Ultraviolence supremacy
I love seeing people falling in love with Lana, and your reactions are so good! I'm really happy to be here since the beginning
thank you🤭
She ate with this album it was the first vinyl i purchased because it’s soooo good i love it start to finish imo. Love your honesty and i fully understand your takes because not every song i liked but as time moved on they would grow on me, times in the car, times smoking the zaza where she would make me feel like i’m floating is a truly wonderful feeling and i’m so ready to see the next album reaction!
yeah, I think the songs I didn't vibe with will grow on me sooner or later
Yeah it is a rock album! But it has some dream pop vibes (like in Brooklyn baby)

@@NiaPhantom😭
when you listen to honeymoon you'll get the best you ever heard ig
i second this
i'm actually really excited for honeymoon
I also already warned her about Honeymoon 😅 ⚠️
you're gonna love honeymoon if you love blue velvet 😭
yall getting me too excited 😭
I love your reactions, you are so genuine. Lana's lyrics aren't always literal, she is a poet and the lyrics can mean something different than we think.
dont make me blush 🤭 but um... I commend her lyricism for sure
she wasn’t saying it in the same tone in cruel world, every chorus it shows her “breaking down” and getting crazier and crazier. the drums get louder and the overall feel is different each time
I used to skip Cruel World when the album came out (2014). 10 years later it's my favorite song.
so real
just so you know, fmwuttt is about how Lorde said she only fucked her way up to be famous even though that's not true . So lana made this song being sarcastic. Lorde also criticized lana for saying she was very suicidal and wanted to kill herself. But recently Lorde did come out saying that Lana has been her idol for a very long time even after what happened
damn where have I beennnn😭
@@NiaPhantom yeah lorde gotta stop acting up lmao
I love your reactions smmm your vibe is so enjoyable and fun to watch. I can’t wait for you to get to her later albums they’re the best💕💕💕
thank youu🫶🏽🤭 every time I visit her spotify page, the latest albums tease me😭 i cant wait to hear them
i'm so obsessed with your hair!! it looks like galaxies and reminds me of the album lol
thank you🤭 ... I love space! so when I dye my hair that's usually my inspo (or sunsets)
This album is meant to feel like a heroin trip. Drowned out, loud, muddy. I love rock so this is one of my faves. But that’s why I love Lana, she has an album for everyone. Pop, hip hop, rock, country, singer songwriter.
OURRRRR HONEYMOOOOOON~ is cominggggg
it's almost that time 🤭
This album was her most anticipated album and it came out almost 10 years ago. It is her 3rd best in terms of charting.
Imo this album has my favourite leaks. Listen to them after you are done with her current discography under the name "Lana del Rey".
You should check out info on her pre-Lana times, she has so much stuff pre-Born To Die, like 3 aliases, lots of EPs (like 6-8 from the top of my head?) and a whole released studio album she worked on for 2 years.
okay okay thats interesting... I'll check it out
@@NiaPhantom Btw some of the tracks on UV are satirical, like "F****d my way u. t. the top" and "Money Power Glory" because of her wealthy background, that she tried to hide and not get involved as she moved out of Lake Placid, New York from her dad to go to LA, California after living in NYC back in the 2000s. Back then she was in a song competition (Williamsburg Competition, 2006) where she performed a few demos of tracks, like "Bread & Oranges", an early demo of "Pawn Shop Blues" (A track on Lana del Ray, aka. Lizzy Grand(Yes, she used to write Rey with a "A" until 2012, she dated a guy called Ray acc. to some of her leaks and other songs. She has so many intertwining things going on everywhere!)) and ended up being one of 3 finalists.
Love your reactions so far. I love the honesty... you 100% have a new subscriber.
thank you 🫶🏽 will always keep it real with yall
The backing vocals were intended to be by Lou Reed. Lana flew in to NYC to record with him and found out he died just after she landed.
The backing vocals ended up being done by Seth Kauffman known as the band Floating Action
thats actually crazy 🫢
I love how everyone's arguing on whats more important in a song, lyrics or vocals but you:
The Instrumentals✨😍
LMAOO literally
18:52 I love your reaction when you realized 😭
I've been thinking about that song for the longest😭😭... I couldn't contain myself
i really hope u react to did you know that there’s a tunnel under ocean blvd someday, i really love that album
yeah ofc... Im reacting to all of her albums🫧
you’re so funny, loving the reactions. and no lanas not latina she’s a liar 😭
but we love her 🥰
lmao not her lying 😭 but thanks for the kind words I appreciate you 🫶🏽
Has she ever claimed to be Latina except in a song from the POV of a fictional character? It's pretty well known that she's really Elizabeth Grant from New York state. :D
To clarify that, her first ever album was as 'Lizzy Grant', but she chose Lana Del Rey as her stage name after that.
she loves the culture and has a lot of cuban friends, she also lived in spain for 3 months with a host family when she got sent away
i think money power glory is meant to represent how men can and invited to desire money power glory while women are seen as mere objects. Lana is basically saying "why can't i have money power and glory? why god? why?"
