    U forgot the key ingredient.. liver, gives it that authentic Louisiana "dirty" flavor. Also, whenever I'm making any creole dishes, I use alot of the chop leaves from the celery stalk(stronger richer flavor). There's no wrong way to make it...I just learned from my Grandma who was taught by an old creole lady from baton rouge. Salute💯

    AB's always in the sweet spot. Right to the point with his vast knowledge, letting his beautiful food shine through. He clearly understands the art of cooking by the way he instinctively coaxes the natural flavors out. NEVER heavy-handed with the spices and canned stuff like so many others.

    • @Emagick77
      @Emagick77 3 роки тому +3

      @@dreday77777 yes you can use it.. ground beef ( especially the the regular or chuck) has alot of fat...so if you use either one of those,there's no reason for you to use the olive oil as he did. Thy are high in fat so they extract their own oil while being cooked. if you're going to use the Ground sirloin beef then you can use the olive oil...my suggestion is to see if you can get your hands on some Italian spicy turkey sausage or beef sausage...

    LISTEN HERE!!!!!!!!! This was so darn good. My family loves your channel because it keeps me putting great dinner on the table. I did not add the shrimp, so I used a mix between Italian sausage and ground turkey. I also used brown rice and my family ate good. I did a hot soak with brown rice before I put it in the skillet, because brown rice takes longer to cook. All in all this meal was a ten out of ten. I put some honey butter biscuits on the side with a string bean and corn medley.

    I’m from Louisiana. Normally we cook the rice separately. We do that to avoid having too much starch in our dirty rice. But looks good

    Great video. Simple. I'd make it my own by adding a lb of ground beef and 6 boneless chicken thighs cut into 6 pieces each. My compliments to the Chef, AB!

    I did diced chicken breast, hot chicken Italian sausage and shrimp. (I don’t eat pork) My oldest daughter loved it.

    I'm a pescatarian AB, so, I substituted the pork with plant-based ground beef (Morningstar), but used similar seasoning to what you used and included virtually every other thing listed in your ingredients list. Went with brown rice and used vegetable stock instead of chicken stock.👍🏿

    weellllll, Mr AB, l loved your dish...but... where i'm from we use some type of liver in our "dirty rice" dish...so, although i make a dirty rice w/ liver ...ie...chkn or calf/beef... i did the recipe as you describe and it was a hit...next time i will try it w/ liver and see what happens.. wiil .get back @cha

      Yes, very much the creole way to add gizzards and liver.

    • @corey1788
      @corey1788 4 роки тому

      Yes the liver and gizzards is the classic way of doing it but some folks can't eat "organ meats" as it can cause serious health issues. I'll eat some good dirty rice any way i can get it lol.

    Super easy to follow, no tricks or gimmicks. I made it for my Saturday family get together and it was AMAZING! I messed up the ratio because I had to make enough for 9 people. I wish you could have seen their mouths drop open. I mean they went for seconds and thirds. Even the kids ate it (and that says something)!
