Senna's remarkable story, charting his physical and spiritual achievements on the track and off, his quest for perfection, and the mythical status he has since attained, is the subject of SENNA, a documentary feature that spans the racing legend's years as an F1 driver, from his opening season in 1984 to his untimely death a decade later. Far more than a film for F1 fans, SENNA unfolds a remarkable story in a remarkable manner, eschewing many standard documentary techniques in favour of a more cinematic approach that makes full use of astounding footage, much of which is drawn from F1 archives and is previously unseen. - Фільми й анімація
"If senna hadn't died in imola, 1994, we would all be racing for second" - Michael Schumacher
yes, can be.., but "there is a lot to race, a lot to run and a lot to learn" (Senna)
Excz me ..when did schumacher said this..?i cant see anything in google that shumacher said this.. dont just right something for likes...!!🙄😑
@@hamijafar1365 at the end 1994: Williams got the aerodymanic problems under control and Hill closes the gap to Schumacher. I think that was on german tv RTL: "Ayrton wäre mit dem Auto Kreise um uns gefahren, wäre er noch am Leben". Some found this statement disrespectful to Damon Hill.
theres a fine line between getting first and getting killed.
@@hamijafar1365 Just watch Senna Top gear tribute, all the drivers say Senna is #1.
I just realized Senna's voice was something I enjoyed hearing. His tone was pure, he had no conflict, just dedication and truth.
That's true, his "If you no longer go for a gap that exist, you are no longer racing driver" will be in my head forever
lol that's rich when you're talking about the guy whose most famous quote is a blatant and dangerous lie
@@papagynther6905 No, great pilots think like that.. Clark, Villeneuve, Schumacher and even Hamilton (Senna fan) who crash of Verstappen in Silverstone.
Despite all these pilots, the one that reminds Senna the most is Verstappen.
I love his voice too. I just play the beginning of this film over and over again to hear him say '78, I came to Europe.......'
@@leonardod1846 me as well.. verstappen is a such great pillot today!
My friend was in Brazil in 2009/10. He went to the cinema to watch a movie in a very noisy cinema. Then the portuguese trailer of the Senna movie came on screen, he told me that it became so silent you could hear a pin drop. Legend of Brazil ! And the champion of the world forever !

"If you ask me? I put Senna as the number 1" - Michael Schumacher
Senna the best driver
thats just schumacher being humble and acting like senna was the best
nobody can say they think they themselves are the best
@@MrRodzilla But to be fair, Schumacher isn't really humble nor is he optimisstic, he's very realistic when it comes to the sport and that is what he believes
@@MrRodzilla Floyd Mayweather says he is the best boxer, I bet Phelps and Bolt would say they are the best. Pelé says he is the best. C'mon man...
@@henriquerocha6688 are you telling me you dont understand that athletes dont want to say they are the best because they want to appear arrogant? mayweather is different because he is trying to make people hate him and buy ppv fights hoping he gets knocked out, same with muhammed ali, pele is 120-125 years old so he feels forgotten and needs to remind everybody that he is the best
i guarantee schumacher felt he was better than senna as soon as his 10th race in spain 1992, in very wet conditions senna tried all race to catch him but schumacher held him off all race until senna spun with a few laps to go
Here's what's cool about this movie, it doesn't have or need actors, here they are, the characters themselves!
To be fair its not really a movie, its a documentary
Martin Sun yeah but it has a story, emotion and a message, I'd say it's a pretty movie like documentary.
+thaik56 kinda true, but imagine how cool it would be if they made a movie about senna
Martin Sun this is a movie about Senna. I have seen plenty of movie about important people and I feel it doesn't do justice because it's a reconstruction of their life with actors. I always want to see the real thing and this is it.
Absolutely!
I presented this documentary for my college class my professor gave my an A , he said it was magnificent

