I still would, 😀

The more I watch hoovie, the more I realize that if I want to have an exotic car, I should just rent one for a weekend.
Fed Kat depends on the exotic you want, hurricane, 911 (991.1, 991.2), Audi R8 (2014 later), plenty more. Those are all great exotics that can drive everyday if needed
Daniel I’ve had a ton of issues with my 991.2 in my 2 years of ownership. It’s had the engine out 4 times and been in the dealership for probably 4 combined months over those years. Now Porsche has taken care of me by extending my warranty and giving a credit for future service, but when my dealership seemingly drive through and asteroid field and returned my car with 5-6 new rick chips in the front, they gave me another $5k. Such a crazy experience. I owned a Panamera for several years before and it was/is fantastic.. pretty bummed about the whole experience.

Those are the most expensive battery terminals in the history of mankind
Yes, that really was about the dumbest car thing on youtube
$10k to clean and tighten the battery terminals. Wow.
For some reason, I read this in Jeremy Clarkson's voice
I bet those battery terminals did *not* fix at all those issues which Tyler experienced during the "Car Trek" series at the Tavarish channel. I personally own a 360 Modena and can speak from experience as I claim that those issues needs the car be driven long enough and transmission being properly at the operating temperatures. There's so much finicy stuff going on with all the sensors and stuff not to mention clutch and the F1 Actuator & F1 Power Unit etc.

hasanaydin22 well they did the transaction and then he did the work/inspection.
Yep. I think cleaning and properly tightening the battery cables should be one of the first things you do when you buy a used car.

Then theres me an european thinking my 136hp volvo is pretty good
Well here in USA you buy a cheap dodge car with 800hp
@@kylekdk456 if 85 grand is cheap then yes
Me, citizen of Turkey, a country which basically gets even more underpowered European cars under 1.8L or just small diesels ranging from 70-130hp mostly. And I think my 60hp PETROL car is quite quick. Still though, I can carry 4 people, just enough luggage, use A/C at the same time and still get 45-50ish MPG. And for 85k USD here, you get a 200hp smthn diesel VW stupid coupe looking sedan shit whatever is that, so 85k Dodge is a bargain.
Don't go to much on horsepower, it all about power to weight. A 250 to 300 hp car that alround a 1000kgs will be as quick as something with twice the hp ,and more fun too

1:20 - The 348 in side-profile always looked like a Toyota MR2 to me.
John Jones interesting to consider that around the same time period you could buy an MR2 Turbo with 245bhp, and with a few minor modifications you could easily add another 40bhp and seriously give the Ferrari a run for its money with none of the expensive servicing requirements.

Two words that never, in the history of automobiles, have ever gone together: Ferrari and Cheap.
I kind of did it with 2 Porsche 924 for $800
It’s amazing how Ferrari gets away with the prices for parts and the need to replace them so often. Especially on the slow ones like this.
Hmmm, and to think I'm unhappy about spending around $600 in parts on my 17 year old, 250k + miles, Honda cr-v over the last three years.
As I watched this, hearing about the cracked casting aluminum block, I thought: How could Honda (motorcycles) make VFRs that could do 500,000 miles with an engine that could do 11,500 RPM, yet a company like Ferrari has such catastrophic issues? Having had three Volvos all over 220K, and the current one at 170K, no wonder Ferrari ownership has never been for me.
UncaringAsshat Ferrari isn’t as big as a Japanese car manufacturer

My best deal was an 02 Trans Am, drove it for a couple years and sold it for a lot more than I paid for it.
In January I bought a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 5.9 liter V8 for $5,000. Miles on a twenty year old Ram? 57,000. Old man owned. I had to put new ball joints, brake pads and shocks on it. Runs like a dream.

