Emppu is one of the best guitarists in metal, no argument. But unlike many, he's a very musical guitarist in that the only and just plays what the song needs to lift it to the right point. He doesn't try to show off or be the center of attention, instead working with the other members to create a musical whole as a group, not a bunch of individuals on a stage
Hello, Nathan. Fantastic reaction to this incredible performance. Get used to saying "This is my favorite Nightwish song". This is the band that escapes from reality and into a world of imagination. Thank you Tuomas and thank you Floor. Thank you for this. Loved it.
Marco is one of the very best male vocalists in metal Try Song of Myself from this concert to hear them together again For mad drums, Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean from Buenos Aires 2018 also has Marco in duet. My No 1 is The Poet and the Pendulum Wembley 2015 which is an astonishing, deep, highly emotional song. Look into the background before you do it . And welcome to the Nightwish community.
Not to take anything away from Marco, but have you heard the great Robert Lowe? Bloke had an amazing voice before he became an alcoholic and ruined it, and pretty much nobody has ever heard of him outside of the (relatively small) doom metal community. Check out "Mirror of Sorrow" and "Shattered My Spirit" by Solitude Aeturnus. He's up there with Damian Wilson IMO, and their voices are quite similar.
@@NickBR57 Of course, Dio was at the top. But why "isn't" he classified as metal? Black Sabbath were metal as.., and lots of his own stuff was heavy metal too. Of course, the old school heavy metal wasn't that heavy by modern standards, but nonetheless.
@@noneofyerbeeswax8194 Only because RJD was in many other incarnations and not recognised by all as metal I suppose. Personally, having been in Birmingham at University just a few short years after they came to fame, Sabbath have a special place for me as perhaps the first heavy metal band and in the BS context I would personally regard him as metal. Many others don't put him quite in the metal category but I completely agree I would. And what a vocalist! My goodness. He was a revelation to me. Ozzy was good but RJD was a different league altogether to my ear
Their repertoire is packed with great songs and IMO top 5 by quality in general are Ghost Love Score, Poet and the Pendulum, The Greatest Show on Earth, Dead Boy's Poem and Shoemaker. My top 3 are Shudder Before the Beautiful, Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean and Weak Fantasy. I would then mention several other songs before Ever Dream, which is fantastic by itself.
🤩👍💥💯🎼 Neat reaction män and keep on rockin with this magical band! Cheers from Finland. 🤘😎 🇫🇮 💙 "Weak Fantasy "live at Tampere 2015 next by them (???)🙄 ..Or that highly requested "The Greatest Show On Earth "live at Tampere 2015 too...😉👍
And about to go to South America, Argentina, Buenos Aires? I suggest the dramatic song "Devil and The Deep Dark Ocean" or "Slaying The Dreamer". Both are insane!!!
Nice to see you back here! 🙂Check out the rendition Floor included in her solo show as well. There are some really beautiful piano lines that are more in the foreground and you get another view of this gorgeous song.
NW does an amazing job carving out spaces for instruments/voices within the audio spectrum. In this one, the bass and drums provide all the drive, and the keys and guitar are like a pulsing 'pad' (to steal a term from the keys) 'Better songs'? That'd mean I'd have to look through all the NW videos you've already listened to .
And quite often the keys move high and low depending on where there's "space" for them, so if for example Floor comes in to fill the pocket keys were in, keys either stop or move elsewhere. Same with all instruments. Like the guitar solo in Ghost Love Score that's a direct continuum from the vocal like, a totally smooth handover.
@@Nathan-ur3fk Nathan FYI reactor tip: for best views you should include venue in video cap tittle like : Live at Wacken 2013 as there are many versions of many songs, cheers
I'm not quite sure if NW have any piano ballads. Some orchestral ones for sure, but just the piano and the singer? Can't think of any right now. There are a few piano ballads with Floor though. "Eccentric" and "Lonely" by After Forever or "I Lost Myself" by ReVamp. ("Intrinsic" and "Cry With a Smile" are also highly recommended!)
Reacciona a su versión original de Nightwish con Tarja Turunen su primera vocal femenina y COFUNDADORA de la banda Nightwish🤘🏻 es muy diferente la versión original de este concierto!!! Ever Dream en el final de una era 2005!!!
Suggestion: For comments longer than a couple words, pause, comment, rewind and proceed. Talking over the singer at high points or guitar solos will not endear you to your listeners. 😊🤘
Hello Nathan ! Better than Everdream? Well, that depends on your tastes... Difficult to say which song is better or not. Personaly I enjoy a lot "Greatest show on Earth", for example, but it is not for everybody, given that it's a long song, and not everyone will necessarily like it (24 minutes!) But I recommand you to try shorter songs before, like "Storytime", "Romanticide" etc... Nightwish did an amazing tribute to Pink Floyd with "High Hopes" and Emppu did a great job :)
ty for the reaction 🙂. .......better than this, thats not how it works for a lot of us nightwish fans, for me, just play anything from them and im fine. however you might like to try the showopener from wacken "dark chest of wonders" or the 2015 masters of rock festival closer "last ride of the day"
I think you meant "too loud" and "too" much. If you're going to be unnecessarily critical of someone, when you could have just remained silent and moved on, at least use proper spelling and grammar.
Emppu only ever plays the solo that the song requires. They are just perfect musicians who only ever serve the needs of the song. Stay safe 🤘 ✌️

NW has plenty of 10 out of 10 songs!! In my view, I haven't found a single NW song that isn't a 10.

I still want the piano ballad, it started so gentle and sweet.

I love your comments and emotional response. But, please, pause the video when you talk. Talking over the music is annoying.
It's due to my old setup. I've done some research and made it better.
Sorry Nathan, you talk to load and to much over the music for me.
Good luck

Unfortunately that's my style of video until I get a better setup and laptop! I appreciate you stopping by though.
