I live here and it's great! Small town feel with Big City amenities nearby. People put Gresham down, but that's the Gresham of over a decade ago. Much of Portland was sketchy then too, to be honest. I'll go ahead and post my response to some clueless Millennial real estate agent's video where he got almost every single fact wrong! 😂😂😂
Below is what I posted to the other guy (not this gentleman):
    1. Your disparaging facts about Gresham are all wrong (again this was to the Millennial real estate ). Let's start with my 2600 sq. ft., 4 br./2ba. house on a quiet cul-de-sac, sitting on a 1/2 acre lot where we've got very little crime and stunning views of Mt. Hood. We bought it ten years ago for $270K. It's now worth $588K easy, and that's not taking into account market conditions, our planned renovations, and Portland's limited housing stock, so it's probably closer to $600k.
    2. Our charming downtown is Main St. (not the shopping center) and starts with The Gresham Historical Society. It's only a couple of blocks long, but it's lined with turn-of-the-century buildings housing locally owned stores, restaurants, and antique shops. We even have a candy store!
    3. Gresham, at least the East Hill neighborhood close to where I live, is completely clean, has well-tended houses and lawns, and few if any homeless people, ever since the Gresham police cleared out the encampments that ran along the Springwater Trail.
    4. Where the other guys filmed and were calling downtown was our central shopping center, where I walk to (even after dark!) all the time whenever I need to go to The World Market, Ann Taylor Loft, Ulta, Hallmark, Bed Bath and Beyond, or Best Buy. But I usually go there to frequent the independently owned pet store or our local Starbucks with one of the biggest and nicest outdoor patios on the East Side.
    5. Don't get me started on our gorgeous neighborhood park or the Main City Park downtown, where the city hosts outdoor movie nights, little league games, and festivals. There's also our new Art Plaza, our Farmer's Market, the Classic Car and Teddy Bear parades they hold every year and the $147 Million East County Library and Civic Center they broke ground on at the end of last year.

    6. Our high school has been completely renovated to the highest standards: ua-cam.com/video/emaky6fKR-k/v-deo.html. And they've built a new elementary school in the neighborhood you're walking through, also built to the same high standards as the high school.
    7. (The Millennial real estate agents, not this gentleman, filmed a Gresham walk-through at the Civic Center Plaza thinking it was our downtown, so this is in regards to that.) And I have to mention that the Trimet station you filmed at is one of the safest along the route to Portland because that building over your shoulder, in the video clip, is our City Hall. And next to that is our Police Headquarters, our Fire Dept., and the School District offices.
Anyone interested in learning more about Gresham REALLY needs to talk to a Gresham-based real estate agent (someone more like the gentleman above) or get a local resident to show you around.
