For anybody that might care: Keep an eye out here for the background singer with super curly, very blonde hair. That's Pearl, his daughter.......Pearl was an infant when he married Pearl's Mom & he quickly adopted her. He always refers to her as his daughter, although she & her Mom came as a package deal. He raised her - Just sayin ~
Fantastic song and a stonking version. God damn it when Patti says 'STOP RIGHT THERE!' @ 5:01 she really means it! Her voice is absolutely fantastic, Meatloaf's band also deserve a mention too - proper musical legends.
forty plus years later and still loving this later...How many rap songs do you think will still be heard like this? Jim and Meat are still writing songs........
Saw tjis tour. My sis and i were out cruisin one night had nothing to do. Heard he was playing we looked eachother and went hoping we woukd get tickets from a scalper. We got better some gut just gave us front row middle tickets and walked away. We Saw Meat so many times in the 90s but this was the best by far. He even sang to us a few times. Never never never forget this concert.
Patti Russo isn't normal by any means. She is more beautiful than any woman before or since. She is more talented than anyone ever and she makes my heart, my sore tore up heart feel happy! Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for giving the universe Patti Russo! She is your greatest creation ever!
One of the most simply evocative titles ever - guess it takes us all back to somewhere we wish we still were! And I hope makes everyone smile as it does me!
My dream has always been to be onstage with Meat Loaf. Yeah, right. But I've got a strong voice that I can project real well from a stage and I have the dramatic flair it takes to banter with Meat. What a trip it would be.
WOW, takes me back to my first boat on the St. Croix river that separated Minn and Wisc. Each summer Friday would head south to the Mississippi for the weekend with this album blaring.
Ok I know that people don't particularly like how most of Meat's songs are performed live. But in honesty... shut up. Meat is a performer and will perform the songs as he sees fit. Plus Meat has said that if people want to listen to the songs as they were recorded then don't watch him live and listen to the albums. So if you don't like his live performances, go away from them and stick to the records.
Master Shadow I agree I say this if he or anyone sounded record perfect life I wonder anyone I see live is never album perfect I never seen him unfortunately but I understand it too
Did you ever think that songs could be written before you ever were born, with all the modern day equipment? This song written in the a970's does not need any modernization, it sounds fine as it is.
the best vwesaion i have seen him sing and act with other girls while in concert on youtube this song but doesnt look comfortable with the other irls he does there
Yeah Karla divito version was great, but think he better chemistry with Patti, probably cos they worked together so long! Patti, Karla and Aspen Millar all had amazing voices, Patti was amazing especially in I would do anything for love. Aspen also was great singing that song. Meatloaf is one of if not the greatest performers of all time!
Die hard Meat Loaf fan. No musician sounds same live as they do on vinyl or cd its impossible. All the haters of live music just stick to vinyl or cds.
OK, this is great.....however.....I think I like Ellen Foley's vocals better, I guess I am biased though because she is what was coming through the single speaker of the AM tube radio of my 56 Chevy in the 70's .......did the horizontal bop to this song many times in the back seat........hot summer nights that you kids cannot even imagine.
LOL.........I'm 17 again listening to this............god bless Patti and Meatloaf
I'm 52 counting down to retirement but every weekend I hit it like I was 18 again. What memories what songs we had
Yup the anthem of a generation. We're all old now; scars to prove it. But what a ride it was my friends. And this song defined it.
I ‘m 62 and I couldn’t have said it better. Truly an anthem of our generation. Brings back so many memories, we had the greatest music.
Excellent version of this song. The band is 100% on point and Meat and Patti nearly perfect.
Please tell me who can sing this song better than Meatloaf & patti . Also what do you mean nearly perfect ? It was beyond perfect .
One of the best duets ever.
Patti Russo;what a voice and stage presence! And actress!
Patti's voice sends a shiver down your back
I Love Meat Patti and the Loaf man !!!
Patti Russo is a gift
He is a talent that can never be replaced.
I know it been a long time.......But I keep going back to it.......
Miss you Meat!
Patti Russo is a gift
Patti Russo was totally Amazing....and she was the best backup he EVER had..... He hasn't been nearly as good without Her.
Bit painful how she blows him away here. But yes, what a hottie
Meat’s a gift… ;)
This is how all love songs should end.
That's what I was thinking. Almost scary how she sings that. She is truly a Goddess!!
great female singer!!!
Fantastic song and a stonking version.
God damn it when Patti says 'STOP RIGHT THERE!' @ 5:01 she really means it! Her voice is absolutely fantastic, Meatloaf's band also deserve a mention too - proper musical legends.
She has a very commanding voice , Meat also has a commanding voice , buy hers is something .
Oh yes you are right
@@tammybray5008 yes 👍
It takes me back to when I was 18 and had world at my feet now I'm 60 wishing I was 18 again
Then you wouldn't have your grandchildren!
74 now, used to to dance to this in 78, very suggestively, not easy to hide the reaction, if you know what I mean.
Allen Damask I this is true, 67 and still kicking ass.....
How I miss those nights. Between Meat Loaf and Seeger pretty much describes my teen age years.
Wish I was 18 again to, and I'm also 60
Patti sure can sing !
Timeless classic! How to roll back your youth!
Song was great when it came out.....still great today
Grat, übt Patti, i Love you😙
They were perfect together. So glad I got to see Meat Loaf.
forty plus years later and still loving this later...How many rap songs do you think will still be heard like this? Jim and Meat are still writing songs........

