- When we bought the E46 M3 CSL we did say it was perfect as it was... but we can't leave anything alone!
So today we tune our CSL, we saw it was making good power on the dyno, and whilst it does add a small power bump the main difference is how the SMG reacts once tuned. We get Bilal out to experience the tuned car for the first time to see what he thinks.
We also give the interior a much needed lift - Plastic chrome has no place next to carbon fibre. So Bilal fits the full suite of Storm Motorwerks billet parts, products he designed when Eventuri was just a thought buried in his brain.

Great video! Bilal is a genius engineer. Mashallah. Hearing about how he founded his company after making a part for his own car & sharing it is inspiring.
storm makes absolutely top notch stuff. i had the paddles for my smg which comepletely transormed the experience and look and now that ive done a manual swap the first thing i did was get a v2 knob. absolutely incredible and the weight really takes out the notchiness of the gearbox.
I will never, ever tire of hearing that engine / induction. It's truly mesmerising, all the way through the rev range. And they're such an experience to drive.
E46 M3 CSL sounds so good
Nice to see the old E46 door strip issue isn't just reserved for us peasants😂. I've tried a few ways of sticking mine back. Superglue works fairly well, but does fail eventually. So far, rubber adhesive from a bicycle puncture repair kit seems the best solution.
Bilal has been scheming of how to fix it, but may just replace the trim.
Always great to go over the detail of THE CSL, the sights and sounds. Nice Omega also Bilal :-)

I ran a stainless shift nob on one of my cars years ago and NEVER AGAIN. In the summer they get so hot they’ll burn your hand if the cars been parked in the sun for more than 15 mins. I used to put a Crown Royal velvet bag over it when I parked to block the sun before I realized that it’s a terrible material for this purpose. Never again
These are still my favourite m car of all time I’ll never forget how savage the gear change felt in its highest setting. And that induction noise is the best
I installed all these Storm Motorwerks parts on my E46. I can confirm they definitely give it a more premium look and feel.
Great video! All those mods add a great touch to the car! I wish Storm Motorwerks still made the navigation knobs in stainless steel or titanium, those were amazing! Would have loved a set but they've been discontinued 😢. Again, great video!
Had no idea Bilal is behind Storm! Have both the Eventuri intake and tune and the Storm gear knob in my car. Definitely gonna be purchasing the rest of the machined parts soon. Thanks from Sydney!
Also I see that driver side weatherstripping hanging off, have reglued it 3 times now in my ownership.

Top quality stuff. Shame I missed the e46 boat. Favourite m3 but the rear subframe issue put me off a few years ago. And now they just seen too expensive.

Here in California on a hot summer day, say 105 Deg F, grabbing onto a stainless steel knob baking in the hot sun would be painful, to say the least. Looks great though! 👍

Although the interior aluminum bits look great, just wait until you get over 30 degree celsius… you’ll get burned due to how hot these parts will be. Don’t ask me how I know… 😔
Just a real shame the neoprene backing peels of making the paddles look crap! I changed mine as it was doing my head in- even after changing the neoprene for a fresh set - still happened again!!
Why stainless steel and not aluminum? People don't generally look to add weight to cars. But the pieces look very nice regardless.

The parts do look nice, although the radioactive parts are a little scary ☺️ IMO the CSL should be driven hard and loved muchly! Keep her original and watch the price go to the moon (apart from the HP upgrade and SMG flash of course👌🏽)
Not radioactive enough to cause any issue 😅 It’s also used in watches to provide luminescence
the stainless steel interior parts looks absolutely stunning but I would never put em on my car since I live in arizona basically I would get a second degree burn on my hands every time I drive my car lol

Those stainless steel parts look really nice. But in summer it will burn you if you car was parked in the sun and in winter you will need to wear gloves if you won't have your hand freeze to them.

@@EvolveAutomotive When sarcasm goes wrong. I said it SOUNDS like it, if it is not then the so called 'expert' would be you educating me on why it isn't but clearly this isn't the case. At approx 11:20 in between shifts it sounds like the smg is slipping the transmission. Is it simply just slowly engaging?

What’s the point of having a CSL when you’re going to add weight to it?
I could take a dump and lose more weight than we've added.
11:25. Thats clutch slip. You guys should seriouly reconsider this tune. Not just for clutch longevity but for overheat of the clutch packs and flywheel.

That is not clutch slip. This tune has been used on CSLs since 2008. There are no issues with longevity. Thank you for your concern though.

unfortunately this trim glue.. same as in 318ci. Anyway, you have to drive E46 to understand its legend.
Why more manufacturers aren't working on getting a better induction sound over adding ever increasing amounts of generally unusable hp baffles me. What a noise!
I've got a N52 130i that did have a BMW Performance Air intake option which are very rare. What other options are there other than K&N to get more induction noise?

@@EvolveAutomotive In fact I am talking by experience. I own a Z4M, I agree is far from being a super good manual, but works for h&t and is more reliable than SMG which will certainly break every 30 k miles.
@@requiem2es far from being a super good manual. Your own words. If the SMG breaks which has never happened in our ownership of E46 M3s we will just fix it. Drive a Porsche then you'll understand what a good manual is. Heck even a Civic Type R FK2 or S2000.

Had the Storm billet knob and handbrake handle for many years now and it still looks/feels as good as it did several years ago. Great bit of kit to transform the interior for sure and dare I say it, even performs better than both BMW's OEM knobs which I also bought from the dealer. The weight is heavier (manual box) than the short weighted BMW M knob, and you feel a bit more involved shifting: i.imgur.com/34AH58f.jpg
