Their most endearing quality, they never took themselves too serious.
Amen
But they always took the music seriously.
Having fun is a lost art. Even fun music nowadays is usually trying too hard to be cool.
Agreed, but there was that whole ‘smack my bitch up’ debacle with the Prodigy.
Yep. Like The Bloodhound Gang
Three MCs and One DJ is 🔥. Definitely worth reacting to.
I wish they would do the official videos for BBoys - not blocked, so entertaining.
Do the album version of "3MCs and 1 DJ". The video version is "ok" and overplayed. Check the original version for the "WTF" breaks
Definitley the 3mcs & 1dj video, piped in live for Mtv music awards as their performance. 1 take, 1 dj, 1 record, no beat machine. 100 percent Hip Hop from concentrate.
Their debut was 1986, but this song was 1998. This includes my favorite beat down brags, "I'll stir fry you in my wok" and "Like a pinch on the neck by Mr. Spock."
This song hits so hard with a good car stereo system. I don't care if their music is old enough to run for President, I will thump Beastie Boys in the church parking lot.
When I was in high school I had a Pioneer 15 inch woofer and 1500w amp in my car, that song was one of my favorites, the whole car vibrated 😂
The official video is wild, you gotta see it. "Body Movin'" is another great one.
If you're not watching The Beastie Boys video then you're only getting half of their experience. They're great to listen to, but they're more fun to watch.
They don’t block videos
Sometimes it’s nice to focus on the beat transitions and lyrics breakdown.
You'll enjoy the actual video. It's a blast!
Mighty Morphin Beastie Boys
Gotta do the official video with beastie boys every time. They are as iconic as the songs themselves.
"Get it Together" is another Beastie Boys track I think you'd both genuinely like, Q-Tip from A Tribe Called Quest is featured on it. As someone else who didn't grow up listening to them a lot, both are highly replayable tracks. Sabatoge too. 3 MCs and 1 DJ (official video) is just one you have to experience.
“If my Rap’s soup, my Beats is stock” is the best line.
Part of the experience is their Official Videos.
The video for this is fire.
They had the best videos.
RIP MCA. I miss you so dam much!!! He was way too young, 47, which is my age now. They are pioneers of hip hop!!
3 MC'S AND 1 DJ is pure fire.
Also Too Many Rappers ft Nas. Love y'all. 🤘🏻❤️❤️❤️
Rip MCA.❤️
Love them so much 🎶❤🎵 Great reaction 😁
The New Style, Sure Shot, Root Down, Get It Together are a must‼️💯🔥🎶🎵
You gotta check out the official music video for this song.
Totally with you on the bass quality being amazing BJ. This song takes me back. Great reaction!!
A little history lesson, everybody back in the 80's was sampling that part when he paused and said drrrrop. All the cool songs added that to their music. Nowadays, people have no idea that it was popular.
If you haven't checked it out yet, try 3 MCs and 1 DJ.
Great reaction, as always... just missing the official video. ;)
They took the 80's by storm!
More BEASTIE BOYS!!!!
Sure shot
High plains drifter
Pass the mic
Skills to pay the bills
Root down
Thank youuuuuuu ❤
I've got a hole in my head and there's no one to fix it
I gotta straighten my thoughts
I'm thinking too much sick shit
Everyone just takes and takes, takes, takes, takes
I'll have to step back, I gotta contemplate
The Beasties are the shiznitz! Open Letter to NYC is an awesome Banger as well!
Lots of Gen X love for Beasties. I had their first album on cassette right next to Slayer “Reign in Blood” that was recorded in the same studio at the same time.
No other way to say it, pioneers legends & icons ! Glad to see Beastie Boys still getting the attention they deserve. Like everyone else is saying - be sure to react to their videos, as they were groundbreaking in that sense as well. And, here is the quintessential list of tracks to melt your brain :
Car Thief
3 MCs & 1 DJ
Shake Your Rump
Finger Lickin Good
Root Down
Skills To Pay The Bills
Shadrach
Hey Ladies
Open Letter To NYC
Body Movin'
Ch-Ch-Check It Out
Professor Booty
Pass The Mic
Looking Down The Barrel
Alive
3 Minute Rule
Sure Shot
Sounds Of Science
Negotiation Limerick File
Remote Control
Super Disco Breakin'
Flute Loop
Too Many Rappers (feat Nas)
Such a entertaining experience from the Beastie Boys, & appreciate your reactions. RIP MCA 😞
This is a pretty outstanding list.