@Crixus Mauperthuis I'm in Mensa. Do you know what that is mouth breather? Go have a croissant and a crepe and try to get ur hair to curl like ur crooked nosed hero, loser.
The best driver of all time. No argument.
Schumi
Senna always THE BEST!
Crixus Mauperthuis Schumacher was the same as senna I say that because they both did dangerous stuff to there competitors to win Fangio is the best cause he did it when there was no safety so i think Fangio is the best for that reason
Jim Clark was the best, in 72 Grands Prix he had 46 races where mechanical problems either stopped him or slowed him down. Of the remaining 26 races where the car was reliable he finished second once and won the other 25.
I think that Prost, Schumi and Hakkinenen are better.
Pure driving, real racing, that's make me happy.
- SENNA, Ayrton.
Best Motorsport Film ever...
senna the best for ever!
platt schuss yes
platt schuss that rimed
I agree!
For me Senna best documentary of F1 - Rush best cinematic F1 film
@Crixus Mauperthuis fuck off , what's the point in racing then , he understood that and preached about it . That's why he'll be always remembered .
If you no longer take a gap that exists, you're no longer an Indian pedestrian..
Bloody hell that was awesome!
Awesome observation 😂😅😆
I'm from Sao Paulo, Brazil and I understand this quite well.
+Raff Silver You still have memorial services for him? When and what month? When he died and was brought home? That man was buried with military honors.
Big balls. :D
Mansell and Senna going wheel to wheel ... definately gives you goosebumps.. and then a voice comes from background, real driving pure racing that is what makes me happy... it just couldn't have been better
Vatsalya Sharma 10000% agree
Actual insane.
which race?
@@vaisakhps8642 I think it was the Spanish GP back in 91'.
Imo Senna vs Mansell was a much better competition than Senna vs Prost. Why? Because both were fighters and both pushed their cars to the limit. There was much more action on the track between them and they respected each other. They could have had an argument about an incident at on weekend and celebrate while joking around the next weekend.
Just saw the movie, not interested in the sport at all but I cried like a baby at the end. So epic.
RIP Senna
Senna is my role model, maybe I am not to into racing cars, but his personality makes me feel motivated to fulfill my dreams and aim high in expectations. The best, The lengend, the one and only Ayton Senna
He donated at least 440 million dollars to children's charities in Brazil, he could have kept it for himself. He didn't, he was a generous human being. The world lost a wonderful human being that day. May he RIP.
❤
Love the way the director chose to end the trailer with that wheel to wheel moment with Mansell. I think that image defines the era that Ayrton raced in. On the edge at all times, with pure guts and determination to be the best.
I love that part of the trailer
I gasped in amazement at that part or the race. Couldn't believe what I was seeing
Wow this trailer is incredible. I had only recently discovered Ayrton Senna, he seems to have been a fascinating individual.
You don’t even know the half of it. If you want to see senna in his element, look up the 1993 European GP.
@Crixus Mauperthuis Troll.
I watched this 3 days ago on a flight from New york to London. This is a remarkably gripping film. Not even the pilots announcement could break my focus. I couldn't help myself but to cry before the end, embarrassing myself in front of friends who never seen me cry before and all the people around me, but I didn't care. Senna was the greatest, a true hero!
I'm from Egypt..and i still remember the news of Ayrton death in our tv News..i was 9 years old and i saw on tv people in brazillian streets crying..so i asked my grandma what's going on?? she told me the world champ in moto racing from Brazil died in accident while racing..i'm really big fan of Ayrton Senna :( Rest in Peace legend

Crixus Mauperthuis That’s not true. The first television broadcast in Egypt aired in 1960.
I'm from Brazil, Senna was something more here. Not a driver, more like a force of nature. But he was kind crazy on his own. He really belive that god would help him win, thats why he always aim for the victory, cuz god wouldnt let anything bad happen to him. May god take care of him.

