- If you watched the 2 videos of the Victorian house clean up then you will recognize this homeowner. He came and spoke with me quite a few times and even called the newspaper to tell them what I was doing. during the clean up he asked me how much I would charge to clean the siding on his house and it felt very good to tell him that i was no longer for hire but when I completed that job I would come over had clean the siding for him.
thank you so much for supporting the channel by watching the videos and giving me the agility to be able to help people like that. I get the feeling that this home owner needed the conversation more that the help around the house but it also really brightened up his day. This was last year so it was fresh off of the heels of the whole stay at home and talk to no one or you will die thing that we all went through.....I ignored it and kept working but I know not everyone could do that. My point is that so many people are super lonely after that experience and it has no doubt changed how we all talk to each other and interact with each other. I think a lot of people have moved to using their social media to have a social life but for many people that is not an option and in general is give you a very shallow relationship experience with others. today I encourage you to stop and have a conversation with someone completely random and if you don't feel like you can do that work up to it by saying hi to you neighbors and not that half wave as you rush to the door after getting fast-food breakfast with no bra with crazy hair while your dressed in 4 day unwashed pajamas.... ya I know how some of you live lol I have my moments to hahah. If any of that offended you chill out you shouldn't be wearing your wife's bra anyways...it doesn't fit you right and your going to stretch it out. hahahh at this point I have offended someone.
so my next challenge to you other than removing the "stick" if you are the easily offended is to attempt to right a relationship that needs mending. over the last few years there have been many emotionally charged "debates" but you know what they really were people just being ugly with each other because the were emotionally charged. I want to encourage you to reach out and start the healing process with a loved one or friend. remember to remove the emotion from the conversation if it gets heated say hey I can tell this is emotionally charged lets come back to this in a few hours or days. My late father in law who was a blessing to have met use to say " there is nothing that wont work out in the wash" that was his way of saying you can fix anything with a conversation.
I miss Rachels dad a lot. I didn't get to know him long but I enjoyed staying up late and talking with him until the sun came up when I did get to see him. he was an awesome guy and really lived a very interesting life from growing up in the great depression / the Oklahoma dust bowl to his carrier as a sales rep ( a very useful skill by the way everything in life is a sale. if you don't believe me talk to a 2 year old, see if your not making a sale to get them to do anything ) and later he was a professional gambler. Its really crazy that my wife's father almost lived a double life and ran illegal games for several years as well. talk about some wild stories.
I have been very blessed to have amazing In-laws and to make a full circle I know a lot of people are probably at odd with their in-laws. I want to say that if you love your spouse try to keep that relationship as good as possible it will remove a lot of unneeded stress from your relationship but your spouse needs that relationship. I can say that with 100% experience. my mother in-law and I use to butt heads all the time. The thing is that my mother in-law is really good at pointing out when your acting like a Jackass in life. She points it out more poetically and with nothing but loving intent but it feels the same as when you were little and you had to stand in a corner and think about what you did. That at one point was very difficult for me to handle because I am sometimes way to damn sensitive to criticism....you can see that in the comment section of my videos from time to time. lol I try not to lash out to negativity but everyone is human and just like anyone else sometimes I enjoy it even though I shouldn't. it just feels good to give someone a ( what for!) but when its all said and done it means nothing, you proved nothing and no one benefits from it. Calm impactful conversation that is not ruled by emotion is the goal. kind and loving words that encourage others to be at their highest good, that's my personal goal. I cant tell you what your goal with communication should be Im just opening up inner dialog.
I have rambled like crazy on this one. I don't even know if its easy to follow and my wife is asleep so I can't have her spell check it so " you get what you get and you don't throw a fit"

As a senior citizen all things like yard work have gotten hard to do physically so on behalf of a fellow senior I appreciate what you do, in addition so many seniors have limited funds in their budget as well so I know the seniors who you help are very appreciative of you giving them the feeling of having a nice manicured yard at a “price” that fits in their minimal budget

The society structures have changed. There are more old people than newborns. Many smaller towns are full of old people who can`t help each other as they used to.
The Middle Classes are vanishing. Smaller and even larger towns are dying because local companies have been ruined. Most people who are in their 80s or 90s had 1,2, or 3 children who moved away in order to find work. The parents of today's old people usually had more than 3 children who were less educated and had "simpler jobs". Consequently, younger people didn`t leave and stayed near their parents.
In addition, many of those who only had 1-3 children often outlived them.
In smaller towns with enough middle-aged people, the habit of helping each other still exists :) Not all good things have vanished from these awful times. And this channel is proof of that fact :)))
This is one great guy, man of his word. We need more inspirational people in this world, just like him.

You are an angel! Helping a senior is way up there on my list of good deeds. And you are right, he also probably needed the company. When I am out walking the dogs, I go through downtown and it can be a bit rough with homelessness, drug use, etc but I always stop to talk to anyone who speaks to me and the dogs. I let them have a moment with the dogs because I realised, it can make their day to speak to someone who can see them as a person and is willing to treat them as an equal.

My husband and I mow the widows next door when we do ours. I think she is younger than both of us but we enjoy doing our yard and her not so much. We have never asked for anything, just do it to be a good neighbor.
Kevin, one thing I wanted to suggest when I was watching you mow the brambles in Florida was to get you some of those sleeves. They *really* help.

Hey Kevin you rocked this one too. The lawn work plus the sidewalks power washing plus the home siding washing makes for a complete package. Everything we do in life leaves a mark. These transformations never get old.
You're a bonus person in life. The way you help others. It's rather interesting as you go to a home and provide much needed help. The other neighbors after a few days of watching you work, feel safe enough to approach you and ask if you could help in some areas that are needed in their yards. Awesome how you were able to help several people in this one neighborhood. The outcome is through the happiness you brought to this neighborhood. They no longer have to worry about that problem area. The small limbs look like trees! This beautiful, gentle man works so hard. He sees something that is wonky and feels a need to fix it. I enjoyed the mini architectural tour, too.
Seems I spend too much time watching Kevin doing a good job instead of my own housework. Once you start a video you have to hang in there to see how it looks afterwards, and it's always, always, a thorough job. Thank you for all you do for others, especially seniors.
On your X jet, put a 2 foot long piece of 3/4” pvc into the bleach bucket and put the input hose down through the pipe to keep the hose in the bucket. (Cut the bottoms of the pipe and hose off at an angle). Great job, Kevin!

In 1998 I moved to Tennessee from Florida to minister to my dad. He became ill with diabetes, ( just out of control).
I do not regret following the Holy Spirit. My dad and mom has since passed.
Continue to serve the Lord and love the people we need loved.

I am not sure why this content grabs me and keeps me glued until the end each and every time, but I think it is because it IS interesting to watch a transformation, and the good you are doing for the people you help is beyond measure.
