how sure are you that you are getting proper venting of crankcase gasses/oil? That smallish filter was made to pass air from the exterior inwards, the oil mist coming out will clog up the filter and reduce venting plus-even if the filter is totally clean- the volume of air you are passing seems much less than original setup in airbox no?
For The Bold So your crankcase emits directly int the filter? And what is the pressue drop across this filter when oil mist builds up inside it? What is the max, crankcase pressure now vs, when it routed to the airbox? You mist have data for this if you ars “190% sure” no?
For The Bold oh boy...never mind.....I was a QA Mgr of the largest filter manufacture in the world .....filters get more efficient as they get dirtier but also cause increased pressure drop...the latter being the most important- but pales in comparison to relieving the crankcase pressure which, if unchecked, will adversely affect pumping performance, seal integrity etc, Look, you made a nice video of installing parts but your breather part accessory requires some deeper thought. Good luck
Doing a ‘79 CB 750k my self right now. Have K&N pods for stock carbs and needing to buy breathers - looks like the 1/2 where the best fit? Enjoying your work and learning a ton for my build so thanks!
Great video as always. I like the look of the Adelin brake lever/master cylinder and clutch lever. How have they held up? I have a twin disc CB750 build and hope they will be suitable. Some of the items listed are for radial but CB are axial?
What is the allowable current draw through your switches? The look like ones I have used which can not take the normal current that the Honda switches take. So I had to use an ‘m unit’ or a relay for each switch function. Just wondering. Nice work by the way.
For The Bold - dreegez I believe they will handle around 3-5amps. It’s hard to get a proper answer but after some research that’s the conclusion I have came to. I converted all my lights including the headlight to LED. I used a clamp meter to check the current pulled by my loads and the headlight max was just over 2amp on high beam. I’m confident they will be fine. Worst case scenario fit a remote switching relay for the headlight if you have concerns.
I allways wonder : in every café racer build video I've watched so far, everyone just changes the air filters on their bikes. But no one ever mentions if they changed the jets in the carburateurs. Since the bike will get far more air with those new filters, the air-gas mixture will be to poor, no? And only way to fix that is to get larger jets in your carbs .... Or do you guys buy air filters witch give the bike the exact same amount of air in the carbs??
That’s great Man! I went ahead and did the pod conversion on my 750. I cleaned the carbs, changed the jets, didn’t bother checking the shims (they have been there for 600 miles), bench synchronized the carbs and hung them on the bike. The bike was purring at 1200rpm and it sounds awesome with the Delkevic pipes. You are going to love it. I was looking for a set of crankcase breathers. The two K&N you used are the same part number? (It looks like 62-1010?) I’m asking because I have two different diameters on the breather hoses/pipes. The left one is a hose and the right one is a pipe of smaller diameter than the left one. What did you use on the right side? Cheers!
@@forthebold the questions are 1. Will any size tyre fit on these ugandan bikes. " i want bigger tyres" 2. How do i get the fuel tank raised without damaging anything 3. How to change the sound of the bike.... 4. I would like, love to come over and work with you! I'd be greatful if my questions are answered
1. Not sure on tyres, that would be a question to your local tyre place. 2. You can raise a tank easily at the point of screwing it on by the seat. 3. You can change the exhaust 4. It's not my full time job.
You really nailed the sound for this one!! great stuff
Amazing, good to hear.
Your builds look so clean I wish mine would look like that
Thanks, hopefully they'll stay that way, even if they are a little dusty after being in the workshop.
Oh but we do wanna see you put on all the small tedious shit!
Thumbs up
Coming along so very nicely. Can't wait to hear the 4into1 pipes. Then the Maico Makeover !! Cool stuff ! ✌
Thanks, yeah it'll be nice to hear, and also nice to hear if the fresh engine runs ok.
It's already looking so good man! Great work!
Hi, nice and tide job. Lovely first shots of the bike with the camera , thanks. Gus
Thanks Gus
Amazing work, so nice and inspiring. Best regards from Spain.
Thanks, glad to hear it's inspiring
nice job ! where are the handle bars from ?
Dime City have a good range
Coming together nicely 👍🏻
Sure is, thanks again for the lever
Keep on keeping on and I'm sure you'll get there, oh and loving the new switch gear👍🏻
Thanks, makes a change from my usual controls
What size is the cb750 breather filter?

190% sure as it’s a dedicated crank case filter. Not a carb pod. It’s been design for such an application.

Tinuti Friulano head over to the K&N site and all figures will be there for you.

Just saw your breather recommendation in another reply!

So far so good. Been using them on bikes for 3 years now.
Looks great, can you give me a link to the leavers grips etc?
Levers are Adelin and grips are from Dime City Cycles
For The Bold - dreegez thanks mate
Great vid mate. Could you please post a link to the levers, I really like them.
Search for Adelin, they'll come up.
Looking good 👍 keeping up a great pace😊 build on!
Thanks, nearly there
Just looking at the master cylinder now on ebay, do they come with a front brake like switch?
This one does
What was the model of the Adelin brake and clutch levers you use? Amazing videos!! Really learning a lot!
Thanks. They’re not named anything but they’ll be the only ones.

Yet to find out but confident these will be ok as I've tested them off the bike with a mini set up to see if they were working ok.

What length clutch cable did you go with? I put drag bars on mine and the cables are too long.
You can shorten them down pretty easily

Check out my other episodes on all 3 builds. There’s an episode on jet replacing and sizing and tuning for every bike.

Yeah that seems right for the number. On mine I've replaced both with hoses for a 1/2" diameter flange
Cool. Great! Thank you Sir. I’ll order them right now. Looking forward to see what that beauty is going to look like.
Cheers.
what are the specs on the handle bars? ive been searching for some but not sure what size to go with
These are just standard 22mm (7/8th) bars
Does anyone know where he gets his clip on handlebars? I want to get a set for my CX500 and it would be a great help!
Breather KN filter model and size?
I honestly can’t remember
Where did you source the buttons?
Ebay
Finally!
It is
Cool
Thanks
So jealous !
Simple steps and detail but it'll get there.
Love the build/videos, not a fan of that background music.
Ha, not everyone feels the hip hop.
don't like that handlebar, put some flat track handlebar
Gonna stay with these and be bold
I have something very important to tell you
Please do tell