One of their best hits in my opinion! The bars are explosive.
Love to watch people discovery the Beasties...a genre of their own. Also love to see that Asia smile...beautiful.
You have to react to the official video of the songs.
I know you have problems with showing the videos but in order to take in the full experience of the Beastie Boys you got to experience the videos also. They fit like a glove in the music video era.also this song was 1998 not 80's. They'd fit in any era of hip hop.
Check Your Head album is SO ROCKIN, shows their musical/instrument talents.
Gratitude is a MUST LISTEN
Video is a must watch
You need a BBoys Marathon to really understand how many flavors they provided music!
Maybe do one song from each album from first to last. So they could see the evolution of the Beastie boys sound.
Another fantastic Beastie Boys track is High Plains Drifter, the beat on it and production is next level.
The whole Hello Nasty album is❤️🔥
Hello Nasty is straight fire, and its maybe the....4th best Beasties album. Catalog is insane
There were 4 samples in the song: ‘Intergalactic’ by the ‘Beastie Boys.’ (1998)
--------------------------
1. ‘Prelude in C# Minor‘ - Les Baxter (1968) (Which is the Organ sounding Moog Machine used throughout the song right when the first verse comes into play at (2:05)
--------------------------
2. ‘Love Is Blue (L'Amour Est Bleu)’ - The Jazz Crusaders (1968) (Which is the jazzy bass riff used at the bridge of the song at (5:28)
---------------------------
3. ‘Hang on in There‘ - The Stovall Sisters (1971) (Which are the vocals saying the line: ‘Do It!’ During the bridge of the song at (5:28) and right before the song ends at (6:22)
----------------------------
4. ‘The New Style’ - Beastie Boys (1986) (Which is the line: ‘mmmm...DROP?!‘ at (5:26)
"A from Moe Dee for Sticking to Themes'" refers to the KMD hip hop report cards from the 80s and 90s currently making rounds on the internet. He gave them very low scores overall but a high score for sticking to themes. This track has an epic video, gotta check it out sometime. Shot in Japan.
I strongly recommend listening to this entire album in a car with subwoofers 👍
Mix Master Mike, the DJ for the Beastie Boys has some good solos as well. Check out Mix Master Mike Serato.
Fire reaction, as always~
I really hope someone reacts to 3 MC’s and 1 DJ from the Beastie boys soon!
That's what I love about this song... the rhymes is very 80s style, with a late 90s beat, nice throwback/homage song! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Now that you did the lyrics video, you gotta watch the music video. It's hilarious. "I'll stir-fry you in my wok" is my favorite line, cracks me up every time.
This one came out about the time I was entering my teens, and is still one of my favorite Beastie tracks. I think it's for the same reason you stated BJ, because of that beat. Timelessly hard. I was drawn to rap with more of an edge back then, and Em was just becoming big. The Beasties definitely kept with the times, and adopted some of those sounds well. That's something that's really impressed/es me with them. Even De La Soul and Public Enemy fell off at a certain point, but they kept throwing out bangers.
The thing to note about the Beastie Boys rap style is that it's old skool early 80s rap. When all of rap chose to move with the times the Beasties stood still (they didn't business) they just kept doing it the way they always had and as music fashion etc tends to work in cycles, their old-school style of rap sounds fresh today.
Well I got to keep it going keep it going full STEAM
Too sweet to be sour too nice to be MEAN
On the tough guy style, I'm not too KEEN
To try to change the world I'll plot and SCHEME
From the family tree of old school “HIPHOP”
Kick of your shoe and relax your “SOCKS”
The rhymes will hit you like a “POX”
Cause the music is live like an electric “SHOCK”
The way they all jump on the "PUNCHLINE" is classic 80s style Rap (check out early Run DMC).
@@beyondthepage9389 I feel like you wasted that info on me, when you could have shared it with someone new to the Beasties. I probably know more about 80s/90s Hip-Hop than 90% of Hip-Hop fans today (not to boast, just truth), from East, to West coast, and everywhere in-between. And you sound like you might be a part of that 10% too.
