    I purchased a china cabinet this week for my daughter and was trying to decide on a color to paint it. I love these two colors together and it has a lot of detail. I think she will like this French County look. Thanks for another informative and how to video !!

    🦋I'm so excited to watch this video, to learn how to blend paints. This piece is exactly what I'm looking to find.
    I also watch Dionne Wood, but it's difficult for me to duplicate the process.

    This is the first day I've learnt what chalk paint is! I've binged about 15 vids & yours are the best. When you put a top coat over, is that a wax (to then seal it before applying the black wax) or any kind of clear top coat?

    • @JamiRayVintage
      @JamiRayVintage  4 роки тому

      You can use a liquid top coat or you could use a clear wax. That’ll help you move the dark wax to where you want it.

    Hi Jamie! I love your videos! I would love to use that same color of simple sage to paint a big TV stand , so I tried to order it form Fairy Chalk Mother but I never received it 😞 ( after over two weeks of waiting) and they never responded to my emails either as it seems like that’s the only means of contact listed on those website ..
    Is there any other company you can possibly recommend a similar color from? I would truly greatly appreciate your help! Thank you so much:)

      We’ve gone to just using DIY paint. Mix in some gypsy green with apothecary and it is really close to that color.

    • @JamiRayVintage
      @JamiRayVintage  6 років тому

      You don't have to spray it to get the look, we often use a foam brush or even a regular brush to apply Top Coat. We used the sprayer in this video because it's faster and I needed to get it done.

    • @JamiRayVintage

      Sometimes they stick, but not often. We wait to open them until they are dry, and if they stick I run a utility knife between the drawers and they come right out.

    💚 Love it !! and the white gave it a big pop to it 💚 beautiful piece...questions the top coat do you have to have a sprayer , if not when using a brush would it leave the brush lines.

    • @JamiRayVintage
      @JamiRayVintage  6 років тому

      We spray it when we can because it’s fast and we do a lot of projects but you can totally brush it. I like to use a Wooster foam brush on my top coats because it really helps eliminate brush strokes.

    Question for you:
    Where do you draw the line when it comes to painting furniture?
    I have a dresser that was my grandmother's, with quite the history...it literally came over on a ship from England and was hauled across the Plains. I've looked it up, it's not worth a ton.
    I'm short on space and I'm over the cherry wood color. I was ready to offer it to another family member, but if I painted it....

    • @JamiRayVintage
      @JamiRayVintage  6 років тому +1

      I don’t really have a line. Yes, wood can be beautiful. But I love painted furniture. Every now and then I’ll see a piece of light wood furniture and leave it as is but if it’s dark wood I almost always paint.

    • @JamiRayVintage

      Zeb drills small pilot holes for finishing nails on the edges of the corbels and just tacks them up in corners if they aren’t structural. If they are structural he uses screws and fills the larger holes with wooden dowels.
