Minor mistake, Luchapt is not in the Haute-Vienne department but in... the Vienne. OK, bordering, but still. Makes a difference with local administration.
What a familiar sight... another half finished house in France where the owners have given up or run out of money.
Its very nice, if its " ASIS" there are added costs for finishing..maybe bringing room for negotiations? Is the cash only? How about for those who live in the US?
You can only get a tourist visa for 3 months once per year if you are a US citizen.

Clearly lots of work came into it, but the problem is that layout is already in (especially of upstairs). If it doesn't fit new owner's needs, it will have to be ripped out and redone.
That maybe so, but also the same for any house, it is hard to find the perfect layout. For the right person it is ideal. but certainly not for everyone.
@@anewlifein_france I agree, but the majority of houses would have a standard(-ish) layout. This one is very unusual (3 staircases, tiny separate space, lots of narrow passages and unusually-shaped bedrooms). People who renovated it probably had some architectural constraints (like beams/load-bearing internal walls) to work with and maybe had their specific needs (like to have a guest suite, more rooms for children etc.). I'm not a prospective buyer, but I'd say it's not a 20-30k, but at least another 100k to make it liveable/refit for other needs. But the house has huge potential, that's for sure.

The layout of that house is very strange- not good at all. It is extremely choppy, and what a waste of space to have 3 separate staircases to tiny bedrooms upstairs. It is like a rabbit's den upstairs (in a bad way). Clearly the previous owner had no experience in layout design nor help from an architect. It is not my favourite area of France- so I am not surprised at the price. It is an ok price but it is a very average/boring property.
This is a rather nice house for a good price.
I can't help but think why the person who's been working here has decided to sell..
I'm also curious what the internet, water, and what a survayor has to say about it structurally

The property when I looked around it had power and water. In France there are lots of different options for internet, although lots of rural France is having fibre installed. I note you comment on it being flooded, I doubt that based on its position height wise and far from a river. @@shervinmokthari1251 A relative of mine has a wonderfull stonefarmhouse for sale in Normandy with about 1 acre of flat land, in a village with bakery, grocery store, butcher - deli, cafe - bar, all in main street 5 minutes walk from front gate. It is in need of full renovation but livable as it is, with eletcicity, water & fiber internet. Not on the market yet. Would you be intereted to see it?
