It looks pretty close between the SFT40 and the W5050SQ3.
I might have to get a W5050SQ3 for my S2+ with a 10 degree clear TIR. How's the tint, is it green at lower levels?
Yeah it is close but the 5050 throws further. Beam seems cleaner looking too. I'm red green colour blind but it does look a bit off/greenish on lower modes.
@@DarrenYeoYT Thank you. I think I'm gonna stick with my initial plan of getting the 3V XHP50.3 HI 5700K that Simon has now, just go for max lumens on this one. I already have other lights with great tints and high CRI.
Though it has better throw than S2+, S8 lacks the spill. Just look how far the spill is. Going S21A would be a better choice if you wanted a little more throw without sacrificing the width of the spill. 🙂

I'm curious, would the green beam best as blinding / disorienting / painful / annoying / stunning in a self-defense scenario as a white light?
I tried it on myself and it's pretty uncomfortable 😂 also accidentally shone it on some guys walking down a path and they swore at me and cover their faces. Though I'm not sure if it's more or less blinding than white light. I figure candela measurements are the most important thing.

Don't have it with me at the moment but from memory it won't fit - think that the head connection is a bit larger. @@BioHorror
Assuming s8 had the same driver for SFT40 and W5050SQ3, how fast do they both hit the high temp and step down? Does SFT40 take longer to get hot?
Pretty similar if I remember right. I made two separate reviews for those models on my channel, I think the runtime graphs are both in the videos.
