    I’m living in the UK and have just ordered my first couple of colours moments before watching this tutorial. Once I’ve wrapped my head around this paint I’ll be getting these colours too for my little girls bedroom! Thank you for being so humble and laid back about the techniques. It’s less intimidating for beginners! 🥳

    Both those colors are gorgeous. I like the dark oil its doesn't stay on too thick.

      It’s so nice, it wipes right off, stays in the cracks to make them stand out, and dries hard.

    😳 I really love these colors, the way they cover the furniture and bring light into the piece. I almost like the oil finish over the wax but not quite! You both do a great job and the staging for the pink is awesome!

    Great video ladies! I'm getting ready to do an old nightstand. I'm so nervous not sure what I'm doing, lol. The top is sanded, which I'm staining, then painting the rest. Love your channel Jami, going to check out part 1 also and your channel Sausha. Thanks for sharing!

      Jami Ray Vintage It is sunny and 90 here, it’s unseasonably warm . I have the windows open and the ceiling fans running the smell of honey suckle and wild flowers permeate the air. It’s wonderful weather. I hope the sun comes your way. 🌻

    I’m really going to have to get some nerve and try milk paint. I love chalk paint but for some reason scared of milk paint, to add or not add extra bond??? ( not sure if that’s how it spelled) . I love the colors esp the pink. I’m going hunting for another project and might try the milk paint. Thank for sharing ❤️❤️

      It’s so fun! It took me a couple of projects to really learn its quirks but I get the most amazing chippy results from milk paint.

    I need to try the oil wax now! What type of oil is it?

    • @JamiRayVintage
      @JamiRayVintage  6 років тому +1

      It’s a combination of natural oils and resins.
      I used the dark variation. It comes in clear and black as well. ❤️❤️

    Hi Jami, I’m using the oil wax for the first time. If after you wipe it all down and it dries can you add more at that time or does it need to be done while still wet? Thanks

    Jami, finally using SP milk paint. I applied my first coat and it has some chippy going on. My question is, do I lightly sand before applying 2nd coat or just apply it right over 1st coat. Thanks. I have a feeling I’m about to get addicted to milk paint. 💐

      Jami Ray Vintage I've taken about a year off, got married, moved and started a new job all this last year :-) I have 3 pieces in my garage to get started on, so excited! I had such a huge stash as I had a booth and sold custom pieces, but got rid of it all :-( so now I'm ready do get back at it! The liquid oil looks awesome and easy!

    I haven't seen you do much with Annie Sloan. Why is that? What's the difference between that type of chalk paint and the milk paint you are talking about.

    • @JamiRayVintage
      @JamiRayVintage  6 років тому +2

      I tried Annie Sloan paint awhile back and didn’t like it. I use the brands I sell because I went through a lot of different paints a few years back trying to find the ones I loved at price points I could live with and Fairy Chalk Mother, Sweet Pickins Milk Paint, and DIY paint are my favorites.
      Chalk paint is much different than milk paint. Both are minimal prep paints.
      I use chalk paint for neater finishes or if I am going to spray paint, I use milk paint if I want a natural chippy look and DIY paint is clay based that is heavily pigmented making it very thick and perfect for blending.
      Hope that answers your questions. 👍

    • @JamiRayVintage
      @JamiRayVintage  6 років тому +1

      Ah man! That stinks. What are finished pieces selling for in your area? Is it worth buying at a higher price?

    • @susanvelez6534
      @susanvelez6534 6 років тому

      Jami Ray Vintage I'm not even sure I looked on Craigslist today and it's all somewhat newer things and the prices are high. I'm having a yard sale this weekend and next weekend I'm going to get up super early and go yard scaling. I really think that's the only way I'll find decent inexpensive things to flip. I live in Oregon, people here don't make much but they sure try to sell for alot' it does stink 😢🙋🏻

    I greatly respect Jami Ray but if the owner of Sweet Pickings in her own workshop with a piece of her own furniture can't make her paint chippy what chance do the rest of us have?

    • @JamiRayVintage
      @JamiRayVintage  6 років тому +1

      A great chance! Every piece is different, and Sausha will be the first to tell you, milk paint has different chipping results nearly every time. that’s what is great about it. Her piece still looked old and age worn when she was done. 👍