Race in Peace Senna it's been more then 20 years after your death yet people like me keep your memory alive and that allows you and your legacy to live. My hero, My inspiration, I will never forget.....
So well put, I feel the same as you and I'm sure many others? I will never forget him, a true LEGEND!
Amen!
I was born 4 years after his death, I feel I’d be more interested in F1 if he were still with us.
Senna is the legend but he was the greatest F1 that we knew
It took Schumacher 7 more years in Formula to get beat Senna's record of most Pole Positions. And with those 7 extra years he only beat his record by 3 poles. Any F1 Driver would be extremely lucky if they were half as good as Senna was.
And now you have Hamilton with 100 poles.
Fuck my life
@@Lteo 100 poles with 23 races a year, the most dominant team ever for the longest period ever, and a teammate who is totally his servant… Couldn’t lace Senna’s boots.
@@maxzorin5433 Alonso wasn’t his servant at mclaren, Rosberg and Bottas were in the same car, had the same amount of Qualy opportunities and weren’t anywhere near consistent enough to challenge him. You think they were out qualified and out pointed each season on purpose? Behave. Has verstappen had servants for teammates too or just teammates who aren’t good enough to get near him? Comparing drivers through eras is almost impossible as the sport changes so much through the decades but if you look at percentages within the stats such as pole positions, fastest lap, podiums, wins etc instead of figures you’ll see Hamilton tops Senna in almost all of them. That’s not to say one is better than the other, but your point is fairly invalid if you look further into it.
@@mmmcfc9332 It's very easy to prove that Hamilton isn't the best. how come the best driver can only win races when he has the best car? Senna won races with inferior cars, led championships with Lotus, an average team. who has always been behind Maclaren and Williams. Imagine Senna in place of Hamilton? in fact, Senna still has some recordes, among them an absolutely impressive one. he is the driver who most often started on the front row in a row. explain to me how a driver, who had little chance of having the best car. can you start more times on the front row than a driver, who almost always had the best car?
@@pulapula9711 well before last season he’d won a race in all previous seasons, are you telling me that mclaren was the fastest car on the grid in all of those seasons? No chance was it. He came into the team as a rookie against an older 2x world champion and very nearly won the title in the first year. But that doesn’t matter because it doesn’t suit your agenda. Modern day F1 is different to Senna’s years, a lot different and changing all the time, I’m not saying Senna isn’t one of the best ever, probably would have been the best ever had he lived longer, but you could say the same for Jim Clarke. Your stat is a man has started on the front row consecutively more times than Hamilton has managed to. You don’t think mechanical failures in practice or qualy, or penalty’s for the numerous parts that need replacing through a year could’ve contributed to that fact? You’re just cherry picking stats to suit your opinion. Most race wins, most poles, most laps led, joint most world titles. Difficult to argue against.
Oh my god...every time when I watch this video i cry...we don't forget you, Ayrton..
I was born the year he died and never had heard of him until this year.
This movie has had a profound impact on me, taking me back through time and telling an incredible story.
Senna was truly remarkable, may God be with him.
👏👍🇧🇷 Go Bless Senna ! God Bless you boy!
So unique and different. We're in year 2017 and there's still no one like Senna. Nor will ever be. Rest, no... Race in peace, Champ. #sennasempre
He was my first love... I will never forget that sunday... 💔 01 de Maio de 1994
My birthday is on May 1. On that fateful day of 1994, I turned 11 years old. After lunch (European time) and a bit of birthday cake with my family, we turned on the TV to watch the Grand Prix. Senna was my idol. I was hoping he'd win that day as a special present... Saddest birthday ever. I cried non-stop for the rest of the day, and through the night. I was devastated. I cried when I saw this trailer for the first time, and every time I see it. I cried when I saw the documentary at the cinema. And I cry every time I see videos of Senna or when I think of him. Ayrton, forever a legend.
Well, it’s a bank holiday (May 1sr) here in Brazil. I was 7 at the time and no one knew how to react that day (and I am not either a F1 or Senna fan 😂, have never been). We had the Wednesday school day off here in Sao Paulo at least so whoever wanted to attend could go to his funeral (spoiler alert: a lot of kids did go 😂)
I’ve seen the trailer a million times and the movie multiple times too, yet every time I watch the trailer or movie I get goosebumps. I can watch the trailer back to back to back and I’d get goosebumps each time.
A great man, a hero, the greatest racing driver of all time. A great film and a great tribute to the legend that is Ayrton Senna.
This documentary made me cry!
Never will we see a more passionate driver.... Pure driving!
I feel humbled to have witnessed such a legend behind the wheels of an F1 during my lifetime.. He will always be the greatest..
... after Prost.
We still miss you senna!!! Hero
He was my childhood hero. I was 9 when he died, as a Brazilian kid I can say that he was the hero of every other kid down here... He was unmatchable.
I'll never forget that sunday morning.
10/10 best document ever !!! HERO ,Great PERSON, THE LEGEND !!!
Magic SENNA was so UNIC and MAGNIFICIENT. Drive in peace wherever you are now. Miss you
He's one lap ahead of us.
How I miss watching Senna and watching F1 racing. After he died watching F1 was over for me.
for me too. :-/
It’s been 12 years and this is still the most spectacular trailer for any film I’ve seen
senna was deadly fast and he has this tremendous talent like no other ... he's always going to be number 1 F1 driver forever .... how these 23 years passed so quick and remembering Senna breaks the heart into pieces and a stream of tears fall uncontrollably...
I'm not a fan of motor sports... but I watched this movie.. the best documentary for a true legend...
so poetic
According to his sister, Ayrton read a verse from the Bible the morning of the day he died that said “God would give him the greatest gift of all gifts, which was God Himself.”
+Roderick Sutherland maybe the gift was eternal peace and respect.
The gift from God to Senna was a key to Paradise
MihqiL Player? I didn't realise the game was out during his time
He knew..
Unfortunately he got a broken steering column and suspension arm through the head.
that shot of him through the side mirror sends chills down my spine.
Such a remarkable film. Even the trailer gives me goosebumps to this day
This is the best documentary I have ever seen. It had me on the edge of my seat.
I miss Senna, he is the best ... I miss ....
@ 2:13 Seeing him lose composure and his character realizing Fangio was greeting him at the podium (Senna’s only driving idol) always gets me. 🥲 You never saw Ayrton act like that for any other driver. You could see him become a child again when he realized who he was, and embraced and kissed him like a fan would. One of my favorite moments in the history of the sport.
Michael, Damon, Jacq, and maybe even Mika all owe part of their success largely to Senna’s passing.
All the recars after him (except the poor Jules Bianchi) owe him their lives and safety because his tragic that changes everything in F1 and made it safer for human life

