This is why wagyu cooking in Japan is Teriyaki and seared on all sides to give extra taste. It's down to surface area to volume to get the taste to tenderness right. This tends too much to the tenderness side IMO.

Smoked my first prime rib following this. 15 out of 10 recommend. Malcom's recipes are always fire. never been disappointed following one of these videos. I did the Mushrooms too.
Killer Hogs and Swine Life-two of my favorites teamed up for BBQ goodness. Amazing! For smaller families (like mine) you can source 2-3 rib wagyu roasts from some online purveyors of fine beef. Still expensive, but a lot less than a whole loin.
