I purchased a china cabinet this week for my daughter and was trying to decide on a color to paint it. I love these two colors together and it has a lot of detail. I think she will like this French County look. Thanks for another informative and how to video !!
holy cow! I have this piece!!! but for legs:) I found it in a thrift store in Florida about 10 years ago. I am happy to find a great idea on how to finally paint it. Thank you.
Bondo....gawd bless Bondo....so Glad to see im not the only one who uses it for.....almost anything really.....only for my own stuff tho..when i restore i use the primo products..but for mine...anything goes...that piece you have there is a Beaut! ...& Excellent work!
🦋I'm so excited to watch this video, to learn how to blend paints. This piece is exactly what I'm looking to find. I also watch Dionne Wood, but it's difficult for me to duplicate the process.
i agree up there with the top ten. the color and use of the paint really demonstrates the finely crafted design. good technique and awsome restructuring. i can also see this piece with a bright turquoise and a light grey...
Thank you, I've learnt so much from watching this video. I hope that there are more to watch as I've just found you and have subscribed to your channel. Really enjoyed watching and have learnt enough to practice the blending methods. xxx
Hi!! So nice to see ya..I really enjoy your videos.. Thank you for sharing all your tips They’re really helpful I’ve been a fan of both of you for some time now.. I found you through Deb’s DIY chalk paint channel I guess I’d call myself ShipWrecked.. This piece you are working on is Amazing It’s so nice that all of you gifted artists are supporting one another. You’re teaching all of us your gifts..and your Art and it’s such a nice contribution during Quarantine.. Thank You. Best Wishes and continued success and happiness for both of you and the family.. Another great video😃
I had my fill of green growing up during the 70s. But I learned how to add a skirt. I needed that info in order to replace the one on this chest of drawers I found on the street corner
I think your both fantastic. i have been watching your videos as i have been off of work for a few days. The weather has been amazing and with your videos you have had me motivated to be arty and crafty :-) :-)
This is the first day I've learnt what chalk paint is! I've binged about 15 vids & yours are the best. When you put a top coat over, is that a wax (to then seal it before applying the black wax) or any kind of clear top coat?
The color is just beautiful & the darker wax really brings out the details. I'm kinda on the fence w the handles though. lol I love them both ways. Glad u had to choose & not me! ;-)
Do you paint the back and bottom of your pieces or just the sides and front that are seen? Y’alls work is always amazing I’m inspired to do a furniture piece just not braved it yet!
Hi Jamie! I love your videos! I would love to use that same color of simple sage to paint a big TV stand , so I tried to order it form Fairy Chalk Mother but I never received it 😞 ( after over two weeks of waiting) and they never responded to my emails either as it seems like that’s the only means of contact listed on those website .. Is there any other company you can possibly recommend a similar color from? I would truly greatly appreciate your help! Thank you so much:)
We’ve gone to just using DIY paint. Mix in some gypsy green with apothecary and it is really close to that color. jamirayvintage.com/collections/diy-paint-and-finishes
You don't have to spray it to get the look, we often use a foam brush or even a regular brush to apply Top Coat. We used the sprayer in this video because it's faster and I needed to get it done.
So pretty!! Do you have any country blue paint? I think I want to try the milk paint what do you think? Going to do this on a small side table. Any advice ? Thank you
It’s water based so if I’m worried about a piece having bleed through we use salvation solution primer. jamirayvintage.com/products/wood-stain-blocker-diy-paint-co?variant=31544103665753
Sometimes they stick, but not often. We wait to open them until they are dry, and if they stick I run a utility knife between the drawers and they come right out.
💚 Love it !! and the white gave it a big pop to it 💚 beautiful piece...questions the top coat do you have to have a sprayer , if not when using a brush would it leave the brush lines.
We spray it when we can because it’s fast and we do a lot of projects but you can totally brush it. I like to use a Wooster foam brush on my top coats because it really helps eliminate brush strokes. amzn.to/2Htt5y9
Question for you: Where do you draw the line when it comes to painting furniture? I have a dresser that was my grandmother's, with quite the history...it literally came over on a ship from England and was hauled across the Plains. I've looked it up, it's not worth a ton. I'm short on space and I'm over the cherry wood color. I was ready to offer it to another family member, but if I painted it....
I don’t really have a line. Yes, wood can be beautiful. But I love painted furniture. Every now and then I’ll see a piece of light wood furniture and leave it as is but if it’s dark wood I almost always paint.
I use the central pneumatic HVLP with a 20 oz hopper. I get them from harbor freight. If you look at our playlists I have one compiled for videos all about spraying and cleaning the guns. (It won’t let me link it for some reason)
I just love you channel. I found it last week and literally have been binge watching every single video of yours. I have a question, I made a decorative corbel to go into an opening of my bedroom but I’m at loss as to how to hang it. Please help!!!! It’s 5” wide and 12.5” long. Thank you!!!
Zeb drills small pilot holes for finishing nails on the edges of the corbels and just tacks them up in corners if they aren’t structural. If they are structural he uses screws and fills the larger holes with wooden dowels.
Jami Ray Vintage awesome. Thank you so much!!! I will be putting mine up this week. Mine aren’t even close to what Zeb’s are, lol. He does amazing work on his lathe and makes some amazing pieces. I just made a pair of chunky farmhouse looking ones. Wish we could share photos here. Thanks again. Xo
I’m sure yours look great! I have a Facebook group....Jami Ray Vintage Group.... set up specifically for people to share their work and ideas and get help on projects. You should join! 👍
On the bottom drawer in the middle needed to be filled in with woood filler there is a big chip. I am a painter and artist. I see the small things and so will the buyer. Trust me.
Felicidades!! Me encantan sus videos por favor pongan subtítulos en español que pintura utilizan y donde la podemos comprar ??👍🏻😇. Les quedo precioso!!!!
💚 the look of how this cabinet turned out guys. A beautiful green. so i have to ask is sis going to be part of the Jami Ray team? Maybe filming at her home painting etc, is this why you’re teaching her tips and tricks not to mention getting her use to be in front of camera, just a thought 😊
New to your channel, found you through Debbie...❤ her 🙂. Glad to have found you! I think it's funny how much faster a Mom paints compared to a single lady😂
Rewatching all your older videos. Loving them still.
I really enJoyed watching you do the paint blending, I, going to try it
I purchased a china cabinet this week for my daughter and was trying to decide on a color to paint it. I love these two colors together and it has a lot of detail. I think she will like this French County look. Thanks for another informative and how to video !!
Yay! Good luck on your project!
Thanks !!
Thanks for repair tips and blending techniques!!
Beautiful!! I’m new to trying to paint furniture.... that being said, my heart almost stopped when you first applied the dark wax. It ended perfect.
holy cow! I have this piece!!! but for legs:) I found it in a thrift store in Florida about 10 years ago. I am happy to find a great idea on how to finally paint it. Thank you.
Awesome! Wish mine had legs! 😂
Bondo....gawd bless Bondo....so Glad to see im not the only one who uses it for.....almost anything really.....only for my own stuff tho..when i restore i use the primo products..but for mine...anything goes...that piece you have there is a Beaut! ...& Excellent work!
Bondo saves furniture lives!
🦋I'm so excited to watch this video, to learn how to blend paints. This piece is exactly what I'm looking to find.
I also watch Dionne Wood, but it's difficult for me to duplicate the process.
Wow! You turned that massacred piece of furniture into a real beauty!
Oh man, it was so beautiful before the black wax. I wouldn't have added that, but that's the difference between you and me.
Same, I think the black wax ruined it; It just looks dirty now. To each their own I guess.
Love that green color.
So pretty !!! Y’all taught me so much so happy I came across you !! Ty
You are great at then repairs!!!!
i agree up there with the top ten. the color and use of the paint really demonstrates the finely crafted design.
good technique and awsome restructuring. i can also see this piece with a bright turquoise and a light grey...