I didn’t miss the Star Trek reference on the wall… I am loving you more and more!👍
Hoovie sacrifices these cars so we don’t have too 🔥🔥🔥
Living in the UK where it feels like everybody drives a car with a 2.0 litre Diesel engine, I always get mildly offended when Hoovie shuns a car for having “only 300bhp”.
2 litre? What incredible opulence, try 1.5!
It really is low these days but used to be decent. My 98 Z28 had 305 HP and was only 24k new.
What part do you live in where you have 2.0s??
I'm currently in Swindon, and all I see are 1.0-1.8s lol
Ryan Yoder it isn’t necessarily the cost of the car that’s the problem. It’s the UK fuel prices, road tax and insurance that spoils it for most.
Cardboard Sliver I’m about an hour east of you on the M4
Hoovie I call up your video's and watch them when my wife and daughter talk about the money I spend on my 1990 Corvette Z51 6sp. I has 25 seasons of SCCA autocross and time trials in Southern California (so year round) with four season championships. Rebuilt the engine at 135K. Plenty fast and so much cheaper to keep. My engine rebuild cost less than a belt Service on the 348, and I can out run it on course.
For those who might say but it's not a Ferrari, I spent three years teaching people how to driver Ferrari's and Lamborghini's, they are nice, sound sexy, but the owners don't drive them. At least your Delta Pilot drove and tracked this one.
Hoovie has a Steve McQueen-Like head of hair. Credit where it's due. Love those seat covers!! Thanks for the video
I mean, if you’re buying a cheap 348, the best thing to do is to fix it yourself. Yeah it might tank the resale value a bit, but it still saves you a lot of money. They’re not particularly complicated cars, you just have to have the time and space to work on them. Parts are still a little pricey but you’ll save a fortune on labor costs.
Danny's Garage finally someone with common sense!!!
Your mechanic is a shrewd negotiator.

Tyler, At the very moment you were talking to Johnny and Johnny said ‘battery cables’, I had to pause the video, roll on the floor and laugh for at least a couple of minutes! The number of times I have seen that, especially in exotic cars, (over the last 45 years as a tech) is crazy 😜! But you were wise to pass along to Johnny since your family is getting bigger 😃! Love your videos man 😂!
That's the opposite of "dream car"..... its a nightmare on wheels.

Those costs makes a Corvette seem like a bargain in comparison.
Corvettes ability to be repaired all over America relatively cheap also mean the corvettes a better deal especially the newer ones.
The Corvette is the poor mans Ferrari lol
Corvettes really are bargains. Very reliable as well
Corvettes have always been a bargain. However, there is nothing quite like the feeling you get driving a Ferrari. You can't replicate it.
Ferraris are like an Italian girlfriend ..... Sexy as hell but VERY expensive to maintain
I bought a 996.1 (March 1998 build) Porsche 911 three years ago. It was a local "bring a trailer" deal because it was having serious electrical issues and could not be test driven. I asked the owner if he checked for a bad ground and he said he had taken it to two different shops and they couldn't fix it. I bought it cheap and trailered it home. While doing basic trouble shooting, I found the ground from the battery to the body was corroded. I cleaned it up and the car has run great ever since.
So, Johnny made that top himself as well as being a skilled mechanic? Kudos to a man of many talents.
More likely farmed it out to someone he knows in the industry.
Anyone with the tools can make it.
If I was a high roller in 1990, I would have looked at the 348, and bought an NSX.

$80k for 100,000 miles, sounds like less than a dollar per mile! I don't think most Ferrari's are that cost efficient.
It doesn't include the first ten years though
Or the other 80000ish depreciation
I think youre right. My customer went from a Ferrari to a Honda NSX, the first service for the Honda was £200. He said Ferrari wouldn't even open the door for £200. On saying that another customer had an NSX which needed the gearbox removing, that was thousands as the housing was structural.

Tyler, I’ve always supported you. I watch, I click, I’m entertained. When I heard $35k, I paused it. Then. I heard you sold the 360. You claim other purchases are stupid, but most are not. This one, actually is. This car won’t be worth $35k in a year. Zero chance. The analysis has to include the money you will put it in for the next year. Investing in the 360 is clearly so much better in every way. Out of all of your zany purchases, this was the first one that actually is qualified zany. I’m entertainingly shocked. That’s why you are the best.
As an engineer with also the knack for repairs, I cannot tell you the numbers of times someone gave me something that apparently needed serious repairs but for me they would work well of just come together at a low cost. I feel that there are a lot of people pout there who suck at diagnosing the real problem so they use the throw money at it process to get something going.
