Can't wait to see how fun the 400EX can be restored to near OEM condition with the necessary added hardware to take a beating for years to come out on the trail. Hopefully you'll join us for the rest of this build and test series. SUBSCRIBE so you don't miss it!
The ol "bug eyes" are great all around machines. I bought 3 new ones back in the day. Had a deposit on a 99 for awhile before they made it to dealers. Alot of anticipation and in my opinion, this is the quad that re-awakened the sport quad industry.. 👍
I was racing a built Warrior when this machine came out. First time I saw them go around the track.I knew it was over. They looked so smooth compared to the machines of the time.

That's a great idea. It's the one suspension swap that we would actually endorse. We aren't doing that in this series but would like to mention that mod in our final episode where we test the machine. Would you be willing to send us some video of photos of your machine to use?

@@ATVonDemand it didn’t sound like a 9 minute long commercial. Some of the older videos sound like you’re narrating for “The all new 2024 Chevy Silverado” lol
Awesome video and nice bike. Pretty decent price for the condition it’s in. These people who are saying that 3k is too expensive for it haven’t bought a bike since 2010
Its a good idea to use a 87-92 250x clutch cable on a 400ex. Its longer so you can route it down the frame rails with zip ties and keep it away from the header.
Love builds like this. You guys should do a collaboration with Mike Sabo. They do things like quad shoot outs and he does a lot of builds. Would love to see another participant 👍.
@@ATVonDemand The popular stuff here is the sport utility and sxs because Hatfield isn't to far away. sport quads just ain't it anymore so they the cheaper option to get into riding. i my self have a 16' XXC 1k Renegade. BUT at one time had the same 400 in this video haha
I paid 2k for my 400 a few weeks back nice bike but I should of tried to pay less not gonna lie because once I go over it and do what I want I'll be in it another 2500 or so because I wanna go fast and make it sexy as can be with a ridable set up think I'ma do a 426 kit and a stage 2 cam to wake it up a little for the trails
@@ATVonDemand Those bulky parking break ones look terrible and it doesn’t look like you’re running a parking break anyway. A perch is an affordable and functional upgrade that cleans up your handlebars.

I would like to get one for free. In my country, the same one in the video is sold for $5,000, and I want one at a reasonable price. Do you have one?
Nice to see these beauties getting some love... Let's see that 230 already!!! Is that the Rubicon still sitting back there!!! 😂
230 shoot in june! Rubicon is out of here.
Ive restored a 400ex already once and plan to do it again. Great machine and great video guys! Keep up the good work
Two more episodes then we'll test it. After that we'll build it Up for racing.
Can you restore mine

Tusk makes a +2” cable. Thats what I run on mine.
Great editing thanks for the video

You never know.
What are the specs of the flexx bars?
$2500-$3200 is what ones in good shape go for around here in VA.
Your purchase looks like it would of been around $2000 or so here.
Sounds like you guys get reasonable deals around there.

Hello, Are you interested in testing our products? We would like to invite you to test the Air Vent Windshield for your 2012 polaris RZR XP 4 900
I personally would have not bought that quad for $3,000.
The main frame is straight with no dents on the bottom. The engine sounds like velvet with no valvr ticks. We don't feel taken.
@ATVonDemand I thought it was a decent price it does kinda depend on the area it was purchased too

Pretty dang clean 400. Hard to find em that clean. Not bad really for 3k.
Honda TRX 400 is the best quad.
Arguably yes.
