Is it me or is the biggest revelation of this trip is how you’ve been mega fast despite you doing the steering and a passenger doing the pedals! Unbelievable talents, both of you!!!
Oh babyyy this is the one I've been waiting for, for weeks I've anticipated the absolute shredding of this car on this track... as always Dan what a performance my guy 👌
nah is normal and polite try it 10 times a day you will do the same in 3 month ^^ that technic is for mantain RPM but it must coupled with "no braking" technic ^^ is more a dance, it used in rally because you basically dance on corners ^^ for more braking force you dont use it, you will instead use the downfall of RPM for engine brake on professional level is not used because it will kill the clutch that is machined so hard for less weight but in street it will deliver a more compact brake zone = more speed before entry (of course more money for brake and tires changes LoL) my first change on my z4 was: 1000km for tyres and 500km for brakes (ferodo standard brand) ihihihih
Hey Danny.👋 Now, that's how you drive fasssst! You definitely weren't playing around on those 2 laps and you had my heart rate up just watching. Your mekanik has the Estoril Blue M3 dialed in.👌The big lass is a real performer worthy of the big screen. It must be a good feeling to unleash the beast and conquer such a formidable track. As always, thanks for the ride-along. Take care, dude.
@rubber rocket well considering most people start out in life with a fwd car (well we do in UK) and that truly mastering rwd requires some additional skills over fwd, and that a considerable slug if additional power adds a level of challenge, and finally that the M3 is a high revving (8.3k) NA engine attached to a keen chassis and mine specifically is a "proper manual", I think the evidence backs up my statement. I imagine you've not driven one.
@rubber rocket 1. I never un-discovered Honda 2. An E36 non-M is a very different thing to an E90 M3. No offense intended. I know because I've owned both. Interesting fact for you, from a senior BMW engineer: the E90 M3 shares less than 20% of its parts with a regular 3 series. It is a different car. Don't judge until you've tried one. Type R Hondas of the 1990s and 2000s are amazing vehicles. The dc2 was hands down the best fwd car I've ever driven.
I love how in control you appear with the car, is not like the mr2 where you seem to be wrestling with it on the limit. Your downshifts are a joy to hear, if only I could do this. Love it !
First off Dan ... Your car IS hooked-up!! It looks really well balanced! And that was some sketchy navigating around cars in the Adenau. Great driving tho!
First time I tried the 'looking through the corner' method that race drivers use and it was magic. Much more engaging than just generally looking at a video.
I love these angles with that amazing driving. It’s weird seeing left hand shifts bringing 5th closer towards you vs here that 5th is the furthest away. So cool. I think 5th is my worst gear I’d definitely like to try left
I usually do fifth by pushing the palm of my hand with the thumb downwards against the stick so when I start pushing it goes all the way to the right and when I push forward i only then actually grab the stick with my fingers as I start pushing, it goes into fifth fairly smooth this way for me. Of course depends on your gearbox and preference but hey, just try gunning it where its safe for you to do so and quickly shifting up and see what feels natural. I ended up landing on this technique because I would always try to push it all the way to the side too late and get third or nothing at all.
6:02 Out of curiosity, what benefit does he gain from 2 single downshifts as opposed to just blipping the throttle harder and downshifting 2 gears at once?
BMW drivers are evolving - he didn`t bother to flash other drivers, he just turned on high beams permanently.
😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
He was filming his own feet operating the pedals and just moved the footage to the left so we can better see what he’s doing
LMAOOOOOOO😂
Impressive speed considering you let your passenger operate the pedals.
It only works cuz his entire headliner is a rear view mirror
I thought he had a wing mounted above the front shield. On a Perspex roof?
The floor is eu spec but the the rest is UK....
I love you guys 🤣 briliiant comments.
No the passenger is steering
7:36 on a crowded track is INSANE !!! I cant believe it! Holy!! Most people dont even understand how crazy that time is.
Must be an amazing feeling smoking past new m2 competitions in a 20 year old m3 you’ve built in a shed! Great video!
Most fiesta owners will tell you they do the same, but a Danny films it and has the driving skill 😂
Lol this is a built car. Now add coilovers to the M2 comp and see what happens
@@ayugoslav5554 what’s a built car? 😂
@@b17blg A car that's not stock. Learn English
@@ayugoslav5554 I would hardly say Danny has a hugely modified car, it’ll take more than coil overs to live with Danny driving his E46.

I am Japanese, so I feel familiar with right-hand drive.
E46 has a cool speedometer.
it's nice

Man and machine in total harmony 👍
A couple of fuckin rapid looking laps.
Full beam looked like it helped clear the traffic ahead most of the time. Well driven Dan👌

DC2 TypeR owner for 7yrs from around 2005. I would have started following you close to that time. I own an E90 M3 since 2016. Logical progression. 👊
nice
Moving to the bm seems more like a regression

Very impressive driving👌 u drive like the locals at the ring👏👏
From one Northerner to another who has driven the Green Hell, that was one proper committed lap you did. Fast AF kid
That DC2 was on it too. Always in the mirror, despite the likely power difference.
traffic twice closed huge gaps, still little honda was indeed doing well
Honda had a 90kg passenger disadvantage.. it's better car regardless.
You smoked that Honda kid flying with the M3! You guys should do another one reversed next year. Mind blown 🤯
do the track in reverse?
@@MikeSmith-rd9fi no drive the normal layout in reverse
The Honda had a 90kg passenger, and still kept up!! Danny should go back to the Honda DC2

Its easy dude just practice in normal driving every time you slow up to an intersection its all muscle memory!

That DC2 was like Dan's shadow that he cannot quite get rid of... too meta
8-10s off is quite a stretch to call it a shadow but still not too shabby for a 4cil to keep that distance
