Local level pool competitors are able to make a whole set if they bothered to practise this specific shot. It is a very common "trick shot" one of the first and easiest ones you get to learn If you ask a trickshot player to teach you something. In a normal game this doesn't benefit at all so most people don't bother trying it.

is actually not that hard, there's a physical self correction on shots like that which make it easier. Still it looks amazing tho.