Meatloaf is one of the greatest of all time!!!!
I know I don't have what I did back in the 70s, neither does Meat Loaf. Still good, but back then he was amazing.
OH YES THE MEATLOAF BROUGHT BACK SO MANY GREAT MEMORIES !
OMG, I am on a Meat Loaf binge and can’t stop.
Me too
And me too
Why not. Me too love it
I've been on a Meat Loaf binge for over 40 years and it won't stop until I'm dead.
BEST lead singer he had
Absolutely Extraordinary
2 LEGENDS xx 🎤🎼🎶
A really understand rated singer that should of been in the rock and roll Hall of Fame years ago
My anthem from the 70’s
There is rock and roll and then there is rock and roll, a song for the ages and BOH has no bad songs so rare for an album. Big bad Elvis lives
She has one hell of a voice.
This kid really knows how to make things happen out there
Not only is this great music, but it is also damn good theatre! The last sentence with thre little words, it really made the whole performance!
saw him live afew times and he is brillant a great artist
Thank you Martin and thank you Patti. One of the greatest Rock Duetist teams ever.
neil03152 *Marvin (now Michael)
@@Elisabeth0801 he officially changed his first name because he never liked the name "Marvin"
@@Scheherasad I know. I wrote 'now Michael
Perfection. Don't see it in today's music.
Yes, a great version of a brilliant song. And then there were 3 words that made it even better.
Yep lol
We have all been here. Are there many of us who have said it as triumphantly as this ?
Ha Ha excellent version, specially the ending, great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love when they argue 😂😂
His faces and movements when Patti singed the stop right there part were priceless, and cracked me up to be honest. lol XD
Also soooooo good looking
Patti Russo isn't normal by any means. She is more beautiful than any woman before or since. She is more talented than anyone ever and she makes my heart, my sore tore up heart feel happy! Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for giving the universe Patti Russo! She is your greatest creation ever!
Hi Patti.
Both of them have always been incredibly exceptional!!!!
One of the most simply evocative titles ever - guess it takes us all back to somewhere we wish we still were! And I hope makes everyone smile as it does me!
Brilliant chemistry by both Patti & Meat xx
A lesson so many of us learned long ago to which we did not adhere!
They are like an old married couple at the end - so bloody funny!!
Patti Russo is flat out fantastic. Just amazing.
Saw this gig in Poole Dorset, England. A fantastic night.
"Glowing like the metal on the edge of a knife........"
How can anyone say this is the best version has never seen the video made for the album
Imp
Reminds me.of.my first marriage!
That guy on drums is amazing
BabyBoomerChannel LOL Noticed him too with that subzero-face on. ‘Cheers Boomer!’
John Miceli, Meats drummer since 91, still his drummer even with the new singer!
My dream has always been to be onstage with Meat Loaf. Yeah, right. But I've got a strong voice that I can project real well from a stage and I have the dramatic flair it takes to banter with Meat. What a trip it would be.
patti russo has one of the great female rock voices.
patti russo is amazing
Best rock ballad ever.
This is one of the reasons TSO tapped Patti to sing After The Fall...Amazing Voice
WOW, takes me back to my first boat on the St. Croix river that separated Minn and Wisc. Each summer Friday would head south to the Mississippi for the weekend with this album blaring.
I grew up to this I love it
The blond back up singer often seen over Meat's left shoulder is his daughter Pearl.
Chris K that's what I thought
I love it, wow. Simply the best version
Patti in this version is phenomenal though!
Meatloaf's voice will not ever be touched
Very very good love it my fav one
LOVE PATTI!!! THE ENDING WAS GOOD!!!
listened to this song at the drive inn when I was 18
Outstanding!
Excellent!
Great version. Anything with MEAT works for me!! Ty for this!!
You would almost think these two were married with how long they've been singing together
Thank you for posting so many amazing videos!
I love it!
Hahaha i love the arguments at the end. "I got three little words for you", lol
Thanks for posting. The combination of the music&memories of the time make these videos a great gift. Thanks again!
Every young man over 12 should study this song.
Love, LOVE, LOVE, HIM SOOOOOO MUCH

Master Shadow I agree I say this if he or anyone sounded record perfect life I wonder anyone I see live is never album perfect I never seen him unfortunately but I understand it too
You should have been around for the Eagles, they kicked ass live.
Meat Loaf is an actor in musical theatre and always was a performer first.
He has always stated that he... Is an actor who sings! One of if not our greatest performer ever!
Goosbump alarm..
Love it
One of the all time best!!! Who ever. integrates the Scooter?! Epic!
Wasn't meatloaf and pattie Russo a great combination together, absolutely unique x
And the end was hilarious too lol XD.
this is fab
Agreed anything MEAT 🥩. Love this thanks again!!
Did you ever think that songs could be written before you ever were born, with all the modern day equipment? This song written in the a970's does not need any modernization, it sounds fine as it is.
It's a Jim Steinman-song, timeless
the best vwesaion i have seen him sing and act with other girls while in concert on youtube this song but doesnt look comfortable with the other irls he does there
Get better soon, Meat!
Hey I loved the original! But I really appreciate trying going backwards.Love it!We're all getting older!Great!!
Great tune
Still great!
I think the best version is the one she is wearing the white jumper! My opinion counts for 1!
I like the white jumper too ;)
Love it too
That was Karla Divito. This is Patti Russo. Different eras of the Loaf. Although I do love Karla, Patti is a much more passionate performer.
Whatever Patti wears is just fine with me. Especially at the 2001(?) Proms.
a fav
Great singer
fab
Die hard Meat Loaf fan.

I like the Album-Version. But Russo is so much better than the Lady they had on the Album.
