You are right on - it was ”bat shit crazy” in the best way possible 💙 And just when it cannot get any better, Nightwish with Floor will go “ape shit crazy” (meant with utmost respect) on top of everything else that was already 🤯 our minds!

If you loved the slower part, you should listen to the extended version with a beautiful orchestral piece accompanying members of the the band reciting a poem.

I've been into metal since the 1980s, and my son grew up listening to Deep Purple, Jethro Tull, Celtic Frost, Possessed, System of a Down, Tool, Dillinger Escape Plan and Trivium; he came across Wintersun and was immediately like, "Mum, you have to hear this band, they're right uo your street", and how right he was! They come third only to Sadness and Unreqvited in my books, incredible band :)

I see that you’re still reacting to Nightwish music. One of my new favourites which is an older song initially performed by Tarja, but this newer version again from a few years back with Floor as front women is as good as JCS Gethsemane with Ted Neeley. This is a completely different song, only the name is the same. As a guitarist I’m sure you will appreciate some of Empu’s work here. Kai on drums is such a beast. Trying to follow all the time changes and rhythms within this is just insane. I see you are back doing reactions after a long pause. Welcome back! Since I see you've done several Nightwish songs, you would definitely appreciate the band Epica. They are a symphonic metal band with a much darker sound. Their vocalist, Simone Simons, is on par with Floor. Most people start with the song Consign to Oblivion, but their whole catalog is amazing. Check them out!

Tuomas' compositions are already off the scale in terms of creativity and epicness, and Floor delivers like a wrecking ball to the soul.

First song of the set and Floor is using her head voice for the high notes. A few songs in and her confidence is sky high and she can make these notes in chest voice. Still it's hard to appreciate that she was on the verge of running out just before she came on stage. That was a huge audience that needed winning over.

Fantastic high-energy opening.............almost as good as "Shudder Before the Beautiful" at Wembley

The first Nightwish performance I remember seeing was Dark Chest of Wonders. But it was Annette, from a theater in Australia. I immediately loved the song, but I never realized how much better the performance could be.

The energy here after 572 days of touring!!!!!! Such magic. No bad songs. No way to miss a single moment. Steel bladder essential!

Great opener for a big metal festival.

This was an exceptional concert at Wacken 2013 where almost all of the 82,000 first heard Floor Jansen singing songs written for the previous two singers, Tarja Turunen (predominantly operatic) and Anette Olzon (mainly pop) having joined the band mid tour ten months earlier in the USA with 48 hours to learn the setlist while flying from The Netherlands. There are some videos of her performing at her first concert with so little time to rehearse and she still nails it.

That’s how to start a concert 🎵 and then blow the crowd away with talent 😊

Hi Nath, there is some wasted space to the left of you (right for the viewer), so with a different camera standpoint you could make the window with the band a bit larger :-) Love it that you love this.

As a guitarist you definately should react to "Sons of Winters and Stars" by Wintersun, because a) two of the current members of Nightwish played there, and b) this is a "wtf did I watch?" performance.

Not surprised you haven’t yet heard a song you don’t like. I have seen 4 live shows YT and bought all their cd’s and I haven’t heard a bad Nightwish song yet. Of course I have my favourites. F.i. the song Pan from their last album Human || Nature (btw their official video is a beautiful lyrics animation). But I could name at least 10 other songs that are a very close second! Enjoy their music!