Thank you for adding techniques not just paint colors!
LOVED IT!!! That looks so awesome. It may be my favorite so far. Thanks for all of your instructions, I've learned so much from you & Zeb.

I wished I owned one of those 😊
If you're a female, owning a guy is really easy... wink, wink.

😊❤️ enjoy that good weather!
This is the first day I've learnt what chalk paint is! I've binged about 15 vids & yours are the best. When you put a top coat over, is that a wax (to then seal it before applying the black wax) or any kind of clear top coat?
You can use a liquid top coat or you could use a clear wax. That’ll help you move the dark wax to where you want it.
Love the bench good job all of you!!
Thanks Kim!
@@JamiRayVintage I think you should have painted the inside of the drawers. and doors? Just a white.
Another beauty! Great job by all.
Thanks Sally! This one was fun to bring back to life.
The color is just beautiful & the darker wax really brings out the details. I'm kinda on the fence w the handles though. lol I love them both ways. Glad u had to choose & not me! ;-)
That is so cute!!! I love your work!!
Thanks! ❤️❤️
Do you paint the back and bottom of your pieces or just the sides and front that are seen? Y’alls work is always amazing I’m inspired to do a furniture piece just not braved it yet!
Looks nice.
Who thinks the inside of the drawers. And doors? Should have been painted white??
BTW I LOVE IT!!💚
This is my favorite piece.
Thank you!
Could I blend like this with pink and grey chalk paint or will those colours be harder to blend?
I think gray and pink would make more of a brownish tone unless your gray was light
You make it look so easy...need those brushes!!

Beautiful
Hi do you not carry FairyChalkmother any more?
Do you have to spray the top coat? Will it look as well brushed on? Thanks! Love your videos
You don't have to spray it to get the look, we often use a foam brush or even a regular brush to apply Top Coat. We used the sprayer in this video because it's faster and I needed to get it done.
Thanks so much!
Wow😍 jami I really LOVE your work. ❤
Thank you!
Always use clear wax first, then dark😉
Is Bondo a glue? I can't find it on Amazon Italy.
I love it!!! It’s beautiful!!!
Beautiful colors. I'm not a fan of distressed though
That's beautiful!!
So pretty!! Do you have any country blue paint? I think I want to try the milk paint what do you think? Going to do this on a small side table. Any advice ? Thank you
Do you have to prime with this paint to keep from having bleed throughs?
It’s water based so if I’m worried about a piece having bleed through we use salvation solution primer.

Its pretty
How do you keep the doors and drawers from sticking and messing up your paint????
Sometimes they stick, but not often. We wait to open them until they are dry, and if they stick I run a utility knife between the drawers and they come right out.

Is the bondo you use the same kind of bondo used on vehicles?
It’s the same brand. We use all purpose bondo. There is also a car body filler that is designed for use with vehicles.
My stomach is hurting from laughing @ *black wax* I have to listen again. This piece I'd a beautte!!
Love love love!!!
