don't think it's that bad. It probably comes off worse in comparison to the other footage, but it's nothing to apologize for.
I thought it was pretty good and I am certainly glad that you used it.
Damn! I'm teleported back to 1975 Dave! This is magnificent dear sir! 🤌
Nice these were the times of greatness
Real Football
I think you should be thrown out of the league the first time you don't stand for that national anthem