But I'm glad that you have a comparable appreciation for the Beasties, and groups like Run DMC (I know their stuff too). 👍 And yes, I agree, very much 80s style inflections/stresses. I always felt that era was very charming, lighthearted and fun with that style. Beasties definitely being a big example of that lighthearted aspect.
Also, really old comment, but I don't mind replying 'cuz I know it might be someone's first time seeing the reaction. Keep spreading that Hip-Hop love/info my dude. Good to see there are more Hip-Hop nerds out there. 🙂
@@mattvsmetaverse I did get the impression from your comment Matt that you probably were more aware than most so no surprises there. But I actually sent it to a few people and your great response more than vindicates my reason for doing so. So no time wasted.
@@beyondthepage9389 Hey, I appreciate that. Good to hear! :)
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Check out "She's Crafty" by Beastie Boys it's so funny! I'm more into their older stuff

Love love love.
Smiles on faces is the only thing anything is about.
I'm definitely a hard rock gal but I still bump the Beastie Boys in my car. Believe it or not they started out as a punk band
When you said "We got it together" I was 👀 "Get it Together" is my #1 Beastie Track 😂
needed the video version
Hey Ladies is another you will enjoy. The official video for it is very funny. Great reaction to an amazing song.
Paul revere. Hell, the whole effing License to Ill album.
This is from 1998 my dude. They released License to Ill in 1989.
Beastie Boys started out as a punk rock band.
It's nothing short of shocking that humans exist who haven't heard this song years ago lol. Much love for the channel and both of yall.
Really everything on the Paul's Boutique is worth a listen. It's a low key classic.
Ack when this came out, it cleaned up.. there was not one persont that was not Dancing. It was one of the best songs of 1998 and 1999. I will always remember that always
My first song from them was Party - Fight for your right ! ! ! Awesome memories.
Beastie Boys are hip hop rock gods, no doubt, mind boggling
Beastie Boys were OG...lit.
You guys always come across as such genuine and nice folks.
I like that you pointed out that they were pioneers its fitting
As an 80s kid they were my first dive into hip-hop
That 808 brings that bass.
beastie boys leyendas de la música cada tema que sacaban éxito salvaron a la música saludos desde latan Bolivia aquí amamos la música de U.S.A
They did a song with Nas called “Too Many Rappers”, it’s 🔥
~* Aww man... muh fave Beastie song...he passed to soon... broke muh heart :(*~
This was the very end of the 90’s, not the 80’s. By the way, glad you discovered the beastie boys, hip hop pioneers for sure.
Their rap songs back then could make ten songs today. They stuff do many lyrics into their song’s it’s unbelievable. They were definitely pioneers of rap!!
More Beastie Boys must-listens: Sure Shot, Shake Your Rump, 3 MCs and 1 DJ, Sabotage (official video), anything from their first disc "Licensed to Ill": Brass Monkey, Fight For Your Right to Party, Hold It Now Hit It...
that was the bomb diggy yep yep
“From the family tree of old school hip hop”
Ain’t that the truth!
Saw this tour in Portland, OR in 1999!
When its done RIGHT...? The "Old School" style NEVER gets old!
My favorite Beastie Boys song.
I really enjoy people reacting to good music
there is only one word to describe this.
Dope
This was actually from like 1997 or 98 I believe. You should react to The Move, it's another bop from this album. Oh, and the original version of Body Movin. There's a Fatboy Slim version of Body Movin too. Limerick File is another good one.
I'm an 80s metal guy, and Pink Floyd but I love the roll
That was fun.
i love watching y’all love this
The video is great
The song actually came out in 1998 from their album Hello Nasty. It didn’t come out in the 80s.
😀😀😀❤️🔥🔥
This is from the late 90’s😂 They just have their own sound, kept it OLD SCHOOL
Try ,"Get it together " Beastie Boys ft. Q Tip from A Tribe Called Quest!
Whatcha Want, No Sleep Til Brooklyn, Sabotage, Brass Monkey, yall need to check out more Beastie Boys.
They said the would write their songs by just trying to make each other laugh with their rhymes.
My wedding song! 🖤