A trailer that transcends all trailers.
Yesterday I watched a documentary about Senna. Of course I heard about him before, but I didn't know much about him. This documentary showed that he was a inspiring and amazing person, who didn't deserve to die at such a young age. In my opinion F1 was fascinating in the time of Senna. R.I.P.
Phenomenal documentary from someone who knows nothing about F1 as in myself. Saw it first in 2012 or 2013 through on demand from Optimum tv in NYC. Excellent soundtrack.
Awesome movie... It's amazing that it's fully from real footage and so well cut and directed.

One of the greatest race car drivers ever, Dale Earnhardt, was crushed when he learned that Senna passed away. He found out over his radio at 200 mph at Daytona in the middle of a race. He wound up winning and as soon as he climbed out of the car he payed his respects to Ayrton on live TV. R.I.P to both champions
"I have plenty of time" Almost 30 years ago now + I remember Imola like it was yesterday.

2:18 it’s up there with one of the most iconic shots in sport history! Up there with Ali’s pose against Liston, Zidane walking past the WC, and MJ’s last shot 👌
Too bad they didn't put that in the documentary, just at the end.
Wether you like F1 or not this forever will be one of the most beautiful documentaries you can watch. Ever.
Happy birthday champ ❤️
I saw it manny times, one of the best documentaries ever about the best of the best. I was big fan of Prost, watching F1 races since Lauda time. When Senna left, we were crying, and soon after that accident, nothing was the same, there is no same spirit in drivers like he had.
Pure driving happy Senna & Terry Fullerton
For me, besides the death of direct relatives of mine, Senna's death was the hardest to accept. He was a very specil part of my life and of so many other people n Portugal. Senna is the most charismatic, brave, gentle and fair elite sportsman ever.
This man is a LEGEND... he is among some of the greatest driver’s in History
I don't know much about F1 but my dad loved Senna so my family and I watched the movie on Netflix. It's definitely an amazing watch and it's too bad more people don't know about him.

An incredible pilot ! most of his fellow pilots took him for a crazy/weird persone because he talked about concentration before racing, meditation and piloting extra visualisation before and during racing. His unique abilities weren't ricognized as well as today. But at that time he was the only one who speak about it freely. And what a great pilot he was because of it.
He is so much more thant than just the greatest pilot who ever lived...
