Felt sorry for Bustamante, he was on fire in the tournament prior to the match, and the several racks before that incredible 9 racks by Reyes. Man I was rooting for Django that time, he was such a young and great player back then..

Pool will never play to the masses until we get the excitement into the game like this. The crowd has to be allowed into it,the announcers' have to be like Hockey, Football etc. This match had it all.
Efren is that one nice grandpa that would come up with creative excuses to your parents so they couldn't stop you from going outside with your friends to play.

Eften is good, but Django is playing flawless here! No matter in safety shot, snooker escape, counter safe, potting, recovery shot, everything is just so perfect 💪
as a snooker/pool player, the pockets on 9 ball tables are huge, but yea efren is a legend, the shots he pulls off are amazing, and done with much skill.
I asked an old timer who was quite good at billiards, "what's the secret"? He said come here and take a look at the table. What do you see? I said well I see a table, and some colored balls....what else is there? He then told me this...." On any good billiards table setup, there are 3 bulbs in the overhead candelabra, that make 3 light reflections on each ball. Down each side of the table are 3 pockets, and in between the pockets are 3 diamonds or sights." As he said it, I "saw it". Holy cow. My game was instantly elevated. After that I learned proper stance and stroke(swing from the elbow, not the shoulder). I started playing with english, speed and masse. Left, right, follow and draw. Proper way to groom the felt tip and chalking. And I eventually realized that there was a geometrical way of "measuring" every kind of shot, and started using the mirror ball and mirror pocket concept along with the light reflections. On straight shots. Cut shots. Bank shots. Backskuttle shots. Combo shots. Run the rail shots. It is really all right there for all to "see."
I would have beaten atleast one of these pros in my good days in Blackwell Job Corps 1999-2000. Played with lots of good players and won many tournaments. Missed those days.