ahh i gotcha
@@NiaPhantom idk I love how she dare to speak something that is considered taboos. I grew up catholic like Lana and I must say this, that play in the context: our churches are THE best example of the money power glory operated by priests and clergy - notoriously rich over donations during functions and financially supported by the Vatican [as a dogma the Pope is believed as infallible and "full of glory"] (and also an example: my grandma had to be blessed by her priest to be admitted to masses again since she gave birth to my mom - you know, about virginity and sin ... mind you my grandma was married and all but still had to play their power game because at time it was considered paying the priest respect)
Lana talking to Tim Jonze of The Guardian
"LIKE, IF ALL THAT I WAS ACTUALLY GOING TO BE ALLOWED TO HAVE BY THE MEDIA WAS MONEY, LOADS OF MONEY, THEN FUCK IT … WHAT I ACTUALLY WANTED WAS SOMETHING QUIET AND SIMPLE: A WRITER'S COMMUNITY AND RESPECT."
Del Rey talked about writing "Money Power Glory" in a track by track commentary of Ultraviolence, stating she wrote the song at a time when she felt really frustrated. She felt like the most anybody was going to allow her was, if she would be lucky, money and power, in the form of infamy, rather than fame. She described the song as "a sarcastic response, psychologically, just to what I felt was going on". On June 12, 2014, when asked by The New York Times about the track, she said "I learned that whatever I did elicited an opposite response, so I’m sure ‘Money Power Glory’ will actually resonate with people as being what I really do want. I already know what's coming, so it's okay to explore irony and bitterness". On July 1, 2014, in a controversial interview with The Guardian, Del Rey discussed being in "more of a sardonic mood" while writing the song.
(Sorry for the copy and paste but I’m feeling sooo lazy even more when it comes to explaining Lana. It’s been 12 years I’m exhausted. Lana is too much complex…the deepness is beyond)
@Dave-vb4nd the copy and paste is fine... this helped me understand a little bit more; thank you🫶🏽
@Dave-vb4nd the copy and paste is fine... this helped me understand a little bit more; thank you🫶🏽
You should listen to take me home, country road her vocals on that cover are absolutely beautiful
imma look into that
Money Power Glory is my favorite from this album🖤
Lana described “Money Power Glory” as “a sarcastic response, psychologically, just to what I felt was going on”
I think a lot of her songs this early on in her music are from the point of sort of fictional characters. Like they may draw on some of her personal experience, but they are telling stories. I think a lot of her later songs are much more personal and real to her.
okay okay... I'll keep this in mind
React to her single Say Yes to Heaven
kk i'll add this to the list
It’s literally a song from Gods perspective to us humans on earth! At least that’s how I want to interpret it😁😋
if this helps, lana is also religious. she’s catholic-christian! you’ll see that in honeymoon and ocean blvd
thanks for telling me thats good to know
she doesn't follow god but she does believe in him
ahh okay
32:54 in the other woman lana is the other woman
ohhh that changes the game🫣
Arcadia
i get high on weed on this album haha
fun fact: lana freestyled the song "pretty when you cry" while she was on her tour!
that's crazy
Your cup is giving me Chemtrails vibes 🍋🌪🏎 😅 💙
"F'ed my way up to the top" is allegedly about Lorde 🤟
"The other woman" is a cover of Jessie Mae Robinson's song of the same name, recorded by Sarah Vaughn, popularized by Nina Simone before Lana.
Black Beauty references her ex bf, Barrie, who suffered from depression
ouuu okay... thanks for letting me know (also is it bad that idk what chemtrails is?😭)
@NiaPhantom chemtrails over the country club ! GO WATCH THAT MUSIC VIDEO IMMEDIATELY PLEASE 🙏 REACT TO IT !!!!! PLEASE !!!!!!
I got you (added it to the list)
@NiaPhantom I sound impatient but there's no rush lol I'll be seated for it, whenever we get it ! 😊
just watching all ur lana reactions, all the blasphemous stuff is tongue n cheek kind of reflecting what the media/public thinks of her, she is a devout Christian herself
It’s ok, most of the fans don’t like guns and roses that much it really is kinda boring 😭 but btw I recommend that you’ll follow the lyrics especially in the title track cause it’s dark asf. But in Lana’s music in general it’s recommended .and if you don’t understand the lyrics there’s a site called genius it’ll help you understand.
good to know I wasnt the only one who thought it was a bit boring... and yeah I always read lyrics/pay attention to lyrics when I'm hearing a song for the first time (I use genius at times too)
@@NiaPhantom not at all! Mostly considered her weakest song. But the rest of the album is perfect imo.
I personally love guns and roses😭 but I do admit it’s kind of boring
am i the only one who genuinely loves the song 😔
don’t worry, guns n’ roses is probably the least liked song from her whole discography within the lana fandom
Ive heard Text Book and Tulsa Jesus Freak are her least favorites
